The Official Young Avengers/Runaways Thread

Who the hell doesn't like Victor? He's a great character. I'm looking forward to whatever strange bonding experience Wells has in store for Vic and his "brother" the Vision. :)

Yeah. That's the stuff Black Panther has on his gloves to help him climb things.
It's also the stuff Hank Pym used to beat the ungodly mechanical hell out of Ultron in "Ultron Unleashed." It's called Antarctic Vibranium, though I think I've heard it's found in Wakanda as well.

Oh, and TheCorpulent1: Sentry HAS officially taken part in a New Avengers mission outside of his origin, as of NEW AVENGERS #18. This of course adds to YOUNG AVENGERS #11 (and presumably #12).
I saw. I flipped through it in the store and had to go back to the cover twice, just to make sure it was really New Avengers. An awful lot of stuff happened in that one issue. Bendis seems to be expanding his repertoire to include plot progression within a single issue! ;)

I wonder if she'll bring her "mate" Xavin with her? He/she could add some power to the roster if they needed it (Xavin has the powers of Super-Skrull, just can only use them one at a time, and lacks that "mesmerizing" power, which always seemed really random).

Eh, YA already have a Skrull/Kree shapeshifter. I'd prefer something different.

The runaways was pure comic gold until wolverine appeared. Peaked after Alex died/before Victor came. It's still great and now i'm reading Young avengers so i know what they're about too when civil war starts.

Here's the cover to Civil War: YA/Runaways #1.

I like Cheung's Nico.

Something tells me she will hit on him if he doesn't say something about him being gay. She is such a !@#$

Nico would probably fall into a deep depression if that were the case, considering her situation with Karolina. :p

The Antartic Vibranium is Anti-Metal, and destroys all metal. The stuff in Wakanda is just the normal Vibranium, and is what the Panther uses.

Wiccan never said he was gay, it's always just implied. but yeah, its kinda obvious. i mean, even in New Avengers, those two are next to each other.

Black Panther uses both. His gloves have Antartic Vibranium in them.

Are you joking? Have you read issue #7? It's not just "implied," it's completely confirmed.

But yes, Nico should hit on him, just to continue her horrible track record with men...and women:O.

My goof. I wasn't thinking about the claws.

Wouldn't that screw up all the normal vibranium laced throughout the rest of his costume?

Shes dun be confused.

So, when in continuity is Civil War as compared to Runaways #18?

I'd assume that they're not directly touching.

Antarctic vibranium doesn't have to be touching things, does it? It sends out vibrations on a frequency that disrupts the molecular bonds of other metals.

Well, there aren't highly large amounts in his gloves. Just the fingertips.

Also, here's a question I have:

Does Vibranium absorb shock to the point where it almost can't vibrate, or does it vibrate very easily, or what?
