BvS The Official Zack Snyder Directs Everything Thread - Part 2

I've yet to see the film but by the sound of it Snyder has serious storytelling issues.

Apparently in this film called Superman V Batman Bruce and Clark share little to no screen time with each other or investigating each other is this true?

You know those two clips of them that have been released so far? The one at the party and the confrontation where Clark says 'The Bat is dead'? That's the extent of their interaction prior to the fight. I **** you not.

It's difficult to point fingers actually in hollywood. Some people has great and terrible stuff.

I mean if somebody told me Spielberg will direct Peter Pan, i would think it'll be awesome. Or some other stinkers.

That's why bringing George Miller won't guarantee anything. He has terrible movies as well despite being an amazing director.

I mean, i have seen ideas around Abrahams' Superman, Aronofsky's Batman, Cameron's Spider-Man were horrible.

I think DC needs someone to tell where to go. Snyder wasn't that guy. I'll never say he is a bad director or has no talent but not the guy for showing the path.

That's why I wish they would've put someone like Jeph Loeb in charge of the DCU.

Look at him now having success with Daredevil .

David Goyer deserves alot of blame too. His terrible IMO.

Riding of his success with Nolan.

It imposible to judge a script based on the movie. That's like a cook making you a bad cup of soup and you blame the person that wrote the recipe. This is why Oscar voters get the screenplays for the movies up for the screenplay awards.

This. I wish people will realize this. Let it burn into their grey matter. No one has ever been fired because of a RT score.
Right now WB is expecting a +120M OW.
if this movie does $75M OW...Zack should be concerned.
if this movie does $750M OW...Zack ain't going nowhere.
While it would be nice to get critical acclaim...as Amy Adams said...they don't make these movies for the critics. They make it for the people who buy tickets.

And heads won't roll at WB because of it. It takes a bomb to do that, this won't be a bomb on the scale of John Carter or Lone Ranger where the audience doesn't show up in the first place alongside mixed to negative reviews.

The last box office prediction i saw was +170M OW

I think if Warner Bros. wants to have success with Justice League, they should change of director or have another director in collaboration with Snyder.

People will be skeptical of JL knowing that it can be as Man of Steel or BvS, I love the movies by the way, but the general audience don't/won't.

We don't know this just yet

I feel like something definitely went wrong in the editing room with this. Soooo many great, great scenes but put together in the oddest way. It definitely feels like stuff was left out.

People are just figuring this out? Da hell?

Obviously it's one of his biggest issues but I suppose I'm fair enough to believe people can improve their craft. It genuinely looked like Snyder bypassed this fault but I guess not.

Isn't it interesting that the previews emphasized the congressional hearings and Senator Finch, rather than the stupid bomb and the jar of piss?

When they made the previews, they realized which sequence was the more interesting one.

Does Superman even say a line in that scene? I don't remember any... The jar of piss almost plays a more important role in the scene than he does, and may well have equal the screentime. They linger on that **** for so long.

He doesn't say anything. I wish Superman had more to say. He always ends up as window dressing in his scenes, listening to others tell him what to do. W

Why can't he be a more proactive participant in his scenes? I feel that made his characterization weaker.

Agreed. It even bothered me during the scene where Perry assigns him the College Football story. He tells him, Clark nods and writes it down, the anti-Superman news broadcast plays, with Perry, Lois and even Jenny giving their two cents... Clark sits in silence with a forlorn look on his face.

Side note-- I really liked Perry in this movie.

I just refused to believe that anyone clapped all the way through this movie.

There is nothing to clap at.

I was at the fan screening, hardcore fans, waited hours to see the movie, so much clapping at nearly everything in the movie

That jar of piss had more screentime in that scene than the film's title character. FFS

If WW and SS weren't already in production, then I'd just simply say to **** all of this and just throw in the towel. The DCEU will NEVER be successful with Snyder at the helm of anything.

Oh, have you seen the movie?

Oh, have you seen the movie?

I will tonight but I say this based on the fact that Snyder is the living incarnate of division as all of his films literally split people down to the very last fan.

If I wanted a country to be divided amongst itself, I'd probably send him in to do the job.lol

Snyder is defending Batman's killings as saying they're more like manslaughter...

Um even the worst lawyer in the world could prove that Batman committed vehicular homicide, given that he was firing machine guns and ramming other vehicles willy nilly.

The only place in the movie where it's ok (in fact, even good) to show Batman killing and firing guns is in the Knightmare. It's showing the worst possible future so it makes sense to show that even Batman is corrupted.

But he's not corrupted, he's behaving in exactly the same way.
