Okay guys lets stop talking about this now. This is a 4-5 year old arguement. Lets move on!

No one is really arguing or disagreeing everyone is sort of just reminiscing really. Seems like everyone's on the same page too.

Anyway good interview from Snyder and glad that he threw in a ton of hints that he's going to stay very reverent in terms of visuals, specifically the costume.

I'm curious to see as to what Snyder meant when he said that their superman has things to figure out but is still a physical cat?

My guess is that he is still trying to figure out who he is, in regards to being a hero and using his powers on a large level to help humanity, but at the same time he's not afraid to unleash a little hell on criminals here and there in the meantime.

superman is a cat in this???

I'm just joking please don't facepalm smiley me it's so hurtful and mean spirited

Not a single time. Maybe he punched a door at some point and thats just a maybe.

He was punched and got his ass handed to him by some punks when they had Kryptonite. That part was really lame. So, so lame. :(

If per chance in Snyder's film Superman is confronted by a villain with kryptonite taunting/shoving him in his weakened state ..."OoooH what you gonna do?? feeling weak are you?" then the de-powered Superman clocks him putting him on his ass, and says "Wow!! that felt really good! For once I didn't have to worry about killing someone." I could totally see that getting a roar of approval from the audience.

Releasing the shots of the suit early on is more for forum dwellers and internet leaks then the general public.

I'm not surprised he wants to beat any leaked set photos, and going to release an official picture early on!

Snyder takes the visual aspect very serious, and he knows that a a bad leaked picture can bring a lot of problems and unnecessary negative comments, since leaked pictures are out of focus, bad lighting, bad poses, etc

He obviously going with an kick ass first picture to make an impression

yep i'd say that is a certainty.

That would be hilarious. I actually hope we get a scene like that.

Best way to go quite honestly.

That's a definitely a great way to interpret it. The more and more it appears that this will be an origin film, the more I get excited about this.

It sucks that it's not being released in Dec 2011 instead.

In any case, I really hope that Snyder doesn't pull a singer by putting a dread off sepia color filter on the film to drain out the colors out of everything.

Right and a few occasionally humorous moments like this along with all of the other potentially great stuff Snyder will likely bring(killer costume) are what could propel this to mega box office hit.

everything I'm hearing is great news to hear.

not too familiar with Snyder's work, but i did see Watchmen, and i do like how he stayed close and faithful... im interested to see what he brings to the Superman lore

Looking at Snyder's past films, you shouldn't have to worry about lack of colors. Most of his films are heavy on the visuals and I don't think he's going to make a Superman movie that's incredibly dark and dreary.

I'm hoping for a very sharp yet colorful palette if that makes sense. I know its possible to do especially with Snyder in charge. I'm literally imagining Birthright/All Star terms of vividness come to life in my mind.

I wonder if Sony Imageworks is going to work on this again. Probably seeing as Snyder/WB has worked with them on Watchmen and Returns also utilized their services.

that's one thing i do want to see... colors.

to me, SR didn't have enough, so hopefully, this will have some... but not too extreme

I love what I'm hearing from Snyder. I'm 90% sure he'll back up his words.

Oh and:
I hope Snyder makes this movie look like a brighter version of Dawn of The Dead and not too studio/greenscreen. Dawn of The Dead is probably the most "real" looking/feeling movie of his I've seen if you guys get my meaning.

Can't wait to see how Cavill looks as The King Daddy Cat.

I'm a color ****e, I love bright colors in my movies. Like, I loved how bright and colorful the recent Star Trek movie looked.

Other than vibrant colors, I think another thing that is a MUST for this film is realistic flight scenes.

One of my main beefs with SR was that they overused CGI models for flight sequences, claiming that when they had done real flight scenes with BR that it came off too television like, and yet the flight scenes in STM say otherwise.

I hope we see a smarter implementation of green screen as we'll need it to see those amazing ground to aerial fight scenes that I'm sure Snyder and team are currently story boarding.

But I agree with you Lone & Herolee if they somehow manage to keep a realistic tone and not make Superman's fantastic feats of flight, aerial fights, preventing destruction, seem jarring then they have won half the battle.

I honestly think Snyder has got it in him. He's a technical wiz kid when it comes to this stuff.

They are going to have to use a CGI Superman for some of the flight scenes, thats just the truth but I do hope that a little more wirework is used and I also hope that the CGI is a bit better.

Speaking of which, as much as I would enjoy anyone staying true to the source material, I hope that Snyder presents a world that seems realistic yet with a touch of the comic factor.

I'm not asking for Nolan's approach where everything has to be realistic and thus limiting on what can and can't happen in that world. I'm just asking that Snyder doesn't make Metropolis look like what Gotham City did back in Batman Returns, Forever, and Robin.

I want to get a sense in a way of what it would look to see a interpretation of how our world could feel like IF we did have a superman of our own flying around in it and saving people.
