As I've said before, it's irrelevant as it stands who is our manager. Woodward, Judge & the Glazers will all still be there & will fail to provide the tools necessary to make any significant progress.

Regardless of whether or not you believe we were fortunate to get 3rd last season, Ole got us there & we performed as credibly as you can all cup competitions without actually winning any of them. He has been let down spectacularly in this transfer market setting him up for failure, just as his predecessor before him.. so my question is what's going to change this time around if we sack Ole & appoint Poch? I mean unless he can turn water into wine & somehow make the vast majority of this squad better without significant additions, we'll be right back here in 2-3 years again complaining about how he hasn't been unquestionably backed.

We're basically stuck in this endless cycle of stupidity until, at the very minimum, Woodward & Judge go.. preferably the parasite Glazers **** off as well.

Owners and execs appointed by or in favour with those owners could be there for a lifetime unfortunately. Unless people boycott all Utd spending and turn off, there is no way of getting through to them. Managers are the only ones who are judged on results. This is the downside of being listed on the stock market and having access to all that cash. The wrong person can buy you.

Call me pessimistic (or maybe optimistic) but I fear Ole will start to pick up points with the team and we will ride that fine line of technically being in the race for the top4 spots but also disappointing enough we're nowhere near challenging for the title. Yet the "top4 within limit" will buy him more time than he deserves and we probably won't see a change until spring at the earliest when maybe everything has gone down the ****ter and we have 5-10 games left.

As much as we are tired of Ole I can imagine he's the dream manager for the owners. You get someone who isn't putting much pressure on them in terms of signings and he's also a useful shield between themselves and the fans. The moment they fire him and get a replacement, all the eyes will be on them to invest, and they actually have to get their hands dirty.
You have a difficult run coming up after a horrendous start. One lucky win against Brighton the only points on the board and 2 abject displays against Palace and Spurs. Unless Ole can turn things around right away Utd will be adrift after 7 games.

While I agree with B's point that no matter who is our manager he will be handcuffed anyways and it won't necessarily mean more trophies for us, I would still like a manager I believe in who can get the best out of the bunch. There's plenty of managers doing good jobs out there who don't have the backing or players to win titles but they squeeze everything out of their lemons and get a decent amount of lemonade out of it. Pochettino perhaps the shining example of a manager who did good at Southampton and then took Spurs from top-banter club to a CL final, and within reach of the PL title. And it's not like Spurs had a team of world beaters, for the most part it was down to Kane and Eriksen when he was at his best.

I don't believe a change in manager will suddenly thrust us into the mix of being favorites for anything but I think we need someone with ideas where it's clear in how we play that the team is actually improving. I would still argue that if the 19 other PL clubs got the offer of switching managers, I don't think any of them would take that bait. (Maybe Fulham or something but let's be real) And I think that's a big problem.

Yeah, I agree with @B too having experienced Mike Ashley for a big chunk of my life. I want him out above all. He’s way more important than any manager. But still while he is here I’d rather have a Rafa Benitez over a Joe Kinnear or Alan Pardew as manager.

'Interim solution' for top-flight games

I would be interested (PPV) but only if 1 off matches were cheaper.

That is an extortionate amount for 1 game, you could pay £7 for a day pass on Sky and get three to four games for that. £15 for 1 is taking the absolute p*** out of fans and such a horrendous time as well, when people are paying £50 a month for Sky or BT Sport already. Typical Premier league though it has to be said.

I’ve found this with all these video on demand pay-per-view type deals. Mulan for £30?! If they were really cheap then I’d probably watch a lot of specific games I wanted to. The money would still add up for them. This way it’s going to be a zero.

Yeah with United being absolute *** at the moment it certainly makes it easier to not pay to watch them :funny: not a hard decision at all.

Just feels like some companies are trying to cash in on the whole pandemic charging rediclous amounts as people are stuck in mostly so think they can charge what ever they like and people will cave in.

I am still in shock at this PL ondemand BS. I say this as someone who once paid 30 bucks to watch the FA Cup final back in 2007.

Oof the worst FA cup final in living memory as well, absolute stinker.

It really is taking the mick at this stage with the price of football, some people have forked out hundreds for seasons tickets and are expected to pay more to be able to watch it now, outrageous.

Yeah, I decided I'd never do that again. :funny:

Thankfully, the next time we were in the final, it was on one of the normal sports channels over here. :D

It's insanity. Utter insanity, and I can't believe this is okay. Because they get to pick the matches.

I think PPV season tickets for your own club would be a decent idea. But they have to look at pricing. A low price encourages a strong takeup and from there habits get formed. Especially back in the Keegan/Robson days I would have loved the opportunity to watch every Newcastle game as it happened.

While this would be better, I still think this is horse crap. Sky is paid over there right? You are already paying to watch.

Yeah Sky is paid and it’s expensive. I have been near to dropping it many times. It’s only the phone app that’s saved it for me as I can watch sport when out and about. The only reason the club season ticket would appeal is it would be giving me something I didn’t already have direct access to. If Newcastle were doing better I’d be interested in that at a reasonable price, while still watching all the other regular games on Sky. But as with most digital content including games and films, pricing is the key barrier.

I am sorry man. That sounds stupid as hell. We have a lot of issues over here, but if I want to watch United it's usually pretty easy and not super expensive..

You need BT Sport as well to be able to see all available games and I don’t know how much extra that would be as I get it as part of my mobile phone deal. It’s crazy that you can be paying all that and you still couldn’t see 3pm Saturday kick offs live all these years despite living in the country that the games are played. :D :csad:

That's just some BS, pure and simple.

I've been tired of Pogba for a while now. Get rid and get someone in who wants to play here.
