ha i love how cappelo and terry have said it was all sorted out in the dressing room. terry claims he walked in asked did anyone have a problem with him and no one had

yeah sorry JT but any major senior like rio or gerrard wouldn't have been there, cole is your best mate so he's not gonna say anything and any younger guys would be to fearful for they're spot

i think any senior players would also not speak up to try and avoid disrupting the dressing room further

in all honesty the only sort of player who would say anything would be a young arrogat and stupid player

What would have happened if someone said "Yeah, I have a problem with it".

he would have been ignored and/or dropped probably..

So how much do you reckon Fabregas is actually worth? I honestly believe the £45 million price tag being floated about is ludicrous. For me I'm still waiting for him to do that special something that will put him up there with the world elite, he's a ton of hype but is he really a better player than someone else at the club like Nasri? I'm not so sure.

Honestly he is worth more then what Torres was paid. Someone will pay 60-65 million for him. Primarily because he brings leadership as well and is a multi-dimensional player.

Exceptional passing, solid defending, killer instinct, penalties, corners...He is what you call a franchise player.

Torres is as well, but Torres will never be the leader Fabregas is today and will probably mature into. Torres also focuses alot of his time with his hairstylist lately, his dry-spell is a cause of it.

I just don't see Cesc's leadership, in fact I think it's a massive part of what Arsenal have been missing. He wears the armband but he isn't a leader.
For 60-65 million you could buy Mascherano and Xabi Alonso, you could get Toure and Essien, you could pretty much buy Suarez 3 times!

£50 million for Torres was way more than he's worth, but you can use indivdual games and his goal record to justify it, I just don't get that from Fabregas.I think he's a good player but I'm still waiting for that breakthrough moment.

I'd say £45m is a fair price personally. The thing is most people tend to underestimate the importance and how detrimental he is to our team, a flaw that can only be blamed on one Mr. Wenger. Most of the time when he is out we look ordinary.

When he does leave, if we haven't got a contigency plan in place, we are really going to struggle, and most likely have to start rebuilding all over again. If this is the case I hope Le Prof realises that a team isn't built on one player. In the future I'd like to see the team built with Ramsey and Wilshere at the heart of it if that's at all possible, though not only built on those two.

As regards to Fabregas, he's also one of the best players in his position, and especially as he is still at a very young age.

You have to consider the market we are operating in here now though. I also don't agree with the ludicrous over-inflated prices that are being thrown around either. But if everyone else is operating at these prices and extortiating all that they can out of the deals, why can't we?

If you don't want to sell & the player's not out of contract, it's up to the buying clubs if they want to pay up. I don't see a problem with it.

Also, you have to remember that Torres was sold in the January transfer window, and you tend to pay a larger premium in that window compared to the summer.

Oh no reason why you guys can't expect that, I'm talking in terms of what you really think he's worth. I struggle to see him at the top table with the best midfielders in the world.

completely disagree, the player can VERY easily force it through and the value often goes down

I'm not sure in the regard. He's still young, and there's a very good chance he will get even better, reaching his peak and having his best years with Barca. So that would need to be considered too, IMO.

An unhappy player is a pretty much useless player - so it's best to get rid. In an era of spoilt 'professional' footballers, there are very few who appear to actually be profesional e.g. if a move doesnt come off they still put in 100% percent for the club that they are still with; but as I said, I think they are few and far between now.

These days [since the Bosman came in] players have all the power and a contract isnt really even worth the paper its printed on.

Used to be that any players showing signs of dissent would be busted down to the B team to see the error of their ways but nowadays clubs really cant afford to do that [especially if the player then just decides to run down his probably rather lucrative contract] and so most reluctantly do then sell the player on in order to obtain whatever they can get.

Can someone explain the logic of having international frendlies after qualifying games?

So Owen Hargreaves is out for another month with a shoulder injury. Time to call it a career I think.

Sucks that he wouldnt be able to play anymore but at least he wont be poor or anything; I mean, all these guys are millionaires so I think he'll at least be guaranteed a very good quality of life from here on in.

Whereas the rest of us struggle to make ends meet like normal people.

I think Fabregas will fetch about £45M, mainly because he is so single minded when it comes to where he wants to go. Personally I don't see him as a leader but he's a wonderful player, great technique, class passing range and an eye for goal. Wenger compared him to Platini and I think that is apt, but he needs a defensively minded midfield leader paired with him more often IMO.

At this point I think selling him and using the funds to bring in a striker like Aguero or Llorente would be good business, I don't think he'd require a direct replacement given the depth Arsenal have in that department.

Bringing in a defensive leader and a top class older keeper should be separate on the agenda.

The best England performance in quite some time, having a fully functioning midfield unit was great, it gave us defensive cover, possession and support for the front 3.

It'll be interesting so see who the first choice front 3 will be if we stick with 4-3-3 long term.

didnt bother watching it, assumed it would be boring as **** as usual

plus i had a hell of a hangover

In that case, you'll be pleased to know that Carroll didnt play >phew< and Johnson had a good game.
