The mighty Jake Livermore, thats right out of spurs' 700 man squad the best we could do was a midfielder whose already been on loan and failed this season at Derby, Peterbrough and Ipswich! What a joke, play offs? You're having a laugh!

Evans - Tackle wasn't good

Jonny Evans insists he did not intend to hurt Stuart Holden after acknowledging his tackle on the Bolton Wanderers midfielder was not 'good'.

The Manchester United defender was sent off during last week's 1-0 win over Bolton for the challenge which has left Holden facing six months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Holden has absolved Evans of any blame and the USA international revealed earlier in the week that he had received a 'sincere' phone call from the centre-half.

Evans admits he was quick to realise he was guilty of a poor challenge and the Northern Ireland international hopes Holden appreciated his call.

"I just said (to Holden) I was sorry, and that I didn't mean to go in and hurt him," said Evans.

"At the time I did think I'd gone in for a fair challenge and I'd won the ball.

"But looking back on it when I went straight off the pitch and into the changing rooms and saw the tackle again, I realised it wasn't a good tackle from myself - and my concerns were immediately with Stuart.

"Bolton's doctor was keeping me informed, and gave me a call on Monday.

"It was disappointing to hear the news, (so) I just rang him straight away to apologise.

"I think anyone appreciates a phone call if someone's caused them an injury.

"Not many footballers like to be on the treatment table, it's just unfortunate that someone else has caused an injury to you."

Apparantly, Rio Ferdinand might be back in time for the CL game's with Chelsea. Huge gain for us.

Very much so.... Though Vidic & Smalling would be a worthy alternative, having Rio back would be great.

I have no problem with Vidic and Smalling usually, but for some reason, Vidic has serious issues playing against Torres. Every time he plays against him, he implodes somehow. Smalling is fantastic, but he needs a stronger partner to look after him and play off against, whereas Rio is completley compotent any which way. Not sure if that made sense, but I think you get what I mean.

i fully understand and agree...

Yeah Vidic has a tendency to sometimes fall apart and do something stupid. I'm surprised he hasn't had an own goal this season.

whats this now? Buffon to Arsenal? Is Arsenal finally taking the EPL trophy serious now?

Haha :woot: at least you're honest!

What are you making of promotion this season? We keep on blowing it but luckily the teams below us do aswell, I worry about our home games against Burnley and Reading. I think Snoddy and some others need a rest but we haven't got the squad (or maybe the manager) to really change things around. The only good thing I can think of is that Billy Paynter is banned for 3 games!
Up until the Sheffield UTD game i was quietly confident that we could sneak 2nd place but now i think we might have to settle for the play offs (although if we get to the final we will **** it up), we are lucky that the past 3 weeks all the other results have gone our way and the other teams around us are not in that good of form either. Snoddy does need a rest and Howson has been nowhere to be seen the last 2 games too so he needs one as well. I like Grayson but this season has shown up some of his shortcomings in his tactics and not addresing the pisd poor defence. I dont really rate him in the transfer market either as his only successful signing is Mad Max. If we dont go up this season i will be really dissapointed as it will be a massive missed opportunity.
For ***** sake, Norwich sign a promising prospect with a huge reputation in Daniel Pacheco from 'pool, whilst we sign some Tottenham reject. Yet another championship club gets a big loan signing, whilst we get left with the scraps. We're meant to be a big club yet we can't seem to attract any real talent!
Yeah Livermore does not make me sit up and think Prem League here we come. I dont believe that Leeds United cant attract players like this so its either Simon Grayson cant recognise quality players like these that Norwich have got or Ken Bates is not willing to get his check book back. Bates did alot in saving the club but now i feel he is holding the club back..

Just got tickets to Man United V Chelsea April 12th Champions League second match :D

It's most likely paper talk, but I would love it if it were to happen. Buffon and Szczesny as our two main goalkeepers sounds good to me.

Almunia will find a way to eliminate both of them.

So honestly, what do you think happens with your keeper situation? You have Szczesny who seems like your new #1, Fabianski is still around and then you have Al.

I'd love to have Buffon with Szczesny as his understudy. Buffon has become rather injury prone in recent years, so there's a good chance Szczesny would get a good amount of games. Fabianski is also very injury prone, so I can't see him playing the majority of games in a season consistently.

Most likely though Wenger will just stay with what we've got, and if that's the case, I'm hoping Szczesny is given the no. 1 jersey.

Hopefully we can get rid of Al in the summer, he was on the brink of leaving in January from what I understand, before Fabianski went out long-term.

So I don't know how many of you follow the NFL, but there's a whole labor situation going on and the season might be in jeopardy (probably not). Either way, one player Chad Ochocinco has taken to the real football pitch and is on trial for Sporting KC of the MLS. Here's a video:

Yeah Mad Max and Somma seem to be the only ones who have really done well and Grayson doesn't even play Somma for some reason! I Love Grayson, he's passionate for the club and I love the way he handles himself you never really hear him moaning about decisions. But for all that I'd trade him in for Neil Warnock or a Billy Davies in a heartbeat, if we had experienced guys like them who can adapt their tactics and make decent subs at the right times, we'd be up by now!

As for Ken I think he's done as well as he can, the club was in such a state when he first arrived that I think the only way we'll ever get Thorpe Arch and Elland Road back and then have money to invest nto the squad is if a middle eastern billionaire buys us out. Apparently the FA Cup games against Arsenal are paying George McCartney wages, I just wish we could've got a refund!

George McCartney send him back... But with Grayson some of his decisions puzzle me, such as getting players in like Nunez, Clayton, and McCormack and then never playing them. So what was the point in getting them in the first place. Also Becchio as looked jaded the past few games so i would start the Forrest game with Somma.

Never understood the Nunez signing, he brought him on for one match, he looked good and has never played again despite getting a new contract! Be interested to see how he does for Scunny. McCormack played abit during Christmas and was awful, but he's just starting to bang them in for the reserves so maybe he can come in for the end of season run in. From what I've heard the team for Forest will be

---------------------------------Kasper
Lichaj-----------------Bruce------------------O'Brien-----------Johnson

Snoddy----------------Livermore-------------Bannan-----------Max

----------------------------------Howson

------------------------------Becchio/Somma

Johnson at left back would be quite good, he seemed to do alright there for Macca. But we'll see

Arsenal's keepers are a travesty...Aside from Szczesny I mean, even though his aggressive style can cost the team goals.

Fabianski and Almunia are just mistakes/mishaps waiting to happen. I'd never trust these keepers with world class talent on the other end coming at them. These guys probably freeze in that moment of time or make blank faces as to show a clueless emotion.
"Yo, what just happened?"

As an Arsenal supporter...I am leaning more to selling Fabregas now and getting 2 or 3 top flight players that actually want to be here. Although i have no idea where Barca will fit Fabregas with Iniesta and Xavi out there...Would Fabregas enjoy being a CDM most of the time? Doubt it.

I wouldn't mind that either. However, the chances of Le Prof actually going out and buying 'said' quality players is slim to none. We'd also most likely have to change our set-up and approach too. I will continue to slate Wenger for building the team around one player, I mean how irresponsible is that.

He'd most likely wind up getting splinters in his backside sitting on the bench. However, I'd presume Pedro would be the one to make way if he was given a starting spot. They'd move him to Iniesta's position with Iniesta moving to the right. They would most likely play interchangeable roles though.

So how much do you reckon Fabregas is actually worth? I honestly believe the £45 million price tag being floated about is ludicrous. For me I'm still waiting for him to do that special something that will put him up there with the world elite, he's a ton of hype but is he really a better player than someone else at the club like Nasri? I'm not so sure.
