so england beat wales, so of course that means you are now favourites to win every international tournament that is to come

I hope when he goes for Adam Fergie remembers what he said about how much he should cost in January when Liverpool were after him.

''His corner kicks are worth £10million in themselves''........................

Somehow I dont see Fergie remembering that little gem of quote when it comes to Utd making a bid.

;)

I don't understand how Mancini could be requesting £100m for transfer funs consdiering the next window the the summer one & by then the FIFA Financial Fair Play rules will be in effect & don't quote me on this but doesn't that mean that clubs can only spend football related money & only spend within their means..?

I mean off the top of my head alone, last year they couldn't have spent a penny had these rules been in place because I believe their wage will was something like £120m & there income was only like £100m... meaning their wage bill completely eclipsed their annual turnover.

Then there is another portion of these financial rules that is something along the lines of a club is not allowed to lose more than £30m a year.. so thats another £30m chopped off any transfer budget.

As far as I understand it, clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona & other top earning clubs will be firmly in the driving seat when it comes to how much they have to spend on transfers because their profits & finances are for the most part in order. Last year in particular I think United's operating profit was reported to be something like £130m if I'm correct, say for arguments sake they included the Ronaldo transfer funds in those funds that's still a £50m profit which if I'm understanding correctly.. is what we'd be allowed to spend which would probably only be rivaled by Real Madrid & Barcelona's spending money.

This is why Chelsea forked out £50m for Torres & £30m for Luiz in the winter transfer window, because they know that come the summer they won't be able to be endlessly funded by Abramovich.

Hmmm...Heard we've apparently agreed a deal with Bolton to sign Gary Cahill in the summer.

I was watching Goal II right now and was thinking of you VP. I'm sorry. :csad:

and they get round this by the owner handing them 300M in a sponsorship deal. therefore they have it as an income

So... Capello calls Gerrard about the captaincy... but not Rio?

WTF man?

I'd like to think that FIFA will have the common sense to stop loophole issues like this.

Capello is an idiot though to be fair.

If I were Rio, I'd retire from international football to spite him because of how poorly this issue has been handled.

I agree.... mean he could focus solely on United

Hes picking up alot of injuries as well in recent seasons so having a break instead of playing for England would be more benifital to him if he wants to continue on until hes about 35/36.

Well to be fair, Capello was at Old Trafford to talk to Rio and Rio was the one who refused to meet him or so I heard.

Haha! Well we all know what really went down in that match at the Bernabeu, so...

:cwink:

Yeah, I thought it was cute that Beckham made the game winning free kick. We all know what really would've happened. Slip on a rock, lost his shoe, distracted by a balloon etc.

that was AFTER he'd made the decision to change the captain... he should have spoken to Rio BEFORE the change...

Yeah that's all well and good but these are all grown men. Fabio ****ed up, fact but Rio should have at least been the bigger person and talked to Capello. Maybe he would've offered an apology. This whole thing is overblown and ridiculous to begin with.

sorry, but if Capello can't be bothered to talk to Rio.... then why should Rio go running about after Capello?

But he's not, Capello went to him. I mean, maybe I'm not as passionate about this as you guys over there but there seems to be something I'm missing. Capello has already said he handled this situation horribly, he went as far to try to see Rio personally to discuss it and Rio refused to talk to him, which I'm not denying is his right to do so but sometimes you have to be the bigger man and just end the drama. I mean, we're still talking about this which I find to be ridiculous.

Capello only went to talk to Rio AFTER the change was made... not before... Had he tried to talk to Rio before the change & rio wouldn't talk to him... then it would be an entirely different matter...

So there's no such thing as forgive and forget? He ****ed up so that's it, there's no way for him to apologize and move forward?

a simple 'sorry for ****ing you over' isn't good enough here no...

Why would you facepalm a move for Sneijder or Adam? Sneijder has already stated he wants to play for United before, and Adam is a top notch midfielder.

The facepalm for Sneijder is because there is no way Inter will sell, as for Adam, as I said before, he's a decent player at Blackpool, but now the narrow Jan market is over both United and Liverpool can aim much higher.

Hmmm...Heard we've apparently agreed a deal with Bolton to sign Gary Cahill in the summer.

I know you're not sold on him but I'm gonna stick my neck out and say I think he can be that CB leader you've been missing.
