In related news....

...do you think there'll be a rise in the amount of Scott/Jean fics? The fanfics from X1 were largely about Rogue/Logan pairings. But now Logan didn't really have tangible chemistry with anyone (except Stryker, but I doubt we'll see that. ). Storm and Nightcrawler might get some, but I'm thinking there are a lot of loose ends in the Scott/Jean storyline, which fanfic writers will try to patch up.

There are two archives I've liked over the years....

X-Men Movie Fanfic Archive which has separate sections for Scott and Jean (I recommend a fic called "Personal Demons" ). I like the student stories there, too.

And Agony and Ecstasy. I hope I got the URL right... Finding Scott/Jean fics takes a bit of digging, though, but they usually post the pairings in the index pages, so you don't need to open every fic.

And then there's Minisinoo's Medicine Wheel

And then there's my site... I've put some of my favorite links up there as well as a list of recommended fics...

But that should get you started.

Re: the fanfic. Actually I don't think it was a sole Scott-Jean one. i think it had to do with the kids. I'm not a big fanfic reader, and wouldn't have usually been the sort I'd read but it was really well written from memory. I'm sure thats the one (I've fused a few different things together in my memory so I may have recalled the wrong one. But you recommened it before .. amonth or so ago)

On my website I keep a recommendation page of fiction related to Scott and/or Jean, for those of you looking for fiction and reluctant to wade through archives. With S/J in movieverse, though, it's often as much a matter of FINDING it as wading through the craploads of badfic. There are several archives for Scott in comicverse, including RedShades and the Itty Bitty Cyke Archive, but for movieverse, while there were a lot of Logan/Rogue rec sites when I created mine, none for Scott and Jean existed, so I made one. It combines recommendations for movieverse AND comicverse. I recently updated it, too, knowing the film was coming out. Go here:

As for Scott's reaction to Jean's death. Actually, two years ago I wrote a novel called <i>Climb the Wind</i>, loosely based on the ILIAD, that dealt with Jean's death and Cyke's capture. There's even an attack on the mansion and another little "surprise" at the end that echos X2. ;> And no, I *don't* think there was any deliberate correspondence between X2 and my story. Just coincidence. Maybe I'm prophetic. <GGG> Anyway, the novel won three awards. It explores what I think Scott's reaction would be to losing Jean. (I was a bereavement counselor for years, so it's a definite case of 'write what you know'. LOL!) It also shows Scott getting to be the LEADER, dammit.
