PREACHER
It seems like it's been in the works forever and now actor James Marsden said it might be close to happening this summer. While talking to MTV.com the "X-Men" actor said he may soon get in front of the cameras to star in the movie version of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's "Preacher."
"Right now it's in one of those weird Hollywood states where financing is still kind of questionable at this point," Marsden told MTV. "But they keep threatening to start [filming] in June, so if they do it, I'm thrilled to be a part of it."
Marsden has been attached to play the lead role of Jesse Custer since last summer. "Tank Girl" helmer Rachel Talalay has been on board the project for many years as well. She would direct the feature from Ennis' script. The movie had previously targeted production starts in 2001 and 2002. Let's see if 2003 is the charm.
Marsden said he's drawn to several of the mature themes of the books, including the relationship between Custer and Tulip and the religious issues raised in the book. He also likes the fact that John Wayne's ghost is in the story.
"I also like the bravery in Garth Ennis' writing. Hes not afraid to tackle the hypocrisies of modern religion and things like that," Marsden said. "A couple of people have said, Boy, if Garth Ennis had created a religion, I would sure like to be a part of that. It just makes sense, the way he tackles things in it. It's really heavy stuff [and] it's incredibly well written."
The actor said he's definitely looking forward to playing the part, should cameras rolls this June.

Well , about Scott and Jean's scene in X3 ... I would like to see a re - encounter first and after a love scene , doesn't matter it is on the x - Jet or in their bedroom , well coud it be in fornt of everyone on X - team , but it'll have to be PG - 13 ... they can put this scene NC - 17 on DVD ...

I can't say that I know a lot of The Preacher ... but i'll see every movie of Jimmy ... 
It doesn't matter who is his character ( just Cyclops matter ) or if he or the movie is bad or good ... just with Jimmy ... with him on it every movie is great ...

Actually, what I'm really interested in seeing is how they handle Jean's *return*. The scene I'm most curious to see is their reunion, and not because it'll necessarily be romantic. It might be, or might not be. Depends on how they frame it. I'm interested to see how they use him -- and dear God, I hope they DO use him -- to create tension about Jean's growing powers.

Yes , I think the scene of their reunion will have a lot of emotion and he will feel aliviated and a little strange .... I don't know ... what I think they will put on Jean's powers is compared what they are putting at the comics right know ... and I think she will be able to control it . For Example : in a battle she will have the power to use Phoenix powers and she will liberate more when the fight is against them ... she will be able to control how much force she 'll let "escape" ... she will be a little different I agree , but she will ( still will be ) be Jean ... and I think Scott will sence it and see it ...
The Phoenix force exists because her powers ... I don't think they will trasform here in Dark Phoenix in this thrid movie ... and I don't think she will die if and when she will turn Dark Phoenix ( like I said I think they will put Phoenix now and not based on the old comics when Phoenix entered her body to protect the crystal and all that ... ) , because if so , Jean will die too and this time for good or for bad ...

I don't think the Phoenix will have much, if any, resemblance to the comic canon. One of the producers said "she's given the ultimate power to do whatever she wants. It'll be a matter on how she uses that power". So it'll be a loose connection.
