X-men Evolution (a cartoon) is simply the name for that particular series. It involves many of the X-men when they were younger and in highschool (similar to the X-men movies), hence "Evolution"...evolving...growing...getting older, etc.

I only saw the original cartoon when I was pretty young, but from what I remember it was very good and I liked it alot.

However, I also really like Evolution, though it seems less serious than the original cartoon.

IMO, the Evolution cartoons allows to showcase more of the younger mutants, like Jubilee, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Toad (the animated version is more disgusting than the movie's, but it's funnier as he tries to woo Scarlet), and it has even presented Havoc, Cyclops' brother. The cartoons also presents Scott and Jean as sweethearts, Logan as pleased with such relationship and Nightcrawler wearing a certain holographic device for looking "human".

i like x-men evolution better because i can realte to some of the problems they go through, obvisouly not mutant powers and stuff like that. but when they feel left out and made fun of, espcially in season 3. and the fact they are also teenagers, and they scott and jean relationship is something that most teenagers will go through, i know im going through a similar situation at the moment.
plus its funnier, kurt makes me laugh all the time
