I couldn't get into yahoo most of the day. I was locked out completely, as was my daughter who was very upset about it. Had nothing but spam anyway, but it's the principle of the thing.

And I recently had this thought. I don't want it to be true but I am sure that every one has read Jimmy's newest interview where he says that he thinks that every one is coming back but the exception of one. What if that one is him? Cyclops took off after Jean's death for a while. I didn't even think about it until last night when I was trying to figure out if there was any hint to who it was in the interview. I know this may have been discussed. I'm always late because of all the air in my head. I really hope it's not though. But he could know that because they told him already.

It's most likely not Jimmy, since there are many others who serve less to the story. Scott's girlfriend is the Phoenix, so I think that pretty much guarantees Jimmy a prominent spot in X3.

It looks like he's against a blue(green) screen there, and it sort of looks like it's from the scene where he's flying through the air after Jean gave him a mental shove. (When he blasts the humvee?) Those things sticking out of either side may be part of the flying rig.

They have actual pictures of that though, I think these are publicity stills for the posters.

The other part of my thought about the whole some one not coming back would be if they were to film X-3 and X-4 simultaniously and he isn't in X-3 but will be in X-4. I doubt but like I said I'm always thinking the worse, but really that wouldn't be the worse. The worse would be if he weren't in any of the rest they film.

Cyclops talks Preacher & X-Men 3.

June 16, 2004 - In a forthcoming interview with IGN FilmForce's Jeff Otto, actor James Marsden talks about possibly reprising his role as Cyclops in X-Men 3, as well as another comic book-to-film adaptation he's attached to star in, Preacher. Here's an excerpt:

IGNFF: Do you have a start date for X-Men 3?

JAMES MARSDEN: No.

IGNFF: Halle Berry has said she would need an expanded part to come back for a third. Is that a thought for you as well or does the likelihood of the Phoenix Saga mean that already?

MARSDEN: If I had to guess, and I know the writers very well, and this would be purely speculation, that they would probably go into the Dark Phoenix Saga. It seems the natural way to go with the evolution of the comic book and with what happened at the end of X-Men 2. And I think that's probably where they're going to go and I think that if that's the case, I'll have some good stuff to do. But I have no idea. I just have an inkling and I've just talked to the director and the writers and they hinted that, that that's where it's going to go, but it's so hard for me to get emotionally involved, but my coming back wouldn't be contingent upon them using that storyline. I'm very grateful to be a part of that whole franchise and I'd be a part regardless.

IGNFF: Are you contracted for a third film?

MARSDEN: Well, the problem is, and what I think they are trying to work out now is, I think pretty much everyone signed on for two pictures, the first and second one, so now that it's a huge box office success, the actors are going to come back and probably ask for money, so they're trying to figure out how much they can pay everyone. But I don't know that they're at that stage yet. I think they're really just trying to wrap their minds around a concept and what storyline they'd like to do. I know Fox would love to have Halle back and I don't know what that whole story is, but I know that everyone, cast, producer, director, Fox, executives, everybody knows that there's something that's really magical about this formula that we've got going: the cast, the director, everybody, and they don't want to mess it up, I know they don't want to change it up, so that's good. They just like to take their time with it, which makes it harder for us because we really don't know what's going on.

IGNFF: What is happening with Preacher as of now?

MARSDEN: I am. I'm still kind of going through my deal, but we're supposed to shoot in August. Another comic book movie called Preacher. Very, very big following and some of the best writing I've ever read. Really dark, very dark, not for everybody. It challenges the kind of conventional religion and things like that. A very cynical piece, but some very brilliant writing. Right now we're kind of trying to figure out how to go in August, but I don't know for sure yet because we're not finished with everything. So, when the movie gets made, hopefully I will be playing Preacher. If it gets made, it will go before X-Men 3.
