If what you say is true, you forget the fact that he could have easily avoided this nonsense if he simply, you know, TOLD Dave all of that.

But that's BS, because he had the other interview at the SAME TIME he would've had the one with Dave. :o

Duh, yeah, that's because when Katie Couric calls you to talk about the economy during a period of potential national collapse, you take it, even if it means canceling with Big Dave.

Don't get me wrong, I like David Letterman a lot, but I don't agree with him on this.

It's also one thing to cancel and STATE THE REAL REASON WHY. You don't say 'Well I have to go save the world now, sorry about missing your show!' saying that you have to fly back to Washington instead. When you then appear live on another show...but then again I wouldn't expect you to see it any other way. I don't know why I'm even bothering to discuss this with you. Republicans can do no wrong in your mind...and everything always has a logical, reasonable, and let's not forget - non-partisan - answer. :whatever: (Non-partisan only when it deals with the defense of Republicans.)

First, you sound silly, because you're quoting David Letterman - NOT John McCain. Second, I watched the segment and David nowhere near directly quoted John McCain, and if you believe otherwise, then you will believe anything and there's no point to even further discussing this. Lastly, you're reading a lot into what a comedian says. David Letterman's job is to entertain - not report the news.

Lazur, spit out the kool-aid and realize if it was Obama that canceled an appearance and it got out that he said it was to fly to DC and he was just over in another studio...

You'd be going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on......... about how he lied.

:applaud

That's because if it were anyone but a Republican...it would be inexcusable in some poster's minds. :whatever:

So who thinks that the debate WILL go on as planned?

Thanks, for a little bit I was thinking that I cut out to many 'and on's.

That's because if it were anyone but a Republican...it would be inexcusable in some poster's minds. :whatever:

Yeah, everyone gets that now... we just have to wait a little longer to understand that nothing we say is going to work and it will just bring on rants that deal less and less with what people were talking about.

You're wrong. I would expect any Senator to do his or her job.

In answer to your question Marx: I have a feeling that McCain will show up. He'll be forced to, because he can't afford to let Obama show him up that badly.

The reaction I've seen to this so far really hasn't been that good. Especially with them saying they want to use the delay to postpone Palin's debate with Biden. I would think that it's in McCain's best interest to show up on Friday.

No.

Time to turn the tables of putting words into other people's mouths.

You would be saying if the entire position was flipped and Obama picked Hillary, was behind in the polls, had gone so negative and blamed McCain for not agreeing to his debate schedule as the reason, completely changed his tune about five times in the last weeks, and then pausing his campaign to then go back and talk about the plan clearly politicizing the whole thing in the process while he touts 'Country First' (and stays in NY, mind you, he wouldn't be rushing back)... that it shows Obama is just trying (and desparately) to win the election at all costs just to win instead of actually believing he can do what is right for the country.

You're wrong. I would expect any Senator to do his or her job.

Now you're getting the same broken record from Matt.

Didja complain when Bob Dole was running for president, instead of staying in the Senate? Didja complain when then-governor Bush was running for president, instead of dealing with governing Texas?

So who thinks that the debate WILL go on as planned?
McCain will probably be real stubborn about it for tomorrow, acting like he won't be there. The truth is, he'll have to show up. If Obama shows up in Mississippi alone, then Mississippi come election day will have some serious misgivings about the Republican party. To be a no show in a state like that shows a serious lack of commitment to your country. He's supposed to be there for these states who have very real concerns to ask him about.

Except he's not just a Senator anymore, he's his countries representative as the Presidential nominee. Only one of them right now is taking that seriously.

Wow, you all really cannot see what's happening here, can you? You really don't see how brilliant a move this was by McCain?

Just wait until tomorrow. ;)

Oh, please, indulge me, oh wise one, what exactly will happen tomorrow

Like being interviewed by Katie Couric?

:thing: :doom: :thing:
That's a big part of the job. Lying to Letterman is too, don't you know that? Oh, and so is suspending things. Like debates, campaigns, and denying media access. All marks of a great leader: quitting when behind, and lack of communication.

Don't you know that Katie Couric is a tough interviewer? She was the host of the Today show fer cryin' out loud. She works the count with the change up, then catches you with the knuckler.

And they're underhanded.

McCain's not missing it. He'll see soon enough that people aren't buying this "Zomg I'm suspending mah campaign for a week to save teh economiez!" crap.

No one is buying it now, no one will buy it next week when the economy is still in recession.
