The Punisher Pushed Back - December 5th

Holy crap, you're right! How could I have not seen it before?!?!

This movie is gonna suck because Ray Stevenson hasn't done a "box office blockbuster" before! Man, your logic is amazing! Thanks so much for opening my eyes!!!

:whatever:

Movies consisting of actors who aren't big names like Brad Pitt are more appealing to me. And there have been succesful movies with casts that don't consist of A-list names.

I really don't care if it makes no money, I just hope Lexi delivers a balls to the walls Punisher film that the character deserves.

I thought you said you didn't care if it was sucessful??

anyways,... the movie must be good enough to keep the punisher movie franchise going.
if it dosen't make at least 50 million box office it the end of the punisher movies maybe for good.

I think this movie can do that but it's not just the fans here,..... it has to be a more broader audience. Decemeber it's as bad as it seems.
trust me.

Not to be pessimistic, but there's no way to continue a franchise when it's been a failure to launch two times in a row. We're still trying to see if there's an audience for this.

who's this "we" that's trying to determine if the punisher has an audience? wtf?

i don't think the 89 punisher can be in any way seen as an attempt to launch a punisher franchise. and as for 04, it actually was going to be the start of a franchise seeing as how this new film was originally supposed to be a sequel to that. that means the audience is in fact there and now this reboot is the last attempt to turn this into a franchise. if lexi alexander finally delivers a solid and profitable punisher film, it might finally happen.

You're right...I guess Batman Begins was a huge failure.

I'm just saying that it dosn't matter if you have a great actor to play a charecter, if the story is S#it the actor is going to look like S#it. Simple logic really a three year old could figure it out... but then again I guess I'm expecting too much.:whatever::oldrazz:

So, I'm surprised there wasn't anything for Punisher at the Comic-Con in NY this weekend.

Did anyone go that might have seen if they had any kind of promotion?

Gale Anne Hurd has revelead at NYCC that PWZ will have a panel at San Diego Comic On!

Good to know! Excuse my ignorance, what month is the San Diego Comic Con? I've never been so it's not locked in my memory bank.

I've never been to a comic con before. I'm sure it would be fun to go to.:woot:

I've been to A comic convention in LA one time but have yet to go to the main ComicCon convention.

Hopefully we get a trailer shown at this one.

Agreed. I did like the one with Thomas Jane though. I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. With this one, I don't see it going anywhere.

this one has to be better than Jane's version (which I liked)... by default they can't go a step back...

Under a new writer/director/team...it's very possible.

I'm excited to see a trailer for this but don't ever think that because it's yet another try at the Punisher that it can't be worse than the first two.

Wow, this thread came out of a long coma. But it's actually a nice idea to bring it back, since I didn't know when Punisher was supposed to originally come out.

Personally, I don't think that this lineup of movies is really much competition, but Righteous Kill's plot, at the surface, might draw a bit too many similarities to Punisher War Zone.

PWZ's December release date is probably one of the best things it has going for it. It's up against NOTHING.

I don't know, like I've this attempt at counter programming could hurt it. I say they might as well hold off another month and release it in January.

First thing that came to my mind...

who remembers the "typo" on the marvel site about the movie being released January 2009?? haha makes me wonder that maybe thats been the "master plan" this whole time was to release it in Jan to kick off the new year. I wouldnt doubt it...not at all.

Now that i think about it more...that wouldnt really be a good idea at all...seeing as though TDK is getting a re-release that same month

Whats up with the thing where you can have your own band in the movie? Theyre picking the best unknown band to play a song?
