Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The RATINGS Thread - Part 2

We'll get renewed. I need more of this show. I have spoken.

You are correct!

SHIELD lost two tenths last night:
0.9 rating, 3.12 million viewers

very poor result. If it's already fractional now it'll be getting some TV test pattern-like ratings in the spring.

Kiss this show goodbye.

series low 0.7 rating, 2.342 million viewers last night

pack it up, this is the last season

So you see a future for S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Absolutely. I’m very bullish on S.H.I.E.L.D. and we’re also really excited about our production with Marvel, ABC Studios, and IMAX, which we are working on for next fall as well.

With a very expensive Inhumans show upcoming, it doesn't appear as though Marvel is going to be abandoning ABC anytime soon.

Keep in mind that RT score doesn't measure quality, it measures if it is well-liked (meaning, higher RT scores don't mean better shows). Now that often correlates because better shows are liked by more people, but a 100% fresh movie or show isn't the greatest movie or show of all time. If every single critic gave something three stars, it gets 100%. If 90% of the critics gave something five stars and 10% gave two stars, it'll get 90% even if the average score will be better. Metacritic tries to also measure quality, Rotten Tomatoes is trying for something simpler (I usually view it as "what are the chances I'll like this.").

I heard recently that the rt scores for movies considers reviews that do not have critic ratings has well,so overall the rt scores could be considered just as useful as the critic scores.

Generally, I just can't take seriously the suggestion that AoS is equal or better to the Netflix shows. The quality of acting and cinematography alone are just not even in the same ballpark.
I disagree.
AOS to me is on par with the newflix shows when it comes to stories and clearly the action on AOS on average is better and more varied then the mcu netflix shows that's for sure.
Superhero shows are not watch just only for stories, but for action too.
I think some folks forget that here and AOS is a show with alot of action.

Anybody remember the average critics ratings below the rt ratings?
The average critic ratings for aos is on par too with the netflix shows, not just the rt ratings.

Watch AoS or AC and then watch the Netflix shows. Can you honestly tell me they are the same quality? The Netflix shows are far superior in every way I can imagine. I don't even see it as close.

Like i said,i disagree and i watch all of them.

The Marvel Netflix shows are of higher quality (writing, character development and acting wise) than Marvel Studios'

feature films. AoS has steadily increased in quality with each successive season I would rate it a solid 7.5/10 and the Netlfix shows are 9.5/10

I would give aos a 9.5 as well.
Jessica jones maybe a 9,daredevil season 1 around a 9.5,but the whole show could have gone down lower because i heard season 2 was not as good.
I still have not watch the last episodes.

I would say on average the mcu shows are stronger then the mcu movies or other marvel movies, but there is a few mcu movies that i think are stronger then the shows overall.

Of course even if those movies are still stronger, there are individual episodes that could be as strong or stronger then any mcu or marvel movie.

For example it's possible to give the avengers or civil war a 10,but no show i could think of could really be a 10.

For a show to be a 10,every episode would have to be a 10 and i think it's not possible for every episode in a show to be a 10.

There is always a episode even in a really good show that will be a 9.5 or 9.9 etc..bringing down that show out of the 10.

It's easier to give a movie or even maybe a short mini-series a 10,but not a show.
Trust me i seen folks on this website that have given movies a 10,but never every episode a 10 of any show no matter how good that show is.

Note- when i rate i try to keep it as simple as possible
Here are some examples.
1
1.5,
2,
or
9
9.5
or
10 etc.
I try to not rate things anymore like
2.2
9.9
9.3 etc..
I try to keep my rating system as simple as possible these days.

You know when i mention the rt score,i should have mention or posted the average rating as well from the critics and audiences.
You could check out the rt scores from the audiences too,not only just critics on RT.Anybody that says the netflix are better or way better then aos,i can't take seriously.
I think peggy carter, aos and the netflix shows are on par.
Now some shows or seasons will be a little stronger then others.
Now which ones you enjoyed better?
That's up to you,but don't confused your enjoyment of a show or a movie with how good it is.
I see on the web and in real life alot folks can't separate the two.
For example,i enjoy man of steel more then any batman film, but the dark knight for example had a stronger story then man of steel.
Get the point?
Good.

Anyway most folks rarely change their minds when comes to stuff, shows, movies anyway but at least you know there are others that think things differently or have different views.
If you look on the web long enough for example you could folks that do not like the mcu(shows or movies) or do not like the dark knight, and think they are bad,so-so etc..or think the dc movies or x-men movies are best or like them.
You could always find someone on the web that enjoyed the Punisher: War Zone movie and thought it was good.
I thought it was good and enjoyed it.
See what i mean.
That's life.

Of course i have my own ratings just like everyone else.
The audience has more correct,of course i have my own ratings.
I think the audience ratings for season 1 for the average rating should have higher.
It's still high but still should been higher.
Of course i have my own ratings just like everyone else.

I don't think aos is as dark as the netflix shows, but overall they are darker then mcu movies on average.
Season 4 has been darkest season overall for aos yet.
Not every mcu movie is light as well.
Some fall in middle and even the lightest ones have some darker moments.
Anyway the mcu movies overall in tone is closer the movies superman the movie and superman 2.
Some mcu movies are darker of course.
By the way john campea from collider heroes does not like jessica jones at all and he gave that show 3/10.
He thinks jessica jones is bad show but still could improve for season 2.
Of course i disagree with him strongly too and of course with alot of other things he says.

Now let's get back on topic, because i said so.
Anyway i only came back here because i heard the good news that agent of shield mayget a 5th season.
I am so happy.
I only came back here to see what some others had to say, not for anybody to change my mind on how good i think the show is.
Trust me, i have my mind made up already about that.
I think it's really good show.
AOS is one of the best shows on network tv.

The Netflix shows are more grounded and serious. I do think the Netflix shows are better produced and pacing is better. But that just comes from not having to deal with a 22-episode season with commercial breaks.
Incorrect.
I don't agree with this.
I remember everytime i looked at some reviews there always certain folks complaining that some episode of netflix mcu shows felt like filler.
Of course i don't agree.
For a show like agents of shield to have more episodes with commercials with less filler than other superhero shows that i have seen on network tv,i find that more impressive then the netflix mcu shows and other superhero shows.
AOS feels more like watching movie then netflix mcu shows and have just as less filler or less filler with more episodes, plus i did say aos story wise, acting wise on par with the netflix mcu, plus on average better special effects and more of it and more varied action.

Another point.
Marvel’s Netflix bound TV shows to cost a whopping $200 million
Assuming the budget is spread between the five series equally (although it would make sense to spend a little more on The Defenders miniseries), each episode will feature a budget of roughly $3.3 million. That doesn’t come close to touching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s ridiculous budget of $14 million for the pilot alone, but it is in keeping up with several other, high-quality shows.

I edited/added info above

Opinions.
Well of course, but like i said aos to me has stronger stories then dc shows.

I do enjoy all of dc cw superhero shows and the dc show izombie.

Of course i enjoy all mcu shows too,but like i mention before agents of shield and luke cage i enjoy the most.

I could see Dr Druid popping up on AoS someday.

Ratings for 1/17/17 episode:
0.6 2.0 million viewers, a 27% drop from last week.

I guess I'm not the only one that hates the LMD story with ratings like that. Although, I don't know what they were expecting bringing it back in January, this typically isn't a high TV month.

The latest episode was beaten by repeats of NBC/CBS! While the other shows in ABC also aired repeats and all of them got a better rating than Aos!

So a 0.6 for three consecutive episodes is just bad!
