The Resident Evil Thread - Part 2

Alright, managed to get access to the US Video Store. But since the 10 minute previews won't play for me, I'm not sure if any videos that I'll buy will actually work on my PS3. Since the Video section is region locked, the same could probably apply to the digital downloads.

I just googled this and the Video Store is region locked. So if you are using an US PSN account outside the US, it won't show up for you.

where are you from? Im in the US so Im using the North American store
Brazil.
I use the north american Store, the brazilian Store and the japanese Store.
According to Nathan, it's as I thought, region locked. I'll have to wait until my country does it too.

So this is where I am right now. I can access the video store, I can buy videos, after some stupid message popping up saying "Connect Storage Media to Save Destination" and plugging in an external harddrive, I finally managed do save the videos. But I can't watch them. Wasted $7 only to get 3 separate files that say Corrupt Data and are only 6KB large. Actually, I only got two files. One Episode I downloaded of Robot Chicken, just to try it out with $1.99 an Episode, is nowhere to be found on my harddrive. Not even a corrupt data file.

After all this nonsense, I think I'll go and blow off some Zombie heads.

I played Leon and Chris' campaigns. The camera is just too close to Leon, which made me feel dizzy. And with Chris, the camera is situated in funny angles. Haven't played Jake yet...and I may not bother lol

ORC was HORRIBLE. I bought it and sold it within 2 days, as I was planning on keeping it originally.

If this is the future of Resident Evil...I think we are united by a common fear...There is no hope left :D

How close are the cameras? Like RE5 or closer? That was one aspect I didn't mind in RE5. Because it narrowed the view and you really only saw whatever direction you were facing. Makes it easier to get surprised from behind, and facing up-close whatever is grabbing you. Puts you more into the shoes of the character.

ORC, yeah, it isn't a good game, though I do have my fun with it. Heh, that's probably how people feel who like the Movies. As long as that type of game remains as a spin-off, I have nothing against it. It's fun to play as an elite team in a Zombie infested city.

As for the future of RE, it doesn't look good. But as long as there are handhelds, there'll probably be the occasional survival horror game. Like the last one for the 3DS.

Closer than before, and its situated in this odd angle, either going too far up or too far down.
The laser sighting has been changed as well. Now it's like ORC where it moves at it's own accord and it's hard to get a perfect head shot.

ORC was a good concept and idea, just executed poorly.

I think Capcom will have to go back to the drawing board. I say take Resi back to it's roots.

I agree, I'm not digging this new game play style whatsoever. The damn camera angle is all over the place as Chris when I wish it'd just stay fixated like RE4 and RE5. I think my hype for Resident Evil died when Wesker died :csad:

For that to happen, the games have to stop to sell. Just like the Movies. As long as they make ****loads of money, there's no reason to change the concept.

Yup :(
It's sad to admit, but I'm just not loving it that much. If this demo was made to convince me to buy it, it's failed. A rental it is, I guess...

Unfortunately, that's true. I see lots of fans who want it to go back to the way it was though. Resi was about subtle gameplay, not jumping behind walls and firing at Zombies with rifles.

Yet, 4 was excellent...but they haven't improved anything that much.

I'm sick of the whole partnering up thing and campaigns as well

I want it to follow what Resi 4 did, but go back to running around by yourself in the lonely eeiry streets and buildings. Why can't they take a break from sequels and spin offs, and just make a remake of Resi 2 or 3 in the style of what it is now, with improvements of course? Fans would love that

The only I like from 6 is that you just press the right back button to heal.

I couldnt find much positives about the demo at all. Just a bunch of negatives. I dont like that the default speed is a run, i dont like that the players weapons dont have a holster, i dont like the camera, i dont like "zombies" that shoot back at me. Man, im disappointed in that demo. Looks like my preorder gonna have to get the boot. Which i guess is good, cuz now i can get like Borderlands 2 or something.

This is exactly what I want. It's what I wanted since I finished RE4, but didn't get with RE5 and still won't get with RE6.

you'll get that in Ada Wong's campaign as they said. each is separated to be what was in former games. Her's is in there and it's reminiscent of RE4 . back to the borderlands live stream for me. Enjoy you all.

I want the MAIN campaign to be like that for the entire game.

Well I guess they thought it'll make them selves feel unique some how. But if you really want that, hopefully they have place a for us fans to tell them this for the next one. So you can make sure they actually listen and you 'll have what you want.

I know I find weird when they say/claim they do events where they speak to fans and I know for sure not everyone is heard and I see some one like you saying what they really want is disappointed later with the chose of game play wise. That's if they are doing that at all and it's all just talk.

does anyone know if the demo has offline co op with a friend like re5 demo cause im trying to find it and cant

I tried the demo again, 360 version this time. I don't know if it is because I got used to the game's controls, if it was because I played as different characters, if I'm more comfortable with the 360 controller, or if that version of the game is just better, but I didn't feel like I was wrestling with the camera and controls the entire time and I had a bit more fun with it.

I don't know... the game seems fine I guess. Based only on the demo there are still some very questionable things in RE6, and an uncharacteristic lack of polish, but it doesn't seem offensively bad. There are even some really cool things about it, like the quick shot and all that diving/sliding stuff.

I may pick it up sooner rather than later. Definitely used though to vote with my wallet/send Capcom a message.

The main thing for me was enemy placement. In RE 4 and RE 5, every enemy appearance/location felt very deliberate and solid. In this demo it felt very sloppy, all over the place. They would just be anywhere and everywhere and the AI seemed really bad, so there was no pattern. This was particularly noticable in the Chris demo when you'd have a bunch of cover in front of you but instead of hiding behind it, the enemies were just running around like nutbags in the background. That and if you stand far enough away from an enemy, he just stands there and stops shooting.

I enjoyed Leo's campaign and Jakes seemed cool but I died straight away and couldn't be bothered to restart.

I think I'm still going to get this, at the end of the day it'll still be fun to play through with my flatmate and my brother will KILL me if i don't have the new Resident Evil to bring to the house for Christmas :P

Leon's campaign was fine. Got through it with not problem really.

I had to stop playing Chris's because the camera was just making me wanna barf and give me a headache. Not to mention I just wasn't feeling the style of play it had going for it.

I've not tried Jake's yet.

Something else I liked that I noticed my second time through the demo is that some of the dialogue and cutscenes will be different depending on which character you choose.

Trying the demo right now. Who's ****ing brilliant idea was it, that you can only change game settings in-game? -_-

You can change the settings before you're in a game.

I know, but it would be nice if you could pause the game, when you find out that you're not completely happy with the settings after all. I don't want to have **** blowing up around me, while I want to increase the brightness or change control settings.

Not sure what I'm going to do. Didn't seem as terrible as I expected...But Leon's demo, while decent, was extremely predictable and easy IMHO.
