The Resident Evil Thread - Part 2

I need to play Chris' part again, with sensitivity put at default. I increased to the max and then didn't find a way to reduce the sensitivity in-game. It was like a damn roller coaster ride.

I may end up waiting until it hits 30...or for a "Gold Edition" rerelease. I have Borderlands 2 now and that will take me a while to beat with my buds...RE6 isn't needed right now. Plus, I'm kind of ticked at Capcom for sticking it to Mega Man...

Tried the Demo again and had a much better time with it, just leaving the sensitivity at default, it's still darn responsive. The thing I absolutely loath though, aside from having to change game settings in-game, is the lighting. It's horrendous. Even in broad daylight, I often barely see the enemies who are standing right in front of me, because they are so dark. I always have to take a second look to spot the enemies. It's especially bad when you enter buildings.

You really notice how bad it is, when you just look at Chris. Anything of him that isn't exposed to direct sunlight, is almost pitch black.

Well...This demo IS an early build of the game though, right? I mean..Early early... I'm going to give it a chance I think...Hopefully things like the lighting will be fixed finale version.

Don't you guys prefer to rent it first before spending $60 right away?

Well, I already decided to wait for the Gold Edition.

Eh...

1.) No real place to rent around me.

2.) I've never been big on renting. I either go all the way or not at all. :oldrazz:

I'll probably wait for the reviews to hit. I can still return the game day of if I decide to not pick it up.

The only places that rent up in north America over all are all Gone. And Block Buster is nearly dead up here too. And there's just one online store that rents Games which is Game fly. Alot of us are used to the actual stores you walk into and all there is up here are mostly "Best buys" & EB Games/ Game stops etc(lesser known). there's not a lot of chose to do that any more .

You have to just keep your apprised with reviews and while you've already pre ordered already or just wait for the former and take what they said(multiple sources review wise ) along with word of mouth, and then see for your self after all that's done, to see if you like it.

Did you try adjusting the brightness?

I guess it's early compared to the final release, but I don't think it's as early as you're thinking. This a completely different demo than the one that came with Dragon's Dogma, and they made this new one specifically to show off some changes they made because there were so many complaints about the older one.

Did you try adjusting the brightness?

I did, but that doesn't make it really any better. The whole lighting just feels unnatural. Any shadow cast in this game just feels really dark, despite the surroundings being totally lit up. For example, I increased the brightness all to the max, sunlight was shining through the windshield and I barely could see the dashboard of the jeep I was sitting in.

Anyway, played for a 3rd time and I'm iffy on the controls again. Best word to describe them is wobbly. I honestly enjoy the Operation Raccoon City controls a lot more and those were already mediocre.

Good points I like about it.

I like Leon's campaign. I liked the silence and terror into the unknown aspect. Which was like the old days.

I like the kicking, an honest lifesaver.

I like how you just press the back button to heal.

I would give it an 7/10 for Leon's part alone.

The thing is. I just wasn't blown away by it. I was seriously underwhelmed.

Is that really a wise choice? Considering what you experienced with Capcom games needing a dlc code to unlock extra disc content
Financially it's a good decision

I only got to play Leon's today, but I really enjoyed it. Felt like RE to me

I don't get all the hating on this title. I had a lot of fun playing it at Comic-Con and E3. Reminded me more of RE4.

i played the leon part and really liked it. was a bit to dark at times which made it confusing, but hell added to the atomphere

Just finished it. Ehhhh.

Too dark, camera's too close, controls felt chaotic. Shame.

Played the demo last night. While I noticed all the same problems everyone is discussing here I wouldn't say they're deal breakers or anything.

The running is annoying, you have to adjust the brightness or you can't see sh**, and the controls for switching guns and supplies will take some getting used to. But I'm still looking forward to the game.

Did anyone else laugh out loud during Chris' campaign when the big monster crawled over an arch and it collapsed? :funny:

Well, who knows, if the end product isn't much improved by release, this could be the game to get them back to the drawing board after all.

Once you get used to the controls, it's pretty fun.
