The Resident Evil Thread - Part 3

Low on ammo only works in the context of the story and character. A soldier with minuscule ammo doesn't make sense, but a police unit that's just called in to investigate a mansion? Yeah, they wouldn't have too much ammo.

That's what i mean. Capcom apparently does listens to some of the fans complaints and attempted to do something about it...they just did it the wrong way.

Like you said, it doesn't work on Chris campaign because there you have to fight off hordes of enemies, so their attempted 'survival mode' just became annoying.

I'm driving after Ada, and no matter what, she keeps going faster, too fast for me to follow
Do I need to take a different route that is hard to see? I took the only route in view
Jake and Sherry campaign is by far my fav.part of the game! enjoy!

One tip: learn everything about what Jake is capable of! he can do more, combat wise, than what you learn from the tutorials on the screen.
Cool, thanks for the tip

RE6? Wasn't Resident Evil. Here's my wish list for RE7

Stop with this campaign ****.
Stop the multiple characters. RE4-5 showed us that you can do all the things as 3 characters in just one.
Stop the partners following you. Didn't need one in RE4, don't need them at all. Takes away the fear factor.
Stop the COD ****. Because this attempt at making it like COD - Gears Of War is just a waste.

Make it more like RE1. Low on bullets. No more partner to make you feel safe. Pitch black spooky place. ****ting yourself because you hear a zombie around the corner and don't want to venture round...just for a zombie of all things!

Capcom is going to do something different with Resident Evil. RE6 more or less bombing guarantees that. The question is what? I feel like that depends heavily on another game....The Evil Within. If that game sells well, it could show that pure survival horror is still viable. The problem is, after RE and Silent Hill became mainstream, we saw a ****load of copy cats that basically oversaturated the market, resulting in Capcom moving away from Survival Horror to the next big thing (GOW type shooters). If The Evil Within shows that survival horror is ready to return to mainstream success, Capcom may try to move the franchise back in that direction. If it doesn't....my guess is we are looking at a pure GOW knock-off as the next RE game with a VERY heavy focus on multiplayer.

Yea they have to get back to the way this series started. After playing the REmake over the last few days, i wont play another RE title unless its similar to that.

I think your right Matt in that theres a lot riding on TEW and how successful it ends up being.

My mind is programmed to think of "God of War" seeing this, it took me a while to remember "Gears of War"

Pet peev if mine is when GoW is used for Gears. God of War predates that series and is that acronym is more apt for it

That part is VERY tricky. You need to keep up at certain speed, avoid getting hit by missiles or bumping into things. Accelerate immidiately when you see the prompt.

I didn't mind RE6 as much as you guys seem to.

I found it's only flaw to be much like some of you guys have pointed out. The 4 different styles was just too much and it really shows it was overbearing for Capcom.

I'd at least like to see one more game to wrap up the plot holes (and boy are there a lot) of the current storyline before we talk reboot.

I know what every one here want's but what capcom's concerned with right now is how this does

Resident Evil: Revelations Demo Coming To All Platforms Next Week. May 9, 2013 . 10:00am

Resident Evil: Revelations is getting a demo next week

and to them it'll set the path for what they need to be doing from now on, but yes I do think TEW if it's successful along with it when it comes out will have in influence of some sort. but that's where capcom's focus is at right now. they they only seem to pay attention when something is successful.

Unsolicited advice to Capcom:

More randomly generated areas/rooms/monster placement, less scripted events for the next RE.

Hmm, Unlike other dev studio's and publishers, capcom doesn't have people roam forum's like the hype here. your better off letting them know on their forum instead. And now that they are actually communicating with their fan's for a change you 'll be heard and might likely see that happen.

This was also another of my few issues with RE6.

I get the line of thinking that it's better than a cinematic, but every other moment was ''PRESS X HERE TO KEEP THE PLANE FROM CRASHING."

Did just that, the ***** distance increases more and more
Removed the game from my system, for now

I played the demo for Revelations on the Wii U just now. It's really short, but the game plays good. Can't wait to get it next week

Iv been playing the REmake lately. Its absolutely tragic what has happened to this series.

The move towards more action oriented games COULD'VE worked...look at res evil 4.

They just can't seem to find the right way to do it as of now.

In some way the move to that direction has made the franchise more popular-recent sales of res 6 notwithstanding-as oppose to, say, Silent Hill, who sticks to the original premise and now seems to be stuck in limbo becaue of it.

Yea RE4 had a nice blend, but im still finding i enjoy the REmake over 4 by leaps and bounds. 4 was too linear, i love the feeling of being in this huge location with nothing really pointing you in any one direction. I really think they should get back to exploration being the big part of the series, we havent really seen that since maybe RE2.

Id love a beat for beat REmake of the REmake, with maybe just a change in the camera position. Give us the OTS perspective and allow us to pop zombies in the head, but keep everything else the same. I just love that damn REmake.

RE4 was highly overrated and the beginning of the end for this series IMO

Played the entire Revelations demo (it's short). The graphics looked pretty decent for a 3DS -> 720p console upgrade. The FOV still needs to be increased more if I had my way but it's tolerable. I played on the normal difficulty and could have went higher in hindsight as normal is easy. Using the scanner there's tons of ammo lying around everywhere. I wonder if there's puzzles in the game but somehow I doubt it. Overall it seems a respectable entry, like Resident Evil 4-lite. I'll wait for a sale but I'll get through it eventually.

RE4 is still a great game, but yea, imo it was responsible for moving RE in a direction it had no business going in.

Yea i just got done running through the demo and overall not a bad experience. I just really hate those ooze enemies. I just think theyre pretty lame. I might snag this when it gets a price drop but idk, im just not too high on this series at this point. Think ill stick to the classic games in the series.

Yeah the monsters don't have much reaction to being attacked.

Two other things I liked is the lack of bombastic set piece nonsense that's defined games like Resident Evil 6. Also, in the demo, you could explore a whole other area of the ship that's totally the wrong direction for a while before hitting a dead end.

I remember when people in the RE community thought the released version of RE4 was an April Fool's Joke. Its been almost 10 years now.

The fact that you've got Osmund Saddler (O.S. = Oswell Spencer), a character model that could easily pass for Nicholai Ginovaef and a model that could pass for Sherry Birkin...the Plagas looked a bit like the tentacly things on Lisa Trevor (Progenitor with something else added in the case of the infected villagers/cultists. Maybe Nemesis Parasite?)...it really felt like a big WTF decision and was a big WTF moment when I played RE4 for the first time.

Im not saying its a bad game but I kinda wish they had just made it a spinoff instead of the next numbered main entry in the series, which the subsequent titles followed.
