I rather have all Resi games on Nintendo, considering they're all pretty good. Wasn't that struck on Revelations, but still.

Because Hudson Soft had such a great abundance of active IPs and games before Konami finally put them out of their misery? The reality is that they were an out of date publisher that lasted far longer than they should have. Capcom is no Hudson. A Konami-Capcom merger would probably be more along the lines of the SquareSoft-Enix, Tecmo-Koei, and Namco-Bandai mergers than the takeovers of Hudson, Taito, or Atlus by Konami, Square-Enix, and Sega where the megapublisher just absolutely absorbed the much smaller one.

I would prefer if Nintendo bought them out. I'm sure they could do a lot of Capcom's older franchises justice.

Acquiring Capcom's IPs would really fit with Nintendo and fill in some holes in their portfolio (like the lack of more adult-leaning IPs). But that said, I think it's time for Nintendo to get bought out as well. Their backwards-ass ways of thinking have really resulted in Nintendo being screwed from here on out and it would be best if a tech giant like Google or Apple bought them or just have Sony or Microsoft get them and live on Nintendo's legacy.

Possibly, but I'd still be pretty nervous to see Konami take over or merge with any company after that. Though I don't know how realistic the possibility really is anyway.

Nintendo getting Capcom wouldn't be a bad idea at all, but with the struggling sales of Nintendo stuff, I don't think they wanna drop the coin to get Capcom.

No, just...no.

Nintendo has the funds to do it, but they'd have to approach it from a long-term investment standpoint.

No, just...no.
The industry has changed dude and Nintendo is still acting like it's 1986. Video game consoles just aren't video game consoles anymore, they're online multimedia hubs that provides all forms of entertainment and Nintendo just doesn't get it the way Sony or Microsoft do. And putting out hardware that is a generation behind two times in a row is just terrible business when you need to be putting out the same content as your competitors do. And it really pains me to say this because I am a huge Nintendo fanatic. Nintendo clearly had the best E3 this year by a mile over Sony and Microsoft and yet I don't see their amazing content saving them this time around.

Google or Apple would be ideal for buying Nintendo. They have the corporate cultures that would allow Nintendo to still be Nintendo while providing Nintendo with the hardware insight of creating a console that is relevant in today's industry. And it would still allow for three major competitors. Sony would also be a good fit because they would clearly treat Nintendo's top tier IPs and top tier studios with the love and respect they deserve. Microsoft admittedly though has proven to be not trusted when it comes to buying developers.

Yes, yes, Nintendo: doomed since 1899.

But really, no. Not only should it not happen, the probability of it happening is, I'd say, probably pretty much 0%

Nintendo eventually caving in on themselves will happen if they don't change their ways. If they're not going to get bought out or acquired, they really need to change the management and go about a completely new strategy that hits with today's audiences. Now I'm not saying that Nintendo should go mobile like so many ignorant people are saying, but they need to have a console with more relevant hardware, a more relevant online strategy, and at least make some strategic acquisitions of classic and Western developers.

Sure, but they've got so much money, that their next 4-5 consoles could all flop, and they would still have money in the bank.

I do hope they change things up, though.

Ya'll will hate me for this...but I think Resident Evil needs a reboot...by a new developer. Enough with the horrible plots and poor dialogue.

I mean, can you imagine Rocksteady doing a Resident Evil game? Wow.

I dont think that's a bad idea bc I don't think Capcom has been the best for the series.

If there's one franchise that can use the touch of a western developer, it's definitely Resident Evil. They should have rebooted that, instead of Devil May Cry.

It cant be any worse than what Capcom has done with the last few entries.

Im almost at the point where i think the expiration date on the series has come and gone. So they might as well ditch any "new" titles and just give us old fans updated versions of the early games and then just call it quits on the series.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a merger with Konami or Nintendo would be a better fit for Capcom.
I was think the same

Konami would be the worst possible thing to happen if what they did to Hudson is any indication. Nintendo would be a good move for Nintendo. They have and still work with Capcom on a lot of projects, and Capcom potentially has several franchises in key genres that Nintendo doesn't. But it'd be strange to have Capcom's output being restricted to one console after being a very multiplat company over the years.
well that just leaves Nintendo. and they did infact state they were looking for partners It would be a smart move their next smart move and they should they are interested in doing more adult like ip's like Devils third.

oh and the peep's at EPV.TV just stated on that Now Loading video of their's that they will be doing more game play videos and that in their own words
feedback and suggestions are all welcome!

I'm not sure if Nintendo buying Capcom would be such a good thing. It will most likely mean any future Capcom games will be Nintendo console exclusive. And while REmake is often considered to be one of the best RE games(if not the best), it had low sales due to being Gamecube exclusive.

Capcom being a Nintendo subsidiary would be awful IMO.

But you're not looking at it from Nintendo's perspective. Sure, some of the properties may not sell as well if they're just Nintendo exclusives, but it would help push Nintendo in general.

And even if Nintendo bought them out, that doesn't mean it would have to be exclusive to Nintendo's systems. It could mean that the Nintendo version of Capcom games could have exclusive content, or even be released 1-4 weeks earlier on Nintendo's systems.

that was cause people already wrote them off as only doing stuff like mario which the same mind set people view Disney (oh they will never allow for adult like themed shows or movies and yet Marvel's doing Ok there.) eve til this day. and when people showed others the Game cube had games like Rain bow six and Red steel those same people acted with shock I met some people at work that did just that, with jaws dropping it's kinda weird that happened . mostly a promotional issue, back then too. ad those people were Xbox fa boy saying this ad later the fallowing year I see they bought the game cube cheap din d't help much since it was way after ad people moved on to another Nintendo but it was funny to see.

You dont pay millions to buy a company and then release those games on other systems. Exclusive Wii-U content isnt going to sell the Wii-U and its games. You do realize many third party games already do this? Wii U sales have not benefited from it. Its mostly fluff.

And if they bought Capcom, then they would be the publisher on their games. You really think Nintendo is going to pay for marketting, packaging and promoting for other platforms? It makes no business sense why they would and they might as well kill the Wii-U if they did. IF Nintendo were to ever buy Capcom, any and all Capcom games would be for Nintendo consoles unless Nintendo stopped making those and became a third party publisher like Sega

A Nintendo purchased Capcom would only benefit Nintendo, not Capcom. Nintendo however has many of the same outdated Japanese issues that Capcom has with failing to adjust to today's gaming landscape and for this reason I dont feel they are the right ones to take ownership

But I dunno, I can just se Nintendo actually doing the IPs justice. If someone like MS gets their hands on it, I'm sure they'll rarely use, or just throw away most of the IPs. Look what they did with Rare. The killed off Conker, they haven't done anything worthwhile with Banjo, and they killed off Perfect Dark.

what havok said is true though Trav the only problem it would solve is nintendo have a in house studio (one of may it desperately needs) and cap com have a publisher to take the load off of financially but it would be exclusive to nintendo. but part of of the market they sold to would be lost un less they some how start doing well again some how which is iffy. not impossible but iffy.

Well, if you're reading the rumors today, it looks like MS is eyeing the buyout the hardest. And I can see them doing it, too.
