Those are the main characters. While Wesker is the main villain of the series but wasn't actually a lead in any of those games. Ada, Carlos, Josh and Rose were either supporting or side characters. Someone should actually be playable for majority of the "main" game to be called a "main character".

They abandoned it after the 2nd game.

I remember playing RE3 for the first time in the PS1, and wondering why there's no character selection.

To clarify, it sounds like the player gets to choose if its first or third person. It is an option in the game.

It's really cool that you can change perspective anytime. Apparently during this particular segment, the game was referring to first person as the recommended choice. That might be the case for the entire game, but with all the murmurs about a second playable character with more action-based gameplay, I'm guessing the recommended option for those sections will be third person. This is all just very exciting.

I don't know Alyssa well. I've never finished Outbreak but I remember using her for a short while. Its nice that they went back to a character of that game, and connected her to the lead? of Re9uiem.

I wonder what happened to the Jill and Leon rumors, surely one of them must still be in this game?

Makes sense they would recommend a specific perspective for certain segments of the game.

Grace gameplay for survival horror = FPP
Leon (or whoever it is) gameplay for action horror = TPP

After Re9uiem in 2026, I hope we get the next remake in 2027.

It would make sense in the story too. We start as Grace and everything is very RE7 survival/horror because she is new to all of this stuff and then at some point we get the perspective of character 2 (Leon, Jill or whoever) and it's more RE4R action/horror because they're a seasoned infected killer by now and they probably have access to better weapon(s).

Yeah, I think Capcom is trolling again. Why mention Leon, specifically? All the other veterans are just as ill-fitting for the gameplay they've intended for Grace. We've only seen survival horror stuff, but it's been mentioned by both Geoff Keighley and promotional materials that there's also CINEMATIC ACTION in the game. After the comment that that dev made, I'm pretty much convinced that Leon is going to step in for the more high-octane portion of Requiem.

I don't know how much Leon will be in it. But every Resident Evil has at least two playable characters. Some have shorter sections then others, but it always happens. Including in 7 and 8.
