The Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul(discussion thread)

Don't you even ****ing joke about that, you son of a *****.

I'm being completely serious. Have two characters that look exactly the same; one a longstanding character, the other, a weird little new guy. Add comic book science and POOF...

Ra's Al Ghul inside Tim Drake's body and a weird little avenger. You KNOW this is going to happen.

Well, that'd finally kill Tim off completely, rather than the slow character murder he's been going through over the last couple of years. At least it'd be over for him.

It'd be great if Morrison proved me wrong. Unfortunately, it rarely happens. There's a clear-cut path through the long-lost child device and 99% of the time, writers take it. Remember, Damien's story isn't over yet.

Oh, and when you mentioned that I pretty much described "Batman and Son"? Keep in mind that I haven't read any of Morrison's Batman issues. That's how trite and overused this plot is.

Well it depends on where it's used, on a Sit-com, in the end we would find out the kids not really his. It could be worse, it could be the old "Everyone pretends to foget characters birthday so they run off and almost miss their surpise party storyline"

no he's not. the issue didn't even prove anything.

anyways!

bat-mite to the rescue!!!

Personally, my jury is still out on Damien, in the big picture, he creates a heckuva lot of problems that I don't even want to think about, but the one moment of his that I absolutely loved was "Pompous Old Man. My father will break you into pieces when I tell him you're back." There is respect and pride there. Yeah, it was annoying as hell when he kept mouthing off to Bruce during BaS, but after he was verbally spanked and put in his place, I think he was actually quite proud to have Batman as his dad...as he should. It is going to be interesting to see everything he does during the storyline.
Haha, yes!

I absolutely agree. When I read that I knew I liked Damien. Long live the true son of the Bat.:woot:

anyone read the recent issue, batman apparently entered the fountain of youth, slow age? ever lasting youth? Robin 169 is goingt o adress it. oh and this issue was bad ass, he still took out the old man with both arms being broken and blind.

:wow: I was pleasantly surprised at the turn of events in #671, although the last two pages were a bit confusing! What caught my attention:

Ras calling Bats family and saying their destinies were intertwined. Bruce didn't seem to disagree this time!

typical Ras. Willing to kill or destroy his bloodline in one minute, then save it the next.

Was this the Sensei that trained Bruce??? Poppa Ras???

Didn't "get" Talia's non reaction to the whole thing, by and large. And Poppa Ras said something about a squabbling brood of daughters! Hmm...do we know them all?

Still don't like Daimen (nor am I sold on him) but right now his character is reminiscent of a scared child raised in violence and hate, not knowing what to be or do. He was raised to be an adult with neither life experience nor judgement to understand what he's doing. And an amoral mother doesn't help.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ras ends up in the 'perfect' body for himself, whether that be stolen or created with some version of his own dna. (I think the latter would appeal to him more)

Poppa Ras was pretty stupid, wondering why he burned. All those centuries of experience and knowledge and the dope didn't know his 'bad' soul was gonna make him rot? Nice bone laying on the ground there.

Be interesting to see the relationships from here. Very interesting...

And people, Bruce in the fountain of life! O...o...:wow:

*sigh*

getting a little tired of Bruce constantly sliced up, shot and whatnot. Getting to be saturation and overkill. Or he's an idiot that needs to develop a stronger outfit, its getting ridiculous.

You know who the third Batman is right? Look at that shadow. Look familar?

I can see it. Goddammit, GAH.
First appearance Batman

well i already had guessed that because of the ears. thought you had something more interesting.

batman was indeed revived by the fountain, does that mean he appears and internally younger?(aka body of a 25 year old in peak human condition)

No, I think it just fixed up his arms and ****.

Is it just me or did Ra's take the body of a monk who came to help him?

Well it depends on where it's used, on a Sit-com, in the end we would find out the kids not really his.
It's not his. It's a test-tube baby. It may be his progeny, but it's not his ****in' son.

I doubt it, it looked like he got rejuvinated, ras was planing to use it to rejuvinate his body and he did therorize that the lazarus pits was an deriviation of the fountain. i think it did more then heal his physical injuries.

Yes Ra's took that guys body and went whistling on his merry way.

And by progeny, you mean .............. son. Because technically, what you said means Damian is still his son.

No it doesn't. "Son" implies ever so much more than "progeny." ****, you can be someone's ADOPTED son, but you can't exactly be their adopted progeny. "Son" is about the emotional connection, the bond between parent and child.

Progeny's just biological.

Indeed, thank God for solicitations that spoil every story before they're even finished...
