Comics The Return Of Eddie Brock

This may be the least shocking news I've heard in awhile.

I'm a little mad that they're bringing him back, despite the fact that we all saw it coming from about 20 miles away, simply because I was just learning to love Gargan/Venom, what with his appearances in Thunderbolts and Civil War.

Still, I do want to see Gargan/SCORPION versus Brock/VENOM one good time.

Honestly, I just want to see some good Venom stories from this. If we get another "Venom is a good guy" story (mid-nineties), or another uber-lame "Venom is just going to bide his time in the shadows" story (Mackie), then I'm going to just scream.

The Hunger was pretty good, and I liked that it added a layer to Eddie, but I want to see him being viscious...and unpredictable. I miss that.

The Hunger was like the only good arc since Michelinie.
I'm not gonna hold my breath for anything good, Gargan/Venom has been entertaining to read though.

making gargan the new venom had absolutely nothing to do with revamping the character or by any means trying to add credibility to the character. Which ever writer was signed on at the time was told by the marvel higher ups to do what ever they want to do with the symbiote as long as venom looses it and gets it back in time to coincide with the movie....and if for whatever reason the movie had nothing to do with it....it was just to give brock/venom the comeback that marvel would bank off of....cus everyone knows EVERYONE LOVES VENOM/BROCK

 Worst spidey vllian ever. Overrated too.

Where do you guys hope to see Brock go from here? Anyone want to share some plot ideas? Story arcs?

I'm happy we get Scorpion back. Now I just need to hope he is used...
I'd really hope we get some sort of mini series or one shot about Gargan, He went from B-lister to A-lister, and now the powers gone and he's no longer a big a threat as he was.
For someone whos life is all about that kind of thing, I'd like to see what it does to him mentally... will he raise the bar and become an A-lister on his own?

He knows a lot about Pete now, and he also knows a lot about Eddie. Who will he be out to get? Will he try and win the Symboite back?

then stay the **** out of the thread
Why? Did I say he sucks? Did say that I hope they kill Eddie? No. I used to like Brock until his story got worst and worst. Don't you dare tell me to stay out of a thread unless there's reason to.

then try explaining yourself next time rather then make an empty statement knowing its going to piss someone off.

this isn't another bash venom thread where people get to wine about how venom is an awful character....the marvel characters that are popular, are popular for a reason

Do you really need to have this argument on the Internet
You do understand this is how a lot of good threads die, right? Two people argue over something unimportant for a page or two, and everyone either forgets what the point of the thread is, or just gives up looking at the new posts that have been sent.

I understand that COMICBOYS post was an empty statement, but if you wanted him to not keep posting in the thread you could have ignored it, or, actually asked him why he thinks that.

It's not an empty statment. Doc Oct, Green Goblin, and Venom are all overrated and Overexposed.. That's what makes them "the worst." Vemon is very bad as a character because of the reasons he goes after peter. They are all his own damn fault. Saying that, it doesn't mean that he can't change, but the writer is really gonna have to step his game up.

my apologies...BUT DONT BE DISSIN VENOM

Not a big deal. I just really hate typing too many words because it makEs me think too much and my head starts to hurt. Seriously.

Anyway, I agree with COMICBOY.
It seems like the same old thing every arc now days. I'd much rather GG, Ock and Venom where left alone, that way I'd be excited everytime I heared they where going to be in the book insted of rolling my eyes and sighing.

come on....how many other countless villians fall into the exact same mold..u cant single out spidey villains

It's not only spidey's Villians. Just that since this is the spider-man forum, the other villians aren't being mentioned.

agreed with the typing thing....thats why I never post

Don't get me wrong, I do love Venom. I've always had a soft spot for that kind of bad guy, the opposite of the hero.
I loved the Hunger, it gave me hope that he was going to be written better after it, unfortunatly I was let down.

I hate the GG stuff thats happened the past 2 years aswel, the best thing to happen to Norman is being put incharge of the New Thunderbolts.

I'll agree on Venom. But Ock and Goblin overrated?? Come on. Unlike slobber face, they've actually earned their status as villains by actually doing stuff to hurt Spidey.

As for the over exposure, who is the villain who is ALWAYS the lynchpin of Peter's misery in some way?? Norman. He definitely suffers from over exposure.

You call them the worst?? So, who's the best, The Spot?? :oldrazz:

It's your opinion and all, but to call them the worst just because of over exposure, is stupid. If that was the case, the Joker and Dr Doom are the worst, too.

I have two questons;

1) When can we expect Eddie Brock/Venom?

2) Is he in good hands?

Those are my two concerns.

My internet has been working crappy lately and everything takes forever to load, such as the link provided.

Dr Doom as well is on my list. I like Shocker. I think better things can be done with him.
