Comics The Return Of Eddie Brock

:wow: woooooooooooooooooooooooah tht pic is sooooooooo evil but awesome :D:D VENOM WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Those pics look awesome, especially with Venom hunched over May.

I really hope venom kills May.

1) May's been a great supporting character but her death is long over due. This is a woman who, in the 60s looked so frail that if she sneezed, she'd snap her hip. There's no need to drag her life out anymore. If she dies, at least she knew Pete was spidey and has been there to give sound advice and support.

2) Venom killing May would definately launch him higher up in the rankings of the rogues gallery. Venom as a character has been a joke for long enough, it's time to give him back his mojo. The stories and events that can stem from Venom murdering May can lead to some of the most potentially profound and entertaining stories written in a long time. True say, why would venom kill may now? Who knows, who really cares? The fact is, venom is a villain and he's a killer. I'd be satisfied with venom simply embracing his killer instinct and dishing out the hurt that he should have done from the get go. Screw honour, respect and mercy. Venom primary target is spider-man, if he wants to torture, destroy and kill spidey, he needs to go all out, no holds barred.

However, simultaneously, how spider-man will react is even more exciting. Will spidey seek unforgiving vengence by consciously trying to and going through with killing venom? There are various potentialy awesome ways this can be handled.

Honestly I cannot WAIT until Sensational Spider-Man # 38 and # 39. I do think it's cheap and everything with the movie on the horizon. It's always cheap when they do this before movie time...but anyway...back at the ranch....

I can't wait until Brock comes back and gets back into the symbiote. Because that means that it leaves Gargan. And then that means that Gargan can be Scorpion again. Then, hopefully, someone does a story where Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Spider-Man are in a three way fight and we finally get some closure on the fight.

And then...yes...we can all forget Mark Millar's horrid Marvel Knights Spider-Man run. :woot:

Here, here! :woot::up:

Totally agree with everything you just said. Especially the part about Millar's mess that was his MK:SM run.

That cover is sweet! It should be interesting just how (if) Eddie gets the symbiote back. I can't wait to see what happens.

And Venom uk, how did you lose 9k last time?

I stopped using my Venom_uk s/n a few months ago when I hit the 9K mark. Then somehow, my guess is threads getting deleted ect, when I signed back in, I'd lost about 10 or so posts. So for the 2nd time now, I've past the 9K mark with this s/n. Weird! :venom:

Hey, if those pictures were from Spider-man Family 2, what was in Spider-man Family 1? Did anyone get it?

For the most part I liked Millar's MK run.

Spider-man Family 1 has an untold story of Spidey, still in the Symbiote suit. It deals with the first time Black Spidey VS Sandman

So it was pretty much made up to hype the movie? Figures...anyway, thanks.

Uhhh.. I really liked Millar's MK:SM run. The last arc was disappointing and the bridge-fight was anticlimatic, but besides that I thought it was great. The story had a palpable feeling of tension throughout, there were cliffhangers that actually made you want to pick up the next book (instead of just cheap inconsequential shockers like in "The Other") and ironically enough Millar incorporated continuity better than any recent writer has (Fortunato, Eddie's illness, Baby May and Ben Reilly references, etc). I think the run gets a bad rap just because it's Millar and people love to hate him. But give me that over "The Other" or "Sins Past" any day of the week. I don't think Brock was disrespected either... ofcourse I think Brock is the best Venom, but his arc was just a natural progression of storylines created by previous writers establishing that Brock had cancer.

I loved the Millar arc, I was so excited to read Spidey again, but I felt the end was rushed and a let down, I didn't even bother to continue it. :(

The battle between Spidey and Gargan is great. But um...up there on the bridge is well, lame

Its confusing when you consider Spider-Man Family 1 and Spider-Man Family and his Amazing Friends 1. That one ZERO mentioned was Spider-Man Back in Black 1. Why did only SMF get a ongoing bi-monthly while the others were one-shots? I dunno.

Hmmm

It's good to see Brock back in the Spidey-verse. Maybe Marvel can put an end to the Gargan/Venom crap that has lasted long enough.

Awww how sweet Brock is giving aunt May a scalp massage! He's such a nice young man :D

When does that flashback pictured above take place? I disremember.

its in continuity in the past of a story never told before. see? if follows the spidey time line like it should, remaining true to certain events... (they wont have a story about venom while gwen and capn stacey are alive), but its completely new.

.

I have a feeling that Venom will do the opposite. I doubt Eddie's self exploration and revelation will be cast aside for him to go back to being the old Eddie. It just seems too permanent. I think he'll be looking to make amends with Spidey and how better to do so than to save Peter Parker's mother figure? I don't know if this will be a wise move or a bomb but that cover pic seems like a red herring.

Cover for Sensational Spider-Man 39

Hmm... I don't know what to think about this. There's no doubt that it's a sweet looking cover. But I think it's more symbolic than representative of what will actually happen in this story. Meaning I don't think Eddie gets the Symbiote back. That's not what I interpreted from the solicitation we've got so far. But I can still hope!

Besides, i'm actually more excited about that Spider-man Family #2 story at the moment. That definitely features Brock as Venom!
