Comics The Return Of Eddie Brock

I have a feeling that Venom will do the opposite. I doubt Eddie's self exploration and revelation will be cast aside for him to go back to being the old Eddie. It just seems too permanent. I think he'll be looking to make amends with Spidey and how better to do so than to save Peter Parker's mother figure? I don't know if this will be a wise move or a bomb but that cover pic seems like a red herring.

Hmm, well I doubt Venom'll give May the slobby kiss of life.

i thought joe q said that eddie would be back in his suit agian in the 616 in time for the movie?

If done extremely well I think that could be an interesting angle. With the writer who's on board I have faith that whatever direction he'll be taken in it'll be good. :hyper:

maybe the doctors with find out by going thru may's blood that she is a clone. AND the original did indeed die in issue 400 but a clone brought back to petes life by norman osborne in order to screw with his head even more :) well i doubt it but i hope she dies sooner than later

Ewwwww. Now I have the image of Venom french kissing Aunt May burned in my brain. :woot:

I just have a feeling that Venom will do something like have the symbiote bring May out of her coma or save her from an attack of another villian.

I'm looking forward to this for 2 reasons.1.Eddie/Venom is a huge favorite of mine.2.Sensational under sacasa is my favorite Spider-man titte by a long shot. However as big as a Venom fan as I am I'll be the first to admit that Besides his creator David Michelinie and Paul Jenkins The Hunger all other Venom stories were lackluster. In 90's he was overexposed just like other "badass" Charaters Ghost Rider and The Punisher{which were ruined in the 90's too but now are in heathly states thanks to Garth Ennis Max Punisher and Daniel Way's Ghost Rider series} Venom's Mini series in the 90's had no real depth there were just excuse for Venom vs Juggernaut! or Venom Vs. Wolverine and most of the time it was horrid writers and artists. Now as far as the symboite going back to Eddie I always thought the best way to do that was this. The Symboite Eddie auctione doff wasn't the original but the clone from the now forgotten{and rightfully so} Venom series by Daniel Way a few years back. Those who read it we know that Eddie/Venom asborbed the clone at the end of #18{The series final issue.}That way both Eddie and Gargan can both have symboitres and we can even have a nice Eddie vs Gargan fight.as well as the thunderbolts hunting Eddie down.About Eddie killing May,I'm not so sure about that..

ok i can understand Venom vs. Juggs being ridiculous... but do u actually think wolverine should be able to beat Venom?

It would be tough, but Wolverine would demolish Venom. Not Hugh Jackman's version, though. :o

Thing is, from Millar's ‘Venomous’ arc onwards it did not really make sense as to how Brock was able to just give up the creature when at the end of The Hunger it turned out they had now become permanent merged in order to kill the cancer. How was that permanent then? Never mind...

Also nothing since has been noted of the clone that Venom absorbed or if it could indeed separate from Venom. That would be a cool way to set up a Venom Vs Venom fight. If the original symbiote goes back to Brock and the assumed absorbed symbiote clone, stays w/ Gargan.

.

There have been quite a few inconsistent mentions of "permanent" bonding of Eddie and the symbiote. Remember Planet of the Symbiotes? There was a line about Eddie's rejoining the symbiote being ( something like) "more than a bonding" but a "permanent merge" yet he lost the symbiote several times after that.

Yea this makes up a big part of the bad writing the character has suffered over the years.
-That many of the arcs made no sense in relation to each other.

I like the idea for the Venom vs Venom fight,- if the symbiote separates from the clone.

It's really killing me that we can only have this story after 2/3 months. The suspense is killing me!!!

God, I would love to see Peter stab Venom (Gargan or Brock, it doesn't matter) Just to show me he can beat one of them. I mean, the spidey sense isn't gonna work (Which I hate) unless it was amped to the point when it would work against Vemon.

No I don't think so.In fact I'm huge Wolverine fan,But I believe that sometimes his abilities are a bit exaggerated. But in the 90's there was a Mini where they fought and then teamed up.I wasn't stating that the fights were ridiculous but merely the premises of the minis. As far as Venomous storyline killing the notion of the permanent symbosis between Eddie and the symboite, That's as Dangerous mention the inconsistency in Venom stories. For example at the same time of the Venomous arc,There was the Venom Vs. Carnage Mini in which it seemed that the symboite had eated the last of Eddie's mind and that his body was merely an empty host.In that same story
Black cat acted like see had never seen netheir Venom nor Carnage even though see encountered both before Venom in his first apperance I believe.Who's fault is this?First lazy writer's who I guess refuse to research the charater's they're writing and 2.Editors who put no restrictions on their writers and let them basically disregard continunity and totally reinvent the charater to their liking just because their "Superstar" writers. However I have faith In Sacasa seeing that he has an incredible understanding of Spidey's history thus far.Matbe he can fix Venom's Continunity once and for all.

:whatever: maybe just maybe there would be a chance if wolverine was fast enough to hit Venom, and Venom didnt have 30 times his strength and what not

I love Wolverine but, fanboysim aside even the symbiote in the mini series said soemthing along the lines of "all you can do is cut" On a one on one fight I don't see how wolverine could beat venom, since he's faster, stronger and the symbiote is pretty good at dealing with fatal injuries. So if it was just afight where logan has some things available, then that'd be different, but still difficult for him.

You know, having just caught up with Venom and followed the "Venomous" and "Last Stand" story arcs, I really dig what's been done with Venom recently.

Brock's motivations prettymuch suck, but I like what Millar did with him. Making him feel more regretful than the scope of the Lethal Protector crap. I don't like the anti-hero Venom, but I liked the story because it dealt with that stuff in passing, and showed that Eddie is a better person, deep down. It was a logical conclusion.

I also liked the fact that Venom went back to being a badass. Even if it was that mafia don's kid and Gargan, it was great to see Venom be a villain again without spouting off preachy crap or saving babies.

It sucks because I don't see any way Brock could be restored to his former glory. Continuity really doesn't permit it. But I still want him back.

I dunno, only a retcon/restart could bring Venom back. He'd have to be done right from the ground up. I'm interested to see where the new story goes, but it's hard to come back from Brock hating the Symbiote and selling it to wanting it back. Seems way too farfetched.
