The Dark Knight The Riddler/Nygma Thread

Should the Riddler leave riddles because he has to (OCD) or because he wants to?

  • Because he has to (OCD)

  • Because he wants to(complete free will)

  • A little of both

  • Undecided

Who's talking about emails and blogs? I'm talking about this thread title, that implies that Riddler is in the next movie.
and i'm talking about how we got to the point where Riddler's name is appearing in thread titles. if it ends up being true, it's a lucky guess. hell, i could start a thread about Bruce Wayne being a crossdresser and ask what kind of ladies garments he should wear in the movie. Does that imply that Wanye is going to be a crossdresser in the movie and that there is confirmation of it somewhere out in the world?

So if it ends up being true, how is it any different than if we knew it was true?
because there is an inherent difference between knowing something to be true and not knowing something to be true. it's the difference between, "i know," and "i don't know."

i would love to see a scene where you just see edward working on a crossword puzzle

David Hyde Pierce is someone I never considered but would be great. The top of my list is still Edward Norton and Jude Law, though I can see Anthony Michael Hall doing it.

The Riddler and the Joker are my favorite Batman villains, and when I say those two together I mean the incarnations where one isn't a cheap knock-off of the other. I like the cool, calculating Riddler like the one in the animated series. He's one hell of an interesting villain and he can really have some depth to him besides his silly gimmick if given the chance.

Also, I really find most villains would fit perfectly into Nolan's world. With Scarecrow's fear gas and hallucinations and the mask sans the straw outfit, Ra's Al Ghul's hints of immortality, the Joker's whole spiel as well as Two-Face around the corner, I don't see why others wouldn't fit perfectly into the world Nolan's created. Catwoman is a cinch. The Penguin could be a physically deformed guy they call that because he sort of (and I mean sort of) looks like one-there are guys I know given nicknames because they resemble things like that. The Riddler doesn't have to wear the spandex with the question marks all over it. As a matter of fact, the animated series outfit seems like something Nolan could live with, and so could I. It's not so outlandish that it breaks the tone but it's also VERY Riddler. A question mark tie is good enough for me.

Wow, :yay: I think those two would be great for the Riddler. Norton can kind of affect the condoscending-I'm-much-too-smart for you look and Law has the frail, brains over brawn look and suave that I think would be perfect for E. Nigma.

I'd say it's more of the difference between "I know" and "I think I know".

From the perspective of the person who saw this thread title, but didn't read the thread, all they'll know is that they found out Riddler was in the movie, and he turned out to be in the movie. That's all that matters. It's been spoiled for them. They knew what was coming before it happened, or at least, they thought they knew.

I still think Will Arnett would be a great Riddler. He's got a quirky sense of humour and I think he could pull off an eccentric, obsessive-compulsive, yet darker Riddler wihout a problem.

I love Arnett I don't think he could do a dark riddler though. If they were aiming for a goofy eccentric riddler then yes. He could do it. "ITS AN ILLUSION BATMAN! A TRICK IS SOMETHING A ****E DOES FOR MONEY" ya He is always Gob

Exactly. I don't think he will fully become the Riddler in this film, but may leave a Riddler of some sort at the end. AMH will more than likely be Nygma and not yet the Riddler.

I don't know about that. I'd be willing to bet if he pulled back a bit on the humour, he'd be able to bring out a more serious, brooding side that would work rather well.

of course he would pull out a serious side but he would have to do some serious roles first so people can take him seriously. Its like Zach Braff deciding he is going to play Hannibal Lectar, he could do an amazing job just everybody sees him as JD from scrubs

I think we will have Edward Nygma already in the film. Perhaps the ending like in Begins will be but done in a different way. Perhaps Bruce goes to his office one day and theres a package with a question mark on it

Isn't the title a little spoiler-plottwist-ish?

I really hope riddlers not in any of nolans batman movies
