The Dark Knight The Riddler/Nygma Thread

Should the Riddler leave riddles because he has to (OCD) or because he wants to?

  • Because he has to (OCD)

  • Because he wants to(complete free will)

  • A little of both

  • Undecided

There's nothing to suggest that AMH isn't the Riddler, as well. Nolan has been known to play around with certain characters, so he could very well make AMH both Edward Nashton AND the Batman wannabe Batman talks to on the roof. It's all possible. And I don't think they're all coming from the same place. FilmIck will post anything they get without checking to make sure it's not some fanboy pulling their leg. I guarantee that's the case with FilmIck's "report" of Riddler.

yes, i know you're a jett lover and i know you had a schizophrenic meltdown thread about it.
I'm a BOF supporter, but I never made a thread about BOF, unless you're refering to the infamous BOF bashing thread my brother started (which is resolved and ancient history, FYI).

no, in fact it was an odd quote...something about "has-ing" a cheezburgr

He said he's playing a good guy. Who said Nolan wont make Nashton a good guy from the beginning and have him become Riddler in the 3rd?
mighty lot of speculating, huh? it's this speculation that was passed on as "rumor has it..." and eventually made its way to Jett.

again, the only evidence out there are AMH's quotes.

as far as the purple car...that photoshop (like the AMH/Riddler rumor, and like the Heath Ledger screentest shot) originated on SHH. it was never a rumor.

I don't think anyone is saying that there is cold, hard evidence that Anthony Micheal Hall is playing The Riddler. However, the musings from Jett seem to suggest that he may be playing that character. It's not completley substantiated by anything, but it wasn't pulled out of thin air either.

If what we are hearing is true and farmer Ted is playing the Riddler. How do you think this is going to work in the plot. Does anyone see him as an associate with the Joker, Two-Face, or Scarecrow? Or is he on his own and just merly introduced ala Dr. Conners. How much screen time do you think he will have? Post some ideas and thoughts.

who the hell is farmer Ted?

and i believe it was pulled out of thin air. it's path and life has been traced and charted here on a number of occasions.

farmer fred (ted, actually. i'm not a real farmer.)

geek, can i be totally honest?

not if you're going to insult me.

get the * out of here!

whoa! nice manners! nice manners, babe!

she's totally serious *wipe!

I must have missed those occasions. What exactly makes you think there is absolutely no merit to the Riddler/Anthony Micheal Hall connection? Also, do you think Jett found reports based on people who pulled them out of thin air valid enough to post on his site?

because the party largely responsible and largely cited as a corroborating source is filmick. the kid who runs filmick posted on SHH that he just puts up things people email him. he doesn't care if the info is true or not - and he scouts SHH threads for material. both of these things he publically admitted here, but the most damning bit was a thread he had started here that was deleted by the mods. i think Jett received a number of emails from people believing filmick is a credible site, or that saw the same information on other sites that credited (or perhaps didn't credit) filmick. there was a false sense of legitimacy and confirmation.

Oh, I see. I didn't know all of that. Thanks for the information, Mysterio. However, we can't be entirely sure that Jett's sources were steered wrong by Filmick. I guess only time will tell at this point.

Is AMH 100% confirmed to be the Riddler/ Edward Nygma? If he is, I hope he is only Edward Nygma because I don't want the third Nolan film to bring back memories of Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey, as...as.....BATMAN VILLAINS *gasp*

I hope too that he's just Nygma in this film, but it won't make me remember Batman Forever. Nolan actually develops his characters.

3. My favourite possibility, Nigma takes the place of Vernon Fox as Dent's brilliant but corrupt assistant. While he appears to be helping Dent solve cases he's actually a clever little imposter who sets up false trails and convictions to thwart true justice. On Maroni's payroll. When Batman finds out he tells Dent who forces Nigma to testify against Maroni or face the courts himself, a dodgy, under-the-table deal from Dent. But Nigma knows he'll be killed if he testifies, so he goes to Maroni and they arrange to put Dent out of action. In the end Dent realises that criminals are more frightened by other criminals than they are of justice and law. Enter Two-Face.
That's absolutely beautiful, outside of the fact that the Riddler's psychosis seems entirely left out of the equation. If it can somehow be incorporated, that is just well, golden.

I doubt this will play through as who Nygma is in the movie. If you've read AHM short interview about TDK, he has scene's with Bale & Morgan Freeman.

Jett knows full well that Filmick reaks of ********.

I still think Will Arnett would be a great Riddler. He's got a quirky sense of humour and I think he could pull off an eccentric, obsessive-compulsive, yet darker Riddler wihout a problem.

I love Arrested Development, but no. Will Arnett might look the part, but he can't act dramatically to save his life.

agreed. This is Gotham too. The guy is a bit goofy for me.
