Burton is very strong visually, but his pacing and storytelling techniques kind of blow . . . I love Burton, don't get me wrong . . . he's one of my favorite directors visually, but most of his films are like getting from one amazing visual scene to the next; the in-betweens are usually just that . . . .

That's your opinion, not fact. So get off the high horse that internet anonymity puts you on and start acting like a respectable human being, OK?

Sure it is HIS opinion, but it's also the opinion of the majority of fan boys, common movie goers and critics.... so I don't know if I would call it his "high horse" when so many agree...

Plus I don't think the comment was supposed to be taken so seriously... this all sprung about because of Google... a known troll on these boards and since you are relatively new you may not know that.

Maybe so, but how does that mean more thought? It's just thought in different places.

Though yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion, BB by critics and fans on a lot of sites have been rated above Burton's versions. Though Burton may put his thoughts in to different areas of film, characters are always the most important in any film, and that most good film makers will agree. Characters are your gate way into their world.

But for Burton discussion this is not the place.

What you basically just said there was, "everyone has the right to an opinion, but you are undeniably wrong lol"

But for Burton discussion this is not the place.
Alright. But I still maintain the opinion that both Burton and Nolan made good and relevant Batman films.

Everyone can have their opinion, and I respect that. But not everyone's opinion is right. Look at Hitler. lol

yeah, but it wasnt for sonar, i'm pretty sure it was just so he wasnt blinded or something. whatever it was for, they didnt explain it like everything else in that movie.

regardless, i think its awesome. it'll be a nice bizarre visual device that will counter just how technological Batman looks and play up the "inhuman" quality more
Perhaps, with the sonar devices in his eyes, the Batman will return even more to his comic book roots:

Maybe, but when we are talking about Batman movies I don't think any opinion can be incorrect on a level with Hitler's opinion that every jew should be murdered.

I am not wrong for believing Burton's Batman movies are on equal footing with Nolan's Batman Begins, period.

you need to remove that chip from your shoulder; it's grown to the size of a giant redwood.

As long as its just a scene or two i don't mind if he has sonar eyes. But come the ***** on guys, this a film with some of the best actors of our time, I want them to have the opportunity to act, not to hide behind an expressionless mask.

I don't understand why people have this obsessive need for everything to look like the comics. If they could have made the suit black, they would have, they made it blue and grey to show depth and contrast. The white eyes were easier and more intimidating. I want to see Bale's eyes because he can MAKE himself intimidating.

V for Vendetta. tell me that wasn't acting. i guarantee you that was a more difficult job than not being behind a mask.

I don't buy into this whole sonar lens thing...meh. I'm still believing that the footage we're going to see in IMAX will not be in the film...but we'll just have to wait and see.

The marriage of footage filmed with IMAX and 35mm cameras in the final feature will have a major impact on the audience's viewing experience, whether seeing "The Dark Knight" in an IMAX or traditional theatre.

In making the announcement, Jeff Robinov stated, "Warner Bros. has always been committed to advancing the art of filmmaking. The use of IMAX cameras to film select scenes in an action feature is a great step forward in big-screen entertainment, especially in the talented hands of Christopher Nolan. We can't wait to see the results, and we think audiences will share our excitement when the movie opens on July 18, 2008."

Reminds me of a brief image of BB right before he leaves the train and Ra's to a certain death !!! Yu could swear he has lenses !

God, I hope the lenses part isn't true. Especially if it's for "bat sonar." That is exactly what they did in Forever with the "Sonar Suit." Even though it doesn't make any sense and isn't properly explained, the lenses were part of his Bat sonar.

are you saying the IMAX scenes aren't supposed to be in the movie??? the IMAX footage was always meant to be included in the film.

Yeah, I mean, it really goes against all common sense to assume that they filmed something in a very expensive format just to hype the movie on a limited number of screens.

For another movie. So they'd basically have spent allll that money on another movie.

I don't mind the lenses - it's likely they won't be something that's on throughout the movie, even if true.

yeah ! But there's also a costume change for Bats in TDK and I'm sure it'll be explained !:woot: :cwink:

If the lenses are explained too why not !

I know this is cool & all but is anyone else against them putting out the first five minutes of the movie??? Part me wants to see it but I'd really think they should of just waited unless it's not really going to be apart of the movie? It would be cool if it was seperate thing but I don't know. As for the lenses thing I think it's kind of out of place too, I hope it's just a rumor to be honest.

OMFG. . . It's not Joker Beings? YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OKAY-

so idk if this has been asked BUT,
it said preview of the first 5 mins not PREQUEL

so is the IMAX really a sneak peek of the begining...orr...

did i totally misread it?
