Yep. It can only help. Maybe $160m+ is on the cards. Thanks to high RT score, the number crunchers are saying the number for the OW is gonna be much higher than expected.

The usual mix of CBM haters + DC fanboys, but this time with the addition of man babies whining about Brie. Great to see all of them have egg on their faces now, with more to come once they see the OW number.I am really not understanding why there was all premature hate for this film. Reviews seem to be in line with what I thought the film would be, and it looks like another success for Marvel. We'll see how the box office performs, but it's pretty clear the Marvel formula works and keeps people coming back to this franchise.

Great reviews! Hype is real.
What i love the most about Captain Marvel threads (everywhere) is how easy it is to identify who to put on my block list![]()
Which shouldn't be an issue. The whole concept in our culture right now that everything has to either be "The best movie ever!!!!" or "The worst movie ever!!!!" It's fine to "just" be a good movie.Reviews are fresh but not teh best movie evah. There's a lot of 3/5, 2.5/5, 6/10s
This is so true, I remember in the Aquaman RT thread, their fans were so happy that it got a fresh rating of 65% with a 6.0 average. And here we are 1% below 90% and are complaining. First world problems lol.We really are spoiled... We consider our MCU movies "mixed" if they drop below 90%! This has a way better start than Infinity War, so I am thrilled!
There is no definition of a mixed reaction which includes a figure anywhere near 90%.We really are spoiled... We consider our MCU movies "mixed" if they drop below 90%! This has a way better start than Infinity War, so I am thrilled!
Yeah. The same happened recently with GotG 2 and IW... people were freaking out because the movies weren't getting unanimously praised, but honestly how many comic book movies do?I think it's going to be the same for any marvel movie. We've been spoiled to the point that anything less than "it's the best movie ever", is going to be met with disappointment.
Sorry fellas Game of Thrones trailer is out, be back later!

Again, the issue here is that Marvel Studios tried to sell the movie as an event film.
Why do you worry about what some people are freaking out about now?Yeah. The same happened recently with GotG 2 and IW... people were freaking out because the movies weren't getting unanimously praised, but honestly how many comic book movies do?

$175m would put it in the top 10 all time. $150m would put it in the top 20. $120m would put it at 37th. Typical non-event film numbers and rankings. That's not an issue because it is an event film. 150-175m OWs don't happen for non-event films
Same here. I haven't seen an average rating all day on the site. That's never happened for me before.Grrr...still shows me 89%. The site is awful today
What a flop, SHELVE IT TO NETFLIX OR HULU!$175m would put it in the top 10 all time. $150m would put it in the top 20. $120m would put it at 37th. Typical non-event film numbers and rankings.![]()
