Well, from a voter in America....thanks.

Either you are not from America, or you don't vote?

I think that there is a good chance, if caucuses were not in place, John Edwards would have been the nominee as he would've taken Iowa, Hill-dog would still take NH, Edwards would have taken South Carolina as Obama would not have had momentum from a Iowa victory, and Obama would've been forced to drop out at this point. Edwards would've picked up a good majority of his supporters and gone on to defeat Hillary. Of course, then his sex scandal would've broken prior to the Democratic National Convention, resulting in either the party being forced to switch nominees at the list minute or Edwards running for the presidency having cheated on his cancer patient wife and with an illigitiment child on the side. Either way, we'd be looking at 4 years of President McCain. :wow:

Nope, because before all was said and done........the Clinton hound dogs would have sniffed out all they could, and it would have been on the front page of every newspaper in the country, and they would have made sure it was out there before Super Tuesday. No way he would have had the nomination.

...And yet at the end of the day Obama got it by best running in the system in place.

You guys still smart at that one? :hehe:

But yeah, I wouldn't be opposed to doing away with caucuses. With that said, I look forward to Iowans grilling Palin with some tough questions in the town hall meetings if she does indeed run next year.

No need to be snarky. Speculation on alternative history is a fun way to kill time.

Well, yeah, he learned how to use a corrupt system in Chicago, the biggest political machine in the US, so he should have been the best at it.....:o

To be fair, I'm sure that the system is corrupt everywhere, not just Chicago. We just admit it.

I believe, only New York has the history of corruption like Chicago. And yes, to all kinds of degrees we can say that.....but not at the extent that those 2 cities go to.

It's like saying while Michael Moore is fat, we all have a little body fat in us all. :woot:

I jest, I jest. It's fun to imagine what the US would have been like if Gore was elected president (in a sad way). Or McCain. Or George the First had been given a second term. Or if Nixon had not been dumb enough to get involved in Watergate--how would we perceive him? The government? The Republican Party itself, which Reagan remade in his own image after Watergate. What the US would have been like had the South won the Civil War (or whether it would still exist?).

But sometimes, I just cannot help myself.

I particularly love the Nixon one, as I maintain Nixon was probably the best president we've had since Truman. Furthermore, had Nixon not been caught, he'd probably be remembered as one of the upper-tier presidents, his moderate conservative coalition would have maintained control over the Republican Party, Regan's Christian Conservatives would've remained a small minority, and the modern Republican party would probably be just as (if not more so) socially progressive than Democrats.

Yes, I have a counselor. He's a little white rabbit with blue ears and a Harvard education in psychology.

^From the one episode I saw, her younger daughter left a bad taste in my mouth. Snarky little minx. Also, she assumed the girl's teenage BF wouldn't go upstairs when she wasn't looking.
