i don't like the sentinel designs. at first i thought someone did a manip of a black suit spiderman on an empire cover. turns out it was the real empire cover. i almost let the 70's one slide, saying "hey it's the first iteration". then i see future sentinel and now i am not liking what i am seeing. the frame looks too small. mostly the arms are so thin. these sentinels look easy to defeat. they seem small too.

Small? Have you see the size of the car it is standing next to, lol...

I don't care for the future sentinels either, a little too thin and spindly like misjuevos there said
I do like that they have just a touch of nimrod to them though

the future one looks like something from neon genesis evangelion

i like these all black/angels of death look!!!! It reminds of Wolverine and the X-Men Sentinels from the future, powerful and hard to defeat

The future Sentinels take after Mystique in the script. That's why they are slender and can shape shift.

It looks the complete opposite of easy to defeat to me. Looks like it can't actually be physically harmed, like the T-1000 from Terminator.

There's something about it that looks organic.:wow:

I'm really digging this design.

While it does have shades of previous robot designs (a couple users respectively brought up Gort and Evangelion, and I sort of get the Nimrod and Phalanx comparisons), it definitely has its own unique design aesthetics and sensibilities. Being that the original Sentinels in the new film started out as very high-tech machine originally designed to police the mutant race, the future design is a very logical step in its evolution: a mechanical/organic hybrid that has developed the ability to counter other mutants abilities and either capture or kill them. It's definitely Sentinel-like, while also being something else.

If I ever saw this in real life, I would probably be booking it out of there. :woot:

I'm mixed about the Sentinels. Design wise, they look bad IMO but I need to see them in battle and see what they can do in battle you know? Maybe it's not that bad as it looks.

THey remind me of ReDeads from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

I love them. Can't wait.

Hope there is a Master Mold.

Anyone else think they kind of based the new Sentinel design off of mastermold here:

i didnt want to like the future sentinel. but he looks good. end of story. it looks unique and original.

They definitely look unique and different to what I was expecting, but I like the design.

I'm torn on both designs…and this is why I wasn't excited about Bryan Singer coming back. His choice of designs are just "okay" but never "OMG, F*** YES!!"

I don't know the story or details of what's going on, I just know what I like when I see it. Both sentinel designs have hints of things that look good but the overall design looks 'meh'. The faceplate and torso of the past sentinel look great, but the rest of the design looks boring…and I couldn't care less for the actual face. I like the concept of an almost organic looking future sentinel but the execution, again, looks boring as there's very little variety to the body. The face looks pretty cool but could've used more characteristics and ultimately looks kinda plain.

I'm not complaining, just expressing my opinion. The designs don't look nearly as bad as the x3 head from the danger room, but I WILL say that with all the talented concept artists in the world that it's kinda disappointing to see that Singer chose designs that are ultimately mediocre. Here is a pinterest page of dozens of concepts that feel more like sentinels to me...

So we pretty much have it confirmed they're merged with Mystique's DNA? Those are going to be brutal in the future.

Empire Magazine explains the Future Sentinels look

"They’re biomechanical weapons. We had to come up with what would be the ultimate version that could actually, in principle, stop the X-Men. We started with this idea that they were almost made up of magnetic plates slapped over one another, imagining that the plates could contract or grow, so the Sentinel can be skinny to get through a small space or the plates can open up to become a bigger shape. So they have become virtually unstoppable"

Sounds really cool. I'm diggin the design, to be honest, and the idea behind it is pretty cool too. Hope this movie is the ****.

It does look like mystique's scales when she shape shifts

I like that people have pointed out that the future Sentinels look, designwise, like Cerebro.

I've enjoyed the 70s Sentinel since SDCC. The head is pure comic Sentinel, It has the eyes, the colour and the grill for the mouth, it's just less boxy and more modernized.

It doesn't look that threatening I agree, but it says sentinel to me
