Days of Future Past The Sentinels

The pic of the sentinel Bryan Singer released looks cool but he doesn't seem all that threatening to a mutant like Magneto, Wolverine, etc. They have a huge fan or whatever that is right smack in the middle of there chest that screams weak point. Maybe the future versions of the Sentinels will look more threatening.

IMO that seems to be missing the point of the Sentinels in general. Their threatening visage is supposed to contradict their benign purpose, like the ED-209 or Cain.

Maybe they're taking another approach, perhaps to differentiate from Transformers, Pacific Rim, Real Steel, and every other film featuring hulking masses of battered grey metal clanking about.

Perhaps, unlike your assertion, they have a benign visage to mask their threatening purpose.

The viral footage was all about making humanity feel safe. Giving the robots a more 'friendly' design would be in keeping with that.

I'm all for something different, with some fresh thought behind it.

Maybe those original Sentinels are built for a different purpose, like security for instance. Then they get converted into mutant-hunters later.

I also think there could be nice, clean promotional Sentinels for the public to see - And then the regular ones are rougher-looking because they're built for a purpose and that isn't to look pretty.

Leaps and bounds ahead of other such projects, but there are some definite period influences in their design.

The Sentinels here look a lot like what Singer wanted for X2.

I vaguely remember they were able to compact into discs? That would be neat.

Timing of Sentinels are just fine.

I wanted them in X-Men: The Last Stand also, but this way, they get to be utilized in an even better fashion.

I don't think its too late for the Sentinels to show up. With the first two X-Men movies, they were focusing on fighting against Magneto/Stryker. With the third film, they were going with the Phoenix and they mixed up with the cure plotline. Then for the 4th/5th/6th, there was no X-Men.

I think it's pretty much the perfect time for the Sentinels to be truly introduced, especially since the storyline more or less revolves around them as a threat.

I think it may be kinda cool for the sentinels to look like they do in the 1970's timeline and have it where magneto does sorta rip them apart and that way have it shown how they are manufactured to take him into account, that way we see progression in the sentinels but also in how magneto thinks (he cant just crush everything like a tin can). that way in the future we see the sentinels completely unstoppable and it amps up the threat level. seeing as we all know the x-men live in the past the biggest threat has to be in the future and something like that would help I think.

Another thing, I actually like their design. I think the vent on the chest is either to help them fly, or a spot light. And they are purple which is what I wanted mainly
