It's so overrated that it's not even funny! It shouldn't be called greatest movie ever cause there is no such thing. Sure i use to like it but now that it's almost on every friggin' TV station and can't take it anymore, i prefer "The Green Mile" and i also believe "The Godfather" is a better movie then this.

As to the movie, I love the movie.
It's one of my favorite movies, and it's a very fine movie at that.

I love this movie. I saw it at a sneak preview screening about a month before it opened, loved it and raved about it for weeks (I'd also read the original novella). Then it officially opened and sort of tanked initally at the box office. Thankfully it was re-released at Oscar time and started to get the recognition it deserved. Still one of my favorites.

Even though I may never have one movie be my undisputed best/favorite movie, it is nothing but an opinion to be the "best movie ever." It's like saying we can't call our favorite friend the "best" friend.

The narration by Morgan Freman in this movie was excellent. He has a wonderful voice. This is my all time favorite movie and I recommend everyone to see it. Truly beautiful. Great performances. Horrible that they didn't win any award. Really...that's a ripoff.

One of the best films in history. Great acting, great story, great direction, just perfect all around in my eyes. I have to say though Brook's scene was the most moving and saddest scenes in the film. I felt so sorry for him because it showed just how broken he was and how he was more comfortable in prison than in life.

You often wish he would've done something so he could've gone back to Shawshank and be happy. But it just shows how broken down a man can get after being in a defeated state for so long.
