The Shield

Well considering the new episodes don't begin until January 2006, I suggest start looking for the re-runs sometime this fall. "Rescue Me" begins next week so if you what that show they might announce when The Shield might be coming back for the re-runs. I always tape my shows since they come out so late here in Texas.
I meant the season finale

Was I the only one who saw the Fantastic Four just to see Vic Mackey on the big screen?

I guess I'd prefer to see Julian Lowe leave, since they've practically given up on his character anyway, he's due for a transfer in continuity, and even though they've all but let this plotline die, I hate his deluded hypocrisy with regard to his sexuality. He's an a$$hole for marrying that woman, and a coward for denying who he is just because his church denounces homosexuality. I certainly don't expect him to "come out" in front of a police precinct full of bigoted a$$holes, but they least he could do is be himself while off the clock and refrain from biting off more than he can chew, as he did with his marriage.

To be honest, I really thought that Julien's initial story arc - being gay, struggling with it, and eventually getting married - was very interesting.

Whether or not you believe the "sexual reorientation" he went through was bogus or not, you can't tell me it's not a new spin on the "closeted gay" story. A devout Christian, knowing there are things in the Bible against homosexuality, finding himself attracted to men? I thought it was a really interesting twist personally, and I thought Julien's struggles were portrayed realistically.

It just upsets me that Julien and Danny seem to have gotten the backseat to Rawlings and Antwon this season. Not that I didn't love those characters, but I wish we could've gotten more of our favorite unies...

Yeah, but in the past, before a new season of "The Shield" starts, they'll do a marathon of the previous seasons. Usually two episodes a night, they'll probably start reairing sometime next year before the new season begins.

Glen Close and CCH Pounder are nominated for Emmy's, I was hoping Anderson would get a nod too, I thought he did a fantastic job. I'm also a little surprise this season didn't get a nomination, the season finale wasn't the best, but overall the season was pretty damn good.

This season was good but not as good as the other seasons IMO

Saw the promo for the new season and just had to bump this thread. "The beginning of the end." I wonder how many seasons they have left..I'm betting two.

Yeah I saw it last night. The way Johnny Cash sings that song goes great with the show. I cant wait for the new season.

Hmm...well, Season 5 could very well be the last season, but I've seen interviews where they talk about going as far as 6.

Either way, I don't think we'll get a 7th season.

It's probably just talking about the fact that **** is going to start hitting the fan this season...doesn't necessarily mean the end of the series - though it is possible.

We do know that IAD has dirt on 'em now, so...

When does the new season of the Shield start in the US? Looking forward to it!!

Sometime in Januaray. They haven't announced a date yet.

Last season wasnt as good as the others

The more I think about the last season, the more I really like the ending. The entire Farmington force getting together and celebrating, because they overcame some terrible things. Then you see the IA guy walk in at the last moment and look at the Strike Team. I think its perfectly done foreshadowing and makes whats to come even sadder after how happy everyone was at the end of this season.

Ok, so i've been cruising the imdb boards, and found out some new stuff.

Apparently, Forest Whitaker is joining the cast this season, AND on top of that, season 5 will have a supposed 18-21 episodes. Crazy cool.

It just leads me to believe more and more that this is the end. :(

That is GREAT news!!!!

awesome news. Whitaker is an incredible actor

My fiance and I have engaged in a grand experiment with our new apartment, however: no cable. Which means when the new season starts, if I want to catch every episode, I'll have to be setting the VCR at my parents place

So do you guys think Whitaker will be a cop?

I heard he was going to be a cop from the Internal Affairs Division a long time ago.
