Homecoming The Side-Villains: the Shocker and Thinkerer thread!

It may not be perfect ( should have added the quilting affect ) , but it still looks better then Electro , Green Goblin and Rhino all combined from ASM2

This I agree with!

I thought Electro and Rhino looked fine. Both were obviously inspired by the Ultimate comics:

Either way, though, it was a lose-lose around here in regarding TASM series.

It wasn't a lose-lose situation, it was simply a bad movie. Not unfortunate though, since it lead to this deal.

I just thought they went so way over the top , with all three of them

I like how their kind of pulling back on the reins some

No one "has to explain" why the suit looks "crappy". It's already there as a part of his character. His suit SHOULDN'T look professional, because he doesn't want a professional suit. Shocker as a character would not bother to make something "look nice". I expected his costume to look homemade and tossed together, and that's what they did.

It has the function to protect himself from his own blasts though, so it needs to be more than something tossed together.

I think his look was fine, he just had terrible writing and directing.

Well, his look was fine as Electro. As Dillon. . . he looked like a refugee from an earlier era of superhero films.

I feel the opposite. To me Shocker aims to be a professional and this costume just looks laughably thrown together. There doesn't even seem to be any padding. So why even use part of the design?

Not necessarily, you have to remember Shocker built his first costume while he was in prison

In the comic. For all we know they could go another route like the Montana Shocker from the Spectacular cartoon and have it gifted to him (though BT the Tinkerer this time).

He'll likely look alot better in the HD Trailers after effects are added.

Have those images been confirmed fake, real, or is it still up in the air?

Eh, they've pretty much been confirmed as fake

I'm surprised people are still discussing it, though.

I do hope the actual Shocker costume looks more similar to that instead of Ultimate Shocker. Just, ugh.

I mentioned that ages ago. He's the thinking man's Tinkerer. :o

We'll probably end up getting it corrected to the Socker and Thinkerer though. :o

Going on to something more relevant, how should Shocker be characterized in this film?

Now I don't think Shocker is a particularly well developed character in the comics and I am assuming he will be a henchman rather then the Big Bad, there 3 ways you can play him:

1. Give him very little characterization and just make him a henchman who furthers the main villain's plans and provides some fight scenes.

2. Make him an utter scum bag, a cold heart psychopath who cares only about cash and has no real moral limits.

3. Make him an somewhat sympathetic villain, where he is greedy, but he has a moral code and lines he will not cross and will turn against his boss if he thinks his boss has crossed a line.
