The Spider-Man 3 First Look Thread [Merged]

Personally, I'd want Venom to live. He has the potential to skyrocket the franchise into the big leagues. I'm thinking LOTRs and Star Wars. He's a marketing tool which can be used for promotion of future films. Merchandise sales will go off the roof if Venom survives this one. Believe it or not, he is probably the most recognized Spider-Man villain of the 90s.
That's what I'm talking about. I may not be the biggest fan of Venom, although still like him. But there is no way in hell if I was the director/Sony/Marvel would I kill Eddie Brock. Unless, I woke up one day and absolutely hated MONEY. And yes, Carnage would also be a huge boost to the franchise, I don't care who claims they don't like him, you put Venom and Carnage in a Spidey film and that's HUGE MONEY. :o

I'm thinking sam is going to have venom die because he wants to use his all time favorite villians in the upcoming sequels. he's not going to want to end the franchise without them.

the battle royal at the construction site will probably satisfy us enough to say, "I am really happy of what sam did with venom". we don't even have very good confirmation of venom dieing so it's not worth worrying just yet and besides sam is doing this for us fans so if venom dies we should still be happy with what we got. carnage being in a spidey film wouldn't boost the franchise, carnage doesn't and probably will never have a good fanbase. if carnage and venom were in a spidey film and they batteled then it would be the stupid "Leathal Protector" which I think would lower the franchise especially for the fans because "Leathal Protector" really doesn't have a good fanbase either.

Though yes Sam does like the classics, there is not many more of the classic Villians that would be good in a movie. I think he has hit almost all of the classic ones cept for maybe a few.

Lizard......and.........................lol. Honestly I can't see any of the other villians making a good movie transformation.

But won't Venom fans be even happier knowing that he can be brought back into a SM5-SM7 movie? I wish I could talk them into how important having villains around is, but they just don't seem to like the idea. Something about this crazy thing called closure.

Some may call blasphemy on this one because Stan Lee made him, but I still have no clue why the Sandman is worthy of being in the films. It just boggles me that he survives because he's a classic character Sam has retrofitted to be modern but Brock dies.

I being a huge venom fan myself would love for that to happen. It's all up to sam though, it's his decision so if he doesn't want something to happen sadly it's not going to. the movies still and will always remain phenominal because of sam's thinking and ideas.

I don't think it should be up to Sam Raimi, it should be up to SONY/MARVEL, mostly MARVEL to decide whether or not Eddie Brock dies, but if they want to hand their POWER and MONEY over to Sam Raimi so be it. But the killing of Eddie Brock is the killing of A LOT OF MONEY.

I don't mind if Venom dies. My issue is a sordid portrayl of Brock being the only thing to savor over and the usage of Venom as a copout to make up for two pseudo-villains. I usually find myself in support of Raimi, but in this point I can't see why he's giving such a small window of opportunity and then just cutting it off.

Well apparently it is not entirley up to Sam. I mean it was Avi/Sony that told him to listen to the fans and put Venom in '3' in the first place. So I don't think he has the absolute power.

Can someone start making some avys, please. Pretty please. :p

I unsubscribed by accident. :cmad:
I should probably go to bed. :o

I second this. Anyone who can set me up with an avvy of Brock as he's singing right before talking to Betty Brant or right before he gets slammed against the wall would be duly appreciated.

Just watched the new footage......man I can't wait till this movie comes out

It's going to be a hilarious scene even if one's mind isn't in the gutter judging by the leaked trailer. Right after Brock says that, symbiote-spidey's going to "give him some web action" by webbing his camera and throwing it into a wall.:venom:

not really although it was sort of funny, but seriously I thought it was humerous.

what?

Oh, and as a side note, it's nice to see they are using some practical effects with Sandman's weapons like that mace in the photo above, and not just CGI. I'm sure it will be mixed with some dripping sand or whatever, but the "real" handmade mace attached to THC's arm can only make the weapon look more real on screen IMO.

filmmakers want it to look as real as possible, the more real it looks the better in my opinion so I agree with you with using the practical effects for sandmans hand. well I guess....the more real the better although cgi obviously has to be used in specific scenes.

isn't that what sean just said? yes, we know that filmmakers would want to make effects as real as possible, and yes, the more real, the better, in your opinion and everyone else's opinion.

One of the funniest things about Spidey TAS was the fact that his spider sense always seemed to go off when was it too late. :p

atleast he still dodged what was coming at him though:yay:.

yeah...um he didn't, which is what "sense goes off too late" means...

I don't think that will happen no matter how much we want it to. he already stated he doesn't like venom so there would be alot of convinving for sam to use venom again. though I think sam could use sandman again since he's going to live.

hmm, two posts saying basically the same thing, almost back to back. where have i seen that before?

who would've thought a director like raimi, after making 2 blockbusters, would have that kinda power? and i thought the sony lot janitor was responsible for how phenominal the movies have been, who would've thought the director had a part in that?

It's not that he's super excited, it's just that most of the content of his posts reflect that and nothing else worth bringing to the table. It's getting old, especially when the rest his other posts are just repeats of what other people have said.

exactly. everyone on these board are excited for SM3, even the damn trolls. who knows how many dreams I've had where it was May 4, and I was watching SM3. but i don't come into the forum and make senseless posts or repeat myself constantly. the above is from just today...AFTER he said he would try to "post better", whatever the hell that means.

sigh, i don't think the trolls from the SM1 days, parker and freddie, were this annoying. at least they brought something new to the table.

who the **** cares if venom dies or not? its a damn comic book movie. there are about 10 ways to annul each characters death.

:confused:I bumped up the avvy thread that should make it a little easier to make requests.

Since there's an avy thread what about some cool gifs, huh?
