holy ****! Hardy gets the clean pin over Michaels! I was expecting the run-in any second

What is that hold called? HBK has been using it almost every week. It's like, half sharpshooter, half figure-four. He should give it a name.

-TNC

I think they are calling it the inverted figure four. I'm pretty sure it has another name in Japan.

This match is what they should have on every RAW. They need to have a match that can generate excitement and tell a great story. The match between Jeff and Shawn is one of the reasons why I'm so hard on the WWE because they can do better than what they do.

This was living proof as to why I LOVE wrestling and why I'm so passionate about the product and wish they would stop the stupidity, stop the stupid angles, and just have great wrestling with a great story. Great match between Jeff and Shawn, although it won't translate to Jeff winning the EC though. :(

Personally I think Jeff should win MITB and go to ECW as he'll never get anywhere near the title with Cena, HHH, HBK, and Batista on the horizon.

That was the best singles none gimmick match of Jeff's career IMO. He pulled out the win and made it believable, plus him and HBK had a lot of good back and forths, Jeff really looked top rung like he was standing even with HBK. Anything but him moving on to WM at this point would be a complete waste. I know HHH has a 90% chance of winning and facing Cena, but Jeff's been on a hot streak and not keeping it going and giving him the belt for the first time at WM would just waste all that momentum. It'd def give the hard working guy winning in an emotional moment that WM's are known for.

Also...does it annoy anyone else that for the last 2 years fans started counting as HBK tunes up for SCM? Seriously, wtf is that? Ya...he stomped his foot you don't need to say 1, 2, etc, it's a much better build up when it's just electricity and fans cheering, this isn't a 10 punch on the turnbuckle.

SILENCE....I demand insipid storylines, midgets, crappy incest angles, and fat oily guys in thongs...(Katie Lea is kinda hot tho)

Don't feel too bad about Jeff not winning the EC belt. He's just got a clean win over the legendary Shawn Michaels.

ECW's a step down. I would love for him to win and go on to face Cena at Wrestlemania.

Really good main event tonight.

Except for incest angles, TNA has had all those things too.

:whatever:

With the push he's getting, it would be hard to see him in the MitB and not winning it.

I agree LS that THAT type of match is why I like wrestling and have since I was a kid. IMO all matches should be a clean win, except for that occasional chair shot from a dirty wrestler, or a run in in a special case. Run ins, chair shots (even by faces), they've become so common place that they've lost meaning and that a match won cleanly has utterly shocks you. Instead a clean match should be ordinary, 2 guys giving it their all and one winning after a hard fight, and the cheap chair shot should shock you. It's currently ass backwards, and cheap endings cheapen a match and all the hard work put in it. If more matches could be fought and won like that, a huge gripe I have with WWE would be gone. Then they'd just have to unban and reinstate some moves, and push talent over looks, and I'd be a happy camper :).

ECW is not really a step down. If anything moving main event players like Jericho, Jeff, MVP(eventually), and Kennedy(eventually) would give the roster and the show some serious credibility that it's lacking. Let's be honest Sage, Jeff is not going to get anywhere near the WWE title with Cena, HBK, HHH, and Batista on the shows.

Shelton got a clean win over HHH and look what that did for him. A lot of wrestlers got clean wins over someone like HHH and HBK, yet they still got buried and all their heat was forgotten about in the long run.

We all would, dude.

drug addict dies. the living lie.

“‘In a statement released through Ledger’s publicist, the actor’s father, Kim, said Wednesday: ‘While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath’s accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage.’”

No excess? Are you f’ing kidding me!! What, was he preparing for the next “Elephant Man” movie or what? He certainly took enough drugs to kill one.

No one is asking this father to reject the love he had for his son and will forever hold. Confess your love, but don’t insult the intelligence of other human beings who CHOOSE not to SELF-DESTRUCT and end their lives prematurely.

Leather Hedger was a drug addict, pure and simple. His father is a liar, pure and simple.

- At a recent Ring of Honor show in Chicago, IL, former WWE superstar Joey Matthews (Mercury) was seen backstage coaching alot of the talent. Due to recent cut backs in ROH, Matthews won't be offered a full-time spot until one opens up.

- AAA would like to bring in Vickie Guerrero to induct Eddy Guerrero into the Mexican promotion's hall of fame, but of course, thats unlikely to happen, so AAA may pick one of Eddy's brothers to do the honors.

- ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. lists James Laurinaitis (son of Road Warrior Animal and nephew of WWE's John Laurinaitis) is listed as the top linebacker for the 2009 NFL Draft, projecting him as a top five selection. Laurinaitis decided against entering this year's draft to return for his senior season at Ohio State University.

- Samoa Joe's current TNA contract will expire in June of this year. Joe signed a 3 year deal with TNA in 2005. He was offered a renewel in 2007 but rejected the deal. There is talk that Joe will get the TNA World Title soon but we will have to wait and see on that.

- Tickets for the 2008 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony go on sale March 1st.

-- In an interview with www.inyourheadonline.com, Juventud Guerrera said that Sean "X-Pac" Waltman got depressed and tried to commit suicide in Mexico -- his current residence. Guerrera said that Waltman is now in a treatment facility in the U.S. Guerrera noted that he visited Waltman last week and is doing well.

-- There is a message on his Jake Roberts' MySpace from rehab in which he talks about the experience thus far and thanks Vince McMahon & WWE. Roberts said, "After all, recovery certainly isn't cheap. Well folks, the truth is, think what you want justify or summarize, I don't care. But Vince McMahon and the WWE saved my life, plain and simple. Do I like it? The fact is, I don't. But I am damned sure grateful. NO I don't like having slid to where I was at, feeling like I did. NO, oh no, but the truth is I was a dead man walking. Still breathing, heart still beating, but my soul was dead and gone. So thank all of you, my friends, my family, my fans, especially Vince McMahon. Thank you for tossing me that life preserver. Yes Vince you threw me a life preserver, and I grabbed hold of it."

-- At AAA's Rey de Reys show on March 16, they're going to be inducting Eddie Guerrero into their Hall of Fame. Vickie Guerrero wanted to do the honors of inducting Eddie, but WWE isn't allowing her to attend. Right now, AAA is talking with one of Guerrero's brothers.

-- Canada.com has an article on WWE's latest Diva signee, 23-year-old B.C. Lions cheerleader Angela Fong. "I am so scared," Fong says. "I don't know what to expect." She boarded a flight for Tampa, Florida on Saturday night.

- Although Shawn Michaels remains the favorite to wrestle Ric Flair in his retirement bout at Wrestlemania, Vince McMahon is said to have an issue with the fact that a new talent talent wouldn't be able to get the exposure by going over in such a monumental match.

- Abyss nor Judas Mesias suffered any major injuries after the Barbed Wire Massacre 2 match was taped in Orlando several weeks ago.

- Both Rellik (Johnny Stamboli) and Survivor star Johnny Fairplay could be appearing at this week's TNA tapings in Orlando. With regard to Flairplay it's not known whether he has signed a new contract with the company but he is scheduled to be in Orlando.

- For those wondering, the new TNA Knockout that debuted at 'Against All Odds' last night was 2005 WWE Diva Search contestant Trenesha Biggers. The 6'2'' Diva has previously worked with WWE as a developmental talent and was trained by Marty Jannetty.

-- Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson said that his upcoming movie, Witch Mountain, will begin production next month in Las Vegas. He said his role in the movie will be the biggest single lead movie role of his career because this movie will be the biggest budgeted movie and biggest in terms of box office movie expectations in his career. In other Rock related movie news, he's heading to Europe to promote The Game Plan and they hope after he's done promoting it that the figures for the movie will end up between $140 and $150 million. Also, Rock said that test marketing for his other upcoming movie, Get Smart, tested very high and that people thought it was funny. The movie will be released on June 20.

-- "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is looking for non-WWE movie work since they only have one movie earmarked at the moment, that being a film starring John Cena, which is slated for release in September. No word yet if Austin has managed to land anything. WWE Films' The Condemned and his small role in The Longest Yard in 2005 alongside some other wrestlers remain as Austin's lone movie credits.

-- WWE has signed Ohio independent wrestler Tyrone Evans to a developmental contract.

-- The list for this year's WWE Hall of Fame inductees is almost complete. Two names we know for sure are Ric Flair, and Mae Young. Young is said to be a lock for the WWE Hall of Fame. Another name getting some considering is former announcer Gordon Solie. Dusty Rhodes is pushing hard for Solie to get inducted, since it's in Florida and that's where he made his name. The problem is that Solie never spoke well of McMahon when he was alive, and that doesn't help his chances obviously. Solie has gotten a significant amount of votes from the selection panel in the past, but McMahon vetoes his induction. Two other individuals up for consideration are Peter Maivia, The Rock's grandfather that passed away in 1982, and Rocky Johnson, The Rock's father. Their inductions hinge on The Rock's schedule getting cleared during WrestleMania weekend. He's definitely up for the idea. Internally, the belief is that The Rock is coming. Furthermore, there is an unwritten rule in that WWE doesn't want to induct more than one or two deceased individuals per year. They don't want the event to be a downer and the last thing they want to do is a put a spotlight on death.

-- Chris Jericho has been offered a book deal to write a sequel to "A Lion's Tale." That would likely cover his career from the time his book left off, which was his WWE debut in August 1999. Jericho hasn't signed the deal yet.

-- Ticket sales for a Monday Night Raw taping in Anaheim, CA on 2/18 have been a bit slow. Thus far, they've only sold 6,500 tickets. Part of it may be because WWE is holding a Raw brand house show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles two days before the Raw taping in Anaheim.

-- The WWE theme song CD dropped to No. 118 in the most recent Billboard chart. The CD has sold 94,809 copies thus far, not including sales from Wal-Mart.

-- Vince McMahon is said to be training harder than usual, which is leading some to believe that he'll have a match at WrestleMania. From the direction they're going on television, it appears that some sort of McMahon vs. Finlay match is in the works, but it hasn't been 100% confirmed yet. Mick Foley's name has been tossed around, but they've done nothing to indicate that he's coming back and they've been building up the feud between McMahon and Finlay for weeks.

-- With the sudden passing of Triple H's sister's husband on Monday, Stephanie McMahon missed the Raw taping as well due to the family emergency.

-- Former WWE star "Razor Ramon" Scott Hall has taken up WWE's rehab offer. Apparently, Hall had a recent breakdown in Puerto Rico. He then decided to take up WWE's offer. Hall is staying at the same rehab center former WWE star Jake "The Snake" Roberts is currently situated at, which is in Atlanta. Roberts is currently nine weeks into his fourteen-week stay at the facility.

-- Regarding the WWE developmental firings last week, the feeling was that none of the guys let go were ever going to be brought up to the main roster, so there was no point in keeping them under contract.

-- April Hunter posted a blog on her MySpace regarding the closure of Ohio Valley Wrestling. She and husband/indy wrestler JD Michaels moved down to Louisville, KY this past fall for the sole purpose of him landing a WWE developmental contract through OVW. Michaels started in OVW after Christmas and was starting to make appearances on their television show. With the closure of OVW this past week, that leaves the couple in a troubling situation, especially considering that they signed a 14-month lease on their Louisville residence. As if that isn't enough, unlike OVW, Florida Championship Wrestling rarely allows non-contracted talent to appear on their shows, and with the arrival of all of the WWE-contracted OVW talents, it's pretty much impossible now. Anyway, here is what Hunter wrote regarding the situation: "I'm reeling right now...we signed a 14 month lease and moved specifically FOR the WWE ties with OVW...it cost us a fortune to move just three short months ago...JD was doing very well there, which he just started after Christmas. But there's nothing here in L'ville except OVW. No paying work, hardly any paying wrestling. Half the deals we do get in life here are directly related to OVW, including my spine therapy. And let's be honest...without the WWE connection, Ovw is more or less just another school. And most of us have already been through school already. In summation, this means we spent lots of $$, moved here for a situation that, - three months later - is closed and relocated to Tampa, Florida. There was another girl who just moved across the world over the weekend from Australia, paid up and started classes at OVW Monday. But at least she stays with a friend and doesn't have to worry about breaking leases. If I'd known it was going to be like this, I'd have moved to Tampa (and would probably be a manager on TNA by now.) So, I don' t know what's going on right now. I don't really know what to do. I guess we'll figure it out."

-- WWE has signed a 23-year-old Canadian model by the name of Angela Fong to a developmental contract. She is a former cheerleader for the Canadian Football League's B.C. Lions. Fong, who has no wrestling experience, will be reporting to Florida Championship Wrestling soon. Fong is the third model to be signed to a developmental contract in the past week; the others being 2007 Diva Search contestant Taryn Terrell and former Playboy/'Hooters' model Beverley Mullins. CW11 News had an interview with Mullins and a few other models this past week and she confirmed that she is now with WWE.
