The Wolverine The Stealth Express of Doom News & Discussion Thread: - Part 4

BTW, film is PG13 according to the TV spot I saw tonight.

This is not a major problem in itself. the Dark Knight trilogy managed to imply quite a lot of brutal happenings without actually showing it on camera, far more disturbing in some ways.

Comic books for Marvel don't tend to be ultra violent in what they show unless its a MAX series. I still think Wolverine can look full on bad-ass without blood and limbs flying if done properly.

the sword fights shown in the trailer look dangerous anyway.

Jackman's Wolverine voice sounds more perfect than ever.

Saw ads for the movie on buses and cabs in NYC today. :woot:

Please tell me we're not going to get into the whole R-rating discussion again.

I just saw a Coors Light commercial with a Wolverine tie-in promo (adamantium cans??) during the Yankee game.

Hopefully that magazine has the real workout in. Too many times I've seen a magazine say they have a work out from XX film and it never is at all, just a quick overview.

The Japanese poster is great, what is that reflecting in the blade?

In all seriousness, it looks to be the outline of a city. Probably Tokyo.

I've noticed that a lot too. It happens all the time, with almost any of the big stars workouts. "Here's the 300 workout! Here's Thor's workout!" etc etc. When I actually try to google these things, I usually end up getting tons of different results.

I think the reason this is though, is because I don't think they do set routines. Going off what a lot of the actors say in interviews, I think their trainers switch up their training quite a bit, so it isn't your typical "Okay, on monday's we'll do four sets on bench, four sets of flys etc. etc"

Not entirely about the movie, but I took my nephew to see Despicable Me 2 this morning, and when Gru's new partner finds out she's being transferred to Australia, she says:

"I'm already working on my accent: Wallaby! Didgerido! Hugh Jackman!"

:funny:

Comic-Con has released Day 1 of its 2013 schedule. As usual, the convention is releasing its schedule on day at a time. Stay tuned for the Friday, Saturday and schedules later this week. For now, here’s the complete opening-day schedule:

10:30am
The Anatomy of Superhero Film Music: Bringing a Comic Book to Life
Leading Hollywood film directors and composers-including composer Marco Beltrami with director James Mangold (The Wolverine), composer Brian Tyler with director Shane Black (Iron Man 3), composer Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Captain America: Winter Soldier) with director Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class), composer Christopher Lennertz (Marvel: Agent Carter), composer John Debney (Iron Man 2, Sin City) and music supervisor Dave Jordan (The Avengers)-discuss the creation of the musical voice behind the hero. Following in tradition with a long-running franchise, the panelists will explore the challenges faced when bringing a comic book character to life and giving that character a voice. Additionally, composers will discuss working with directors and how they work together to convey the story of the character. Composers will discuss creating a theme, transforming the theme throughout the storyline, and following the often uphill battle that our heroes travel. All panelists will show examples of their work. With Q&A moderated by Ray Costa (award-winning journalist/ CEO of Costa Communications, a leading film music public relations firm).
