Amazing.

Was a bit worried it'd be gimmicky given the movie didn't quite have that feeling for a black-and-white release, but yeah that's surprisingly working.

I'm sure someone out there may think the choice was very on the nose, but "Hurt" really was the perfect song for this trailer.

Watching any trailer for this film never gets old to me.

It's also perfect considering Laura's comic book origins. Kyle listened to the song as he created her, wrote the lyrics to the song on the cover of the miniseries scripts, cried when he saw the first trailer....

The song has such meaning to both Logan and Laura. I can't imagine any other song fitting Logan as much as this does.

Agreed, but it was such a shame it wasn't used in the actual movie.

I'm glad, if they played it in the end I would never ever stop crying and it was hard to stop as it was
Plus The Man Comes Around is a much better fit anyways. I love the symbolism between going from Hurt to The Man Comes Around.

Wolverine vs X-24 in the farmhouse looks amazing in monochrome. Wowsa.

And be honest, how many of yall winced when X-24 stabs Logan in the armpit?

I was worried about how those farmhouse scenes would turn out, given how it takes place at night, but it looks even better than the original version with the truck's headlights. Charles' seizure effects look even more harrowing in monochrome as well.

I didn't link this the first time the film came out, but there's a few great interviews with Francois Audouy, the set designer. The shot of Logan being lifted up to the cliff where the kids were was done in camera!

Also, I don't know if people have seen the commemorative poster that was given out tonight for the fans who wore all black and white, but all I can say is I am incredibly jealous.

This and both harpoon moments really had me gasping and going all 'stop hurting them!'

Hutch Parker says they have no plans on a recast anytime soon

“It’s a great question. Look, I think for all of us, at the moment, and for some of us it goes back to the very first time Hugh put on the costume. The idea of casting someone else as Wolverine is just not something I can think about,” he shared with a laugh. “And I don’t know. There’s part of me that thinks that he’s done such a brilliant job and is so iconic in the part, that we should leave it alone. And yet, I know there’s always a possibility that either we find a story, or a situation comes along where you think, ‘OK, maybe we should consider that.’ But at the moment, we’re kind of leaving that alone.”

Mangold on the deaths at the mansion

“I literally had written an opening which started with that sequence,” said Mangold. “And so it was quite literal, who was dead. But the reason we didn't do it wasn't to spare other films, it was that it redefined the movie. It made the movie about the X-Men, instead of being about Logan and Charles. And irrevocably, when you read the script opening that way, it became about this other tragedy, as opposed to that tragedy being something hovering like a shadow in the background for these characters.”

Funny way to end DOFP then to open with Logan lol

I'll say this again, I don't think the original designer knew what a wolverine was either. :oldrazz:

i know what they say but quite honestly i don't know how they get around it.
wolverine is most popular x-men character.that's equilvent of carrying on dceu without batman.some continue to insist they plan to catch up to present.having no wolverine creats more contunity errors.

if they stick to 1990's with main x-men films they can get away poentialy for next trilogy without wolverine.

if they are really serious about this it raises odds they won't keep x-23 isolated from rest of films.they may very well include her in x-force.let's remember x-23 replaced wolverine in comics.

if anything this interview if parker is serious says there is no reboot of x-men planned anytime soon.

I'm thinking Wolverine will be recast within the next three or four years. The character is bigger than the actor. James Bond, Spiderman, Batman have all been at this stage. Ironman's time is coming too.

Putting a recast Wolverine in a more comic accurate Yellow and brown or yellow and blue costume will also help a lot.

Well if they decide to let Mangold make his X23 spin off then you can bet it will be set after Logan because Mangold will likely want to continue the story in the world he set up rather then go backwards since the reason why he set Logan when he did was so he could have a clean slate to work with.

They will probably make alpha flight in 2033 and have it be about X23 and the kids from Logan.

No to recast, he has been Wolverine even in prequels, alternative timeline sequels and whatever else was happening in this messed up storyline. Just continue with Laura.
