I would have loved to see a sword fight sequence, but I guess the best is saved for last. The train scene was ok.

Just one way to improve the train scene (if they just had to have it) would be to have at some other time of the day: dawn, dusk, dark, whatever. The lighting really isn't flattering and makes the green screen so obvious.

Yeah the clip is ok. It always looked the worst part from the trailers and as someone else stated the editing was choppy.

But its just a 90 second clip and may look better in the final thing, but I am glad this the way as it tempers my over enthusiasm for the film that was building and makes me realise my expectations needed to be lowered.

I still have hope for the final thing but it is still with a pinch of scepticism.

It's a pretty goofy looking scene imo. Hopefull there are not alot of set pieces like this and more focus on choreogrphed fighting.

What is exactly the problem with that scenes? just curious....

It looks great and when i think of goofy action scenes in CBM movies, that one isn't what comes to mind.

The music does not fit the scene either I dont think very well.

Yeah the music felt off and the editing was off too but it was a okay clip nothing great still looking forward to the movie though

Hmm... i don't really see a problem with the music either.

To me personally, what makes an action scene works, if there's a..nice flow to it. Wheter it looks fake or not not can be overlook if the whole thing just flows great from one sequence to another.

Playing Leap frog and flying Logan at the end.

So it's a suspension of disbelief thing...

Not really a problem with how the whole sequence was choreographed/directed.

I remember people having the same reaction with the Spidey vs Dock Ock train fight scene when it was shown in the trailer...that it looks fake, to CGI etc etc, and that scene ended up as hands down one of the best fight scenes in CBM.Period.

No, I think it looks stupid, cheap and similar to scenes in Origins.

I agree. It is one of the best fight scenes ever. Spider-Man and Wolverine should not fight in the same style set pieces though.

I want to see well choreographed fights with rage in a Wolverine film. Not Wolverine flying on top of a train.

The setup just looks like a big excuse to have stuff flying at you in 3D if you paid for it.

You make it seem like they gave him flying powers

Well, I don't think physics are exactly playing a legit role in the scene haha. He is pretty much flying through the air in that last shot. I think you all know what part I'm talking about when I said that.

I'm loking forward to the flick and that scene has really been my biggest issue since the trailer. Pretty much my only one. If some of you dig it then more power to you

What keeps me relatively worry free (?), at this point, is Mangold's seeming confidence in the film. He appears to genuinely be proud of it, so I'm not terribly up in arms about an edited for internet, out of context clip. Fingers crossed.

Precisely, and I'm one of the few who kinda likes the bullet-train-scene, here...:yay:

I don't see why some are complaning. It's nowhere near the misses of Origins.

I am looking forward to being excited finally for a film this summer.

Me and danoyse are on Team-Bullet Train as well! :D  Personally I dug the clip.

We're having shirts made.

I actually don't want to see too many clips before I see the movie, so I was fine with getting a bullet-train clip. The movie looks like it's going to be fun. :woot:

I said the same thing about MoS but then watched all of them lol

You're in an online forum about superhero films. Think about it. =)

I for one loved the clip. Green screen is going to be noticeable. However, it didn't take me out of the fight. I found it very engrossing.

Err, no. To anyone who thinks he's flying think about it for a second. He's using his strength to vault forward, the wind is blowing him forward(no sillier than the end of x1 in the SoL) and the train is moving so fast beneath him it LOOKS like he's flying, when really he's only vaulting a few feet, using the momentum to propel him forward into the guys chest.

They set the physics up the whole damn time, people flying around and having to hold on for their lives. Wolverine works With it and uses it to his advantage to probably kill the guy. This works perfectly fine. The physics may not be 100% right, but it's 100% believable. It works great, and looks a lot better in context than in the trailers.

The green screen/cgi looks no worse than anything in Captain America:TFA. Remember the montage junk? I can get over it and enjoy it. The scene looks better than anything in x3 that's for damn sure. (Wolverine being tossed by colossus BOTH times looked absolutley deplorable)

Not having powers shouldn't really effect his technique. Maybe it is all the film and combat sports I watch, but he just never quite looks right.

*facepalm* this movie is about developing his technique. He's never really had any technique since x1, just a hunter like thrasher.

You wouldn't quite look right on top of a speeding bullet train either, yet he is still composed and uses it to his advantage, knocking guys off one by one, they have no chance.

The real test is the rooftop/snow ninja fight, this is totally forgivable because of the physics behind it and the stakes, but the ninja fight will be on the ground in normal conditions. I'd be more worried about that than this train sequence.

I know what they are going for. I never said he had flying powers, you took both my comments way too literal for some reason. And no, I don't think it looks believable or realistic. Like MagnarTheGreat said it looks like an excuse for things to fly at you in 3D. It looks incredibly fake and staged to me, which is why I don't like it.

For some of us, seeing Hugh Jackman looking like he's flying right at you will be awesome. :awesome:
