Those sound awesome and that theres alot more to the scene then shown in the released clip.

One of the other reports said that just before the Yakuza show up, we see that Logan is not healing from a gunshot wound, so he's apparently got that going on during that whole sequence too.

There was another shot during that behind-the-scenes feature where we can see that he's limping...I wonder if that's connected to the bullet train scene too?

TV spot just aired on NBC with the tagline "Legend's don't die, they evolve". No new footage though but a good spot

He was in different clothes for that and the wound looked fresh, so I don't think they're related.

Could be...although the recap on Latino Review said it's part of the bullet train scene:

Wolverine is in a complete daze as he tries to figure out what’s going on with his mutant healing ability. He opens up his shirt to see the bullet wound that’s irritating him. The bullet is lodged in him pretty good and he’s not healing at all. It makes the situation even more difficult when he steps out of the bathroom in the bullet train and is greeted by several yakuza members. They all start fighting him, and even though he’s hurting pretty bad, he manages to rip apart most of his assailants. Eventually the last two continue the fight outside the bullet train, turning up the action a few notches. While the fight is going on, it’s revealed that Mariko (Tao Okamoto) is on the bullet train. Once the fight is over, Wolverine escorts her off the train as they blend into the crowd, trying to get away from whoever else may wish to do them harm.

So I guess that would mean the attack at the funeral happens right before that. Should be a long sequence then.

the trailers and tv spots make it look hype but the shot snippet of the extended bullet train sequence really dissapointed me. I know its the edited version and not the full version, but I can't help but feel that this seems to be an extended version of origins.
The silver samurai battle seems like there is some good choregraphy put into it and so does the last automaton silver samurai fight from what I can gather, but I have a bad feeling about this movie. hopefully everything turns out right, but wolverine and a pg13 rating is usually not a good sign.

The LR guy even wrote that he "opens up his shirt" to check out the bullet. So it's not his leg.

Never said he was shot in the leg in that scene.

There was another shot in the behind-the-scenes where he's limping. Didn't know if that was a result of the bullet train fight or not.

I hope they do 10+ more films in this X-men universe. Some fans cry about Hugh Jackman and complain that the films would be better with a different actor and can be successful without him but to the public and movie going audiences The Wolverine is Hugh Jackman. Plus the fact that Fox owns these movie rights and not Marvel is pointless. Fox is 7 X-men films in and shows no signs of stopping. So accept this truth that you can't change that fact and enjoy these films on their own merit and not hate them just because Fox owns them. And to say Fox is just after money is stupid. It has the same goals as every other studio out there.

I'm hoping FOX would release at least five more X-Men films before rebooting it! :woot:

Wolverine will always be pg-13. I don't know why your thinking an R rating would be better. Nudity? Gratuitous and unessecary blood and violence?(limbs being ripped off, heads exploding etc) The F word over used?

Robocop and a pg-13 rating isn't a good sign, but wolverine can handle it just fine!

I only remember one shot of him limping, which was when he was shot in the leg. That's why I mentioned the leg regarding the bullet train sequence. And why would he be limping like that without a leg wound?

In that shot in the featurette, his leg has obviously recently been wounded. Also, in that preview for the HBO First Look, you can see him wearing the same clothes (blue shirt, brownish pants) while running (no limp) before he's wounded. There's nothing suggesting the limp and bullet train sequence are connected. I'll rewatch the featurette to see if he's limping in another shot.

The opening to the X-Men Origins video game is pretty friggen awesome in all fairness. That's some of the coolest stuff I've seen Wolverine do in the movies or Cartoons.

hugh Jackman has been called one of nicest people In Hollywood.

I work as a concierge in an apartment building in SOHO, Manhattan. For about a year Hugh, his wife and kids lived where I work. He was in town filming that movie he did with Ewan Macgregor. He was really a nice person, very down to earth who was raising his kids to be respectful and good natured. When he moved out of the building he gave us all on staff a nice tip and we all got posters of the PRESTIGE signed by Bale, Cain and himself. A real nice guy.

He was a really cool person. I am a huge comic freak, and I told the super at the building to let him know that there was a big superhero fan here, but not to be worried, I wasn't going to try and steal his hair and sell it on Ebay or anything. :yay:

Sweet!

He lived at this place for less than a year, right before he went off to shoot ORIGINS. The day he was moving out I picked up a WIZARD'S BEST WOLVERINE STORIES OF ALL TIME bound book and gave it to him. I told him that these were the stories that should influence the solo Logan film. Needless to say, my advice was ignored. :oldrazz:

well its not really the rating, but the admantium claws always appeared fake during fights to me except for the Lady deathstrike fight in X2. Like there is no marks to show for, never really feeling the impact. The samurai fight seems to be promising, but the bullet train sequence reminded me a lot of origins, where he just wails and hover his claws without actually cutting anything.

and tbh Wolverine is known for shredding and tearing his foes, at least show the claws going through something or someone, or show a little blood. I have a feeling that the rating is handicapping this movie. Most importantly I want well choregraphed fight scenes, not just wolverine throwing his punches and just wailing around his claws.

Yea but do you think it would work in Hollywood? Ya know with Hugh Jackman actually doing that stuff. I'd personally love to see it, but it's just not smart. It works in the game perfectly because its a different form of media/entertainment. There's not as much stake in the success of something like that, and also why we haven't gotten another one of those games for this movie. A game has certain freedoms that are overlooked that movies don't.

I understand how Hugh cares about the kids and that he is a role model. The parents would revolt, we would be riding the rainbow for that particular R rated movie, but wolverine would probably be ruined for the rest of our lifetime due to studios dumbing him down even more.

At least thats my thinking on it. i dont ask for much with my comic movies. i enjoy most, if not all of them, they are great. I think its comfortable with how he is portrayed right now, we have that friggin awesome game, and this movie I'm positive will push the limits of pg 13, no question. Jackman is a class act and I'm happy he was involved and did the voice work on the game. I hope there is an unrated cut for the blu ray release. Home video is so important now a days and if that's a huge success then we COULD potentially see an r rated wolverine, but I doubt it will be with Jackman.
