I really hope they use that. Gives the film more of an event feel and it looks sick!

I know this is more of an "inspired by" type deal than a direct adaptation of the Japan story, but can anyone in the know confirm if there is a wooden sword type scene in this? That sequence always stood out for me, for some reason.

Well, that clip....i dont know..i think is OK.. but i think it shoud'nt be the 1st released clip..looks very...generic...very "Origins". It shoud have been another kind of clip/footage, the first footage should make people think this movie is different...make them curious...and this was a bad choice..

Yep. Straight out of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Smells like it.

The part that looked the most cruddy since Trailer 1 and of course it's what this clip is. Sigh.

They should release a character driven clip, like when Wolverine meets Yashida after all their time apart. I love Yashida's reaction in the Ronin featurette "Whoaaaa, you look the same" lol

Just saw a tv spot. So does the Silver Samurai's sword produce his usual mutant abilities, as opposed to the character himself?

The last trailer that came out a month ago makes me think this will at least be good. The quick shots of all the sword fighting looks sweet. Also love the additional black and white posters. Brilliant really.

With movies like Man of Steel or Pacific Rim, Wolv cant go for the "spectacle", cause it probably looses. Audiences have seen everything this Summer. Special effects, destruction.. it should go for the emotion, the difference, the charisma...

Yeah, that isn't good. Outside of the school attack in X2, they have never really got Wolverine in combat. He should be quick, powerful, and brutal. He should look like he knows what he is doing.

The reports on the 20 minutes or so said this is exactly what it is, it focuses on character, the gravitas, the clip looks pretty cool, and looks nothing like Origins (where the hell does that even come from?), plus if you read the reactions, they say the sequence is really spectacular as a whole, contrary to what is shown in the trailers.

Not having powers shouldn't really effect his technique. Maybe it is all the film and combat sports I watch, but he just never quite looks right.

The clip is probably aimed at the young male video game audience which is exactly what Machinima's demographic and purpose is. I hope it only gets better from here!

In addition to the fresh footage, 20th Century Fox told Mashable it will live stream the red carpet arrivals during the intimate July 16 premiere in London. The embeddable stream will be available to watch on Livestream as well as The Wolverine and X-Men Facebook pages. The film's stars, director and producer will begin arriving at 1 p.m. EST (6 p.m. BST).

Two days later, on July 18, MSN will host a Skype chat with Jackman and director James Mangold. Fans are encouraged to apply to ask questions to them directly, and MSN will pick some to ask Jackman and Mangold their questions face-to-face via Skype.

X-Men enthusiasts have until July 11 to tell MSN (at [email protected]) why they are the biggest Wolverine fan. Non-winners can still ask questions during the chat using #msnwolverine. The chat will start at 11:05 a.m. EST (4:05 p.m. BST).

Like others have said, the clip is okay but not the one I would have chosen to better distance the film from Origins. Magnar makes a good point about demographics, though. What keeps me relatively worry free (?), at this point, is Mangold's seeming confidence in the film. He appears to genuinely be proud of it, so I'm not terribly up in arms about an edited for internet, out of context clip. Fingers crossed.
