Hmmm. Well, here's an article (extremely conservative in nature, so venture at your own risk ) about Lois Lane and how women's portrayal in the Superman-verse has changed through the years in a negative way:

I seriously roll my eyes at a LOT of that nonsense, but there's a few points that do ring true. And without getting too political (never talk religion or politics in an open forum - you're only asking for trouble) it DOES make me wonder how SR will be received by the right wing when it unspools. Of course, if I'm correct and the reveal at the end of the film is that the kid is really Superman's, well I guess that will quell the general public. In all honestly, I'll be SHOCKED if it's not.


Anyhoo, thought it was an interesting read, even if I disagree with most of it.

yeah over the weekend, singer stated the child is of lois and richard, the have a child out of wedlock. lol take that right wing.

I just read the bulk of the thread about this on the Planet. It seems that Singer confirmed that the "child is Lois's".. but I'm not sure if he confirmed anything about Richard being the father. It's really interesting to see the furor over the idea that Lois could have possibly borne a child out of wedlock. Helloo..? Do these people live in the dark ages? Who know's if that's even the situation, Singer has been cagey in his comments prior to a movie's release before apparently.

One thing that occurs to me is how Singer has been quite vocal about the fact that he's adopted and an only child. The concept of this child being very loved and wanted, regardless of parenting is something that must be near and dear to Singer's heart.

I think the easy way out, and the way to appease the rabid fans, is to make it ultimately be Superman's child, in a "surprise" ending. The more interesting, and risky, twist would be to make the child actually be Richard's (who will shortly be killed), or simply a child Lois chose to adopt.

Wow! That plot must have them all talking. I guess it opens the way for future Supes' movies.

I hope it is his kid. I don't mind Lois having a baby out of wedlock as much as the idea of Superman the homewrecker. Besides weren't there enough good stories available that fit it with the mythos? Giving Superman a kid would be one hell of a change.

It will be. Enigma called that one **MONTHS** ago, along with hyper accurate descriptions of the suit long before the infamous photo was released to the press. I'm guessing the Hype got heat from Warners, which is why Enigma has enigmatically disappeared LOL.

Supposedly, the kid has psychic abilities. One scene has him pointing out to the ocean to tell folks Superman is there.

Meh. Whatever. It should come as no surprise to people that Warners wants to milk this puppy for everything it's worth, and a potential Son of Superman film down the road seems like an interesting plan. Just hope they cast it better if and when it does happen.

aHAH! Found it. Looks like a report that may have been originally posted in Latino Review because Robert Sanchez is listed as the author. Somebody re-posted the text over on the SR IMDb boards. I won't link to it, but the thread it titled "SPOILERS!!!! (REALLY BIG IF TRUE)" if you guys are interested.
