Congratulations, Serene! Way to go!!! You rock! You so deserve it (whatever 'it' is). Yay, Serene!!!!

*balloons and confetti rain from the ceiling*
:)

Oh and I finally went to see Batman Begins tonight. I enjoyed it, but couldn't help the inner confusion I was feeling, it was like an inner mantra that kept repeating, "How can Warner's get this so right and yet let other things get so garbled??? Sigh."

The mind still boggles.

...and yet another sigh.... :(

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

WHY DOES YOUR BOSS ASK YOUR OPINION IF THEY ARE JUST GOING TO DO THE OPPOSITE???????

Just needed to vent.

Because they need to prove to you that it doesn't matter what you think...

;)

(me, bitter? no.... )

It's been all week long. The only fun part is watching it blow up in their face.

But then I have to do the cleanup anyway.

ROFL Sorry for my weird sense of humor. It's a result of two months of really bad news at work.

BTW, that's NOT me. :D

I went to Wizard World Chicago today. Got to meet Zorex (a sweetheart) and bought an Alex Ross sketch of Psylocke which he then personalized to me.

Also saw Margot Kidder. I didn't really care to pay the $20 to get her autograph, but I did look to see if any of the photos she had for sale were from SV. The guy with her said all the SV ones had sold out. He also said that every other person was asking her about SV. Guess it wasn't such a bad gig after all.. eh, Margot? ;)

OH! And when I was looking at the Alex ross stuff they had for sale.. I got to see both of his original Tom as Supes drawings. I practically drooled over them. Gah.. I wanted to whip out the credit card soooo bad, but figured the ensuing divorce would cost me even more ultimately.

The one below was $1500.. and the other (which I don't have a picture of) was the same, I think.

Cool, Wouldn't it be great to have that kind of money laying around all well.Margot Kidder is an idiot and worse her manager is a crook. I bought some stuff off of Ebay (not related to her) and the jerk quit Ebay and never sent my stuff. Birds of a feather I suppose. Anyway who is Zorex?

Thought this was cool, no one does a rebel yell like good ol' boy, Bo Duke! (never mind that he's from New York... ;) )

It's also nice to see that Scott doesn't have any illusions that that the film was art...

Plot? What plot?

:D

Movie Dukes Praise Schneider's Yell
Tue Aug 9, 7:46 AM ET

Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott, who play Luke and Bo Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard," didn't exactly perfect the art of "yee-haw" for the film.

In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine, Knoxville says he felt like "half a man" when he heard John Schneider, who played Bo Duke on the '70s TV series, do the rebel yell.

"John Schneider comes up to us last night at the premiere. He's giving us these big hugs, and he goes, `Let's do a yee-haw!' And he belts out this Tarzan-like `yee-haw,' and I was like, `That's kinda how we were supposed to do it, Seann.'"

Knoxville plays Luke Duke, and Scott plays cousin Bo. Jessica Simpson is denim short shorts-wearing cousin Daisy Duke, Catherine Bach's role in the TV series, which ran from 1979-1985.

Ben Jones, who played wisecracking mechanic Cooter on the popular series, has called the movie — which took in an estimated $30.7 million on its opening weekend — a "sleazy insult."

"Every place we went to — we did all this regional press, and city by city, they'd all talked to Ben Jones. He's got a hellava publicist," Knoxville says.

As for the plot, Scott says: "Plot? What plot? Plot's just an excuse to blow (expletive) up and see Jessica in her shorts! You don't want a plot with `Dukes of Hazzard.' (Pause.) It could've been nice to have one."

Oh, how cool!!! Little does he know he was the FIRST Supes' fan I ever PM'd. He made a fan-freakin'-tastic Superman film trailer using clips from Rosetta and street scenes from Spider-Man and played it to Evanescence's, "My Last Breath." To THIS day, I still pull up that trailer and watch it. Totally brings a tear to my eye. :( I brought it down with me on one of my NY trips last year and played it for anybody who was remotely interested in seeing a new Superman film. I got so excited about it, I PM'd him to tell him I'd be showing it to some industry folks. I don't know what's more funny though - the fact that people thought I was a nut for shopping a film that was in development hell for ten years, or that I came to find out Zorex didn't really want Welling in the pic to begin with. LMAO!! Oh, the irony.

Eh. Iz still a good trailer. ;)

That makes me laugh. I kinda hope that continues to happen - just rub it in doncha know? :p

Hee! I know the feeling. I once spent $500 on a jacket I'd never wear and my hubby just rolled his eyes. Long story, but there's a reason "fan" comes from "fanatic." ;)

Is it still for sale? If that drawing ever ended up in front of me, I WOULD buy it! I. Kid. You. Not! Sad, but very, very true.

It is a gorgeous picture, isn't it?

Who's Zorex, and does he still have a link to that trailer? It sounds delicious.

Understatement of the year. I LOOOOOVE that drawing. I can't begin to tell you how much that drawing appeals to me. It was my wallpaper for months, and in essence, is what got me posting on this or any other Superman-related message board. I really flipped when I first saw it.

I present, Zorex:

If he doesn't have the trailer on line somewhere, I can upload it to my own server tonight, no prob.

Unless someone bought it that day or the next, I would assume so. I wish I had a picture of the other one.. The guy working the booth said I could probably get that one for $1000. *Sigh* If I wasn't paying college tuition for many years to come, I just may have taken one of those home. It killed me to walk away.

I'll have Zo check out this thread. He is a SV fan and posts here on occasion.

o ma goodness, you two are too sweet :)

Was I really?? How cool indeed!

I had fun making that trailer. I usually DO have fun making any of them, but that one was different from the others...I put Tom in the lead and set it to some non-Williams, non-orchestral/symphonic music.

Industry folk? How come I don't remember that? damn you, brain cobwebs, damn you straight to the hell city of Dis. bah. Well, I don't think I can thank you enough for your comments, let alone this. I'm just so happy that you enjoyed it so much.

You know what's changed since I made that trailer? My opinion on Welling. Season 4, IMO, was a bit out there, and often I found myself displeased with the direction it was being taken. But out of all of it, and mostly/mainly in the fantastic season finale, I found myself genuinely impressed with Welling. If he had been cast, my opinion now would be different than my opinion back when I made the My Last Breath teaser. [of course, had he been cast, we might not have seen the finale...d'oh]. He has a good look, one that could definitely work for Supes, as I believe Brandon has a good Superman look. So, that's that. ;)

If you could, would you put it online? Ever since BT went blog-errific, and the trailers got taken down [I heard they were going to be moved to a new site, also to be run by Dan-El and J], it's not been seen online...and honestly, I can't remember where I put the disc with that and my other trailers.

oh, and let me take this moment to plug Evanescence's "My Last Breath": It's an amazing song. Bittersweet, to a degree. It has a WONDERFUL string backing, which is part of the reason I used it in the teaser. And, of course, Amy Lee's voice and very cool layering/harmonizing effects.

Thanks again, Pat, I really really appreciate it.

and thank you too, Rene :)

LOL! It was spring last year. The "industry folk" were friends of mine who do the external advertising for HBO's original programming. Everybody got together for the Tribeca Film Festival. It was a casual gathering, but I was pretty excited (understatement) about the prospects of Welling going on to do the film, especially after the Ross drawings were surreptitiously revealed and said to be Ross' own personal doodles. Uhhuh. Yeah. Riiiiiight. LOL

Amazing how so many things can change so swiftly over the course of just a few months. :(

Well, I don't think I can thank you enough for your comments, let alone this. I'm just so happy that you enjoyed it so much.
Oh, I STILL enjoy it. Your trailer and Smsvmos' LSOK montage to Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams always puts a lump in my throat. There's a love for the character as portrayed by TW in both vids that really pulls on the ole heart strings for me.

You know what's changed since I made that trailer? My opinion on Welling...
 Wow! Really?
