I think the idea of having Riddler obsessed with finding out the Batman's identity would be perfect for his main motivation. The third movie could be more of a battle of the minds through most of it, and maybe add in a second lesser villians for actions sake...very similar to what Nolan did here...heck, even reprise the Joker as the crazy man to Riddler's strait man.

I would love to see the Penguin in the next batman film. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is definitely the right choice for the role.

Agreed , Not to mention With The Riddler's present , We'd touch on another aspect of The Dark Knight character that's never seen to the full extent in a live action adaptation . The World's Greatest Detective, I'd love to see the Detective skills fleshed out alot more . We got a preview in Batman Begins of Bruce skills thankfully Nolan expanded upon than in The Dark Knight . I'd like to see more in the future films .

In future films I'd like to also see three villains that were done poorly in B&R receive proper justice to their portrayal of these Characters .

1. Bane

2. Mr. Freeze

Nolan basically said he wouldn't do Mr. Freeze or Poison Ivy, which is too bad, because he could do a fantastic movie about Mr. Freeze that would be quite tragic and heartbreaking.

Poison Ivy and Harly would be an awesome pair for a movie.

Bane would work with the whole Crime Drama, as would Catwoman, Riddler, or Penguin.

I actually think Black Mask would be a good route and they could do a mask theme, Black Mask wearing the mask of playboy and supervillain, the mob wearing the mask of businessmen and criminals, Gordon and Batman masking the truth of Two-Face.

Al Gore Places Infant Son In Rocket To Escape Dying Planet

July 30, 2008 | Issue 44•31
Gore and son

Young Gore sets out for his new home, where the sky is clear, the water is clean, and there are no Republicans.

EARTH—Former vice president Al Gore—who for the past three decades has unsuccessfully attempted to warn humanity of the coming destruction of our planet, only to be mocked and derided by the very people he has tried to save—launched his infant son into space Monday in the faint hope that his only child would reach the safety of another world.

"I tried to warn them, but the Elders of this planet would not listen," said Gore, who in 2000 was nearly banished to a featureless realm of nonexistence for promoting his unpopular message. "They called me foolish and laughed at my predictions. Yet even now, the Midwest is flooded, the ice caps are melting, and the cities are rocked with tremors, just as I foretold. Fools! Why didn't they heed me before it was too late?"

Al Gore—or, as he is known in his own language, Gore-Al—placed his son, Kal-Al, gently in the one-passenger rocket ship, his brow furrowed by the great weight he carried in preserving the sole survivor of humanity's hubristic folly.

"There is nothing left now but to ensure that my infant son does not meet the same fate as the rest of my doomed race," Gore said. "I will send him to a new planet, where he will, I hope, be raised by simple but kindly country folk and grow up to be a hero and protector to his adopted home."

As the rocket soared through the Gore estate's retractable solar-paneled roof—installed three years ago to save energy and provide emergency rocket-launch capability in the event that Gore's campaign to save Earth was unsuccessful—the onetime presidential candidate and his wife, Tipper, stood arm-in-arm, nobly facing their end while gazing up in stoic dignity at the receding rocket, the ecosystem already beginning to collapse around them.

In the final moments before the Earth's destruction, Gore expressed hope that his son would one day grow up to carry on his mission by fighting for truth, justice, and the American way elsewhere in the universe, using his Earth-given superpowers to become a champion of the downtrodden and a reducer of carbon emissions across the galaxy.

"Perhaps he will succeed where I have failed," Gore said.

Despite the child's humble beginnings, experts predict the intergalactic journey may have some extraordinary effects on Kal-Al's physique, eyesight, and, potentially, his powers of quiet, sensible persuasion.

"On his new planet, Kal-Al's Earth physiology will react to the radiation of a differently colored sun, causing him to develop abilities far beyond those of mortal men," political analyst Sig Schuster said. "He will be faster than a speeding Prius, stronger than the existing Superfund program, and able to leap mountains of red tape in a single bound. These superpowers will sustain him in his never-ending battle against conservatives, wealthy industrialists, and other environmental supervillains."

Although Gore and his wife voiced regrets that they could not accompany their son on his journey, they tried their best to equip Kal-Al for life on his new planet, providing the infant with a Keynote slide-show presentation of all human knowledge, a self-growing crystal fortress from which to monitor glacier shrinkage, and a copy of Al Gore's 1992 bestseller, Earth In The Balance.

The baby was also wrapped in a blanket emblazoned with the Gore family crest, which, because it is made of Earth materials, will be invulnerable on the new planet. It is hoped that one day it will be fashioned into a colorful costume for the boy to wear while fighting wrongdoers.
"In brightly hued tights, it will be harder for people there to ignore him when he takes on his new planet's lobbyists, auto manufacturers, and enemies of justice," Schuster said. "A bold and eye-catching unitard will give Kal-Al, last son of Earth, a formidable tool for protecting his new planet, a power more awesome than any his father could have dreamed of: the power of charisma."

I was think more along the lines as he could be the new Mob boss in Gotham since both Falcone & Maroni are both out of the picture now .

but your Idea is just as good .

Here's my Black Mask idea that I posted in the Batman sequel board:

I also like the idea of Roman Sionis in the next Bat flick, but I wouldn’t make him a mob boss. I’d stick with the wealthy, corporate CEO angle though. In my sequel, Sionis, the young head of Sionis Holdings, is very similar to Bruce Wayne: he’s young, handsome, and filthy rich. Though they are contemporaries, they aren’t the best of friends. Unlike Bruce though, Roman is known in the press as a kind-hearted philanthropist. He donates millions of dollars to charities across the city. As the movie opens, Sionis has just invested heavily in Gotham’s downtrodden East End section. In fact, he recently poured millions of dollars into a battered women’s shelter that’s run by Dr. Leslie Thompkins. What the public doesn’t know, however, is that Sionis has a dark side, a very twisted dark side. There has been a series of abductions of young women in recent weeks. These crimes have been going on for years (it’s one of GCPD’s cold cases) but the frequency of these occurrences has increased. Women who have survived these abductions in the past have told horrific stories of torture and rape. But the only identifiable characteristic they can remember is that “he wore a black mask.”

It turns out that Roman Sionis has a sadistic fetish for torture. His latest victim is a young social worker at the East End Battered Women’s shelter named Maggie Kyle. Needless to say, Sionis gets outed by the Batman but he also invites the wrath of Maggie’s sister, Selina, a professional cat burglar.

harley, ivy and robin...it seems Nolan doesn't want to do anything fun or funny :(

His version of Batman isn't at all funny, although there are the odd comedic relief moments, so I'm not at all surprised by that...

Although, they should take a look at Loeb's take on Robin in Dark Victory...

Interesting quote from Loeb on why Nolan should use Robin:

Jeph Loeb said:
“Take the time to tell the story properly,” Loeb said. “There is a story of Dick Grayson and how he becomes Robin that is extremely moving and very helpful. …[Grayson/Robin] doesn’t understand why it is that he needs to do this and Bruce doesn’t understand why he’s doing it either because he’s not a parent. He doesn’t know how to be a parent,” Loeb said. “And together, they make each other better people. So that for me would be the next step.”

if tehy did Black Mask id go with the War Games angle with him making himself the main crimelord of Gotham.

why do you feel the need to continue to post comic panels about Batman characters? At least post something funny like this:

I have a question...

Should I be glad that Brandon Routh has so much on his plate according to IMDB?

Or should I be worried his career is only slowed from going completely down the toilet by him working on a film by a guy I knew from a Yahoo writers email group?

*strokes chin thoughtfully*

I don't know, maybe you guys should tell me...

If that helps him getting out of mediocrity after all these years.....

well it gets him out of that bowling alley job, good for him ;)

LOL!

If that helps him getting out of mediocrity after all these years.....

Well, actually I think it's a good move for both men.

Mike's comments in the email group were always smart and funny and the few scripts of his that I'd read were the same. It's good for him to have a fairly well-known actor in his small film.

If this film is as smart and funny as the writer/director is, then it'll be a good one for Brandon to sign up for. It'll help get his humorless past performances out of people's minds.
