Before we all learned of the recent story with the younger boy, "regular" teacher student sex scandals have been going on for ages, just like this one. What's the controversy? Well, simply put, if the student has her as a teacher he could get a better grade. There's no controlling it, and no telling if favors are being traded for grades. Before you know it, other students could get involved, trading sexual favors for grades. It's not nasty persay, just unethical.

I think they're citing the fiduciary duty of a teacher as grounds for the arrest warrant. Beyond the legal age of consent, I didn't know that was actionable. That's all I can gather from the newsclip though.

Actually a lot of schools have a date of around September as a cutoff for allowing certain age kids to start school.

So if you were born in Jan you'd graduate high school at 18 but if you are born after September in many areas you'd start a year later and graduate when you are 19.

I lucked out because I was born in November and they didn't have that rule.
