Typical Brit talk, but with this in the bag can Murray become the dominant force we all thought Novak was going to become a few years ago?

I doubt it. This is his time of the year though. Grass, quicker summer hardcourts, indoor season, that's good news for Murray. But he's still worthless on clay and at a disadvantage against Djokovic and Nadal on slow hardcourts.

Murray's got to get a grip here. He should have been up 3-0, now he's trailing 2-3, 0-30

He trips me out. He was flying all over the place ten minutes ago, now he's puffing about without a leg to stand on.

To be fair as long as Rafa can breathe the Clay season is a complete right-off for everyone else! Interesting you mention Rafa though as most of the pundits here have written him off, Andrew Castle noted "the game has moved on from Federer and even Nadal". Very risky to write him off IMO!

Annoyingly I have to go to work, but just wanted to say that Sakuraba and more recently Frico have done an excellent job in this thread not just during Slams but all year round, this place is my Tennis bible so much appreciation guys!

And Djokovic breaks for 4-2. What a momentum swing!

Absolutely terrible choice from Djokovic to hit a drop volley on a ball that was sitting up to be crushed. Some people can't stand prosperity

0-30

Ah, Murray misses a makeable volley! 15-30

Good body serve from Djokovic but Murray rips a forehand in the corner and puts the academic backhand away, now it's 15-40

Murray again hitting some sick angles off his forehand end and creeps up to break back.

BACK ON SERVE.

AGAIN

Murray's running forehand is so awesome. And again gets to another drop shot. 4-4.

But Djokovic, and at one time Federer, could challenge and beat Nadal on clay. Murray cannot even make it consistently to the quarters at clay events.

Nadal will be back. I think he's done on grass and indoors the same way Federer's done on clay. I don't see any reason why he shouldn't compete for an Australian open title.

Obviously both guys have already won most of the Slams that they're going to get, but they both will win at least one more. They're too damn talented and they are Champions with a capital C.

Well, time to cross the finish line Murray. Horrible error from Djoker.

The thud off that shot for him is effing loud. He also has the ability to turn around and come in behind it, where Delpo couldn't. Just awesome movement

MUZZ SERVES FOR HISTORY!

lol at Prime Minister David Cameron, Bradley Cooper & Gerard Butler

Djokovic gifts Murray by trying a down the line forehand from five feet behind the baseline.

I think Djokovic is ready for this to be over.

Yep, he hits a big lame drop shot next

TRIPLE CHAMPIONSHIP POINT

I.e Butler and Cooper, what's up with those electric blue suits?

Murray wanted to follow that forehand in, and he should have

So many of these points are like...

ShockedFace.gif

Ace, "COME ON", deuce

Murray's jelly legs are leaving some balls short, Djokovic gets cord ball, break point

Second serve, Murray puts tworally balls right on the back of the line, short crosscourt forehand for winner, deuce 2

Drop volley from Murray, Djokovic with an amazing get and amazing pass

Murray comes in behind his big inside out forehand, backhand volley is put to bed. Deuce 3

What a fight. What a goddamn point. I want even try to describe all of the awesome there.

What's this? Championship point #4? Yes it is

Murray got the monkey off his back when he won the US Open. Today was the exclamation point and looked like the dominant player the entire match. His speed, serve and depth of shot all shined today. Novak who looked spent had his chances but made unwise decisions along with errors. Clearly feeling from that Delpo semi.

I'm REALLY happy for Murray. The long wait is over. HISTORY!!!!!!!!

By george his done it.

Just guaranteed himself a knighthood and permanent statue at Wimbledon.

Some guy in the crowd screams during Djokovic's stick save return, a borderline hindrance, and Murray again inside outting his forehand, Djokovic's reply into the net.

Amazing final game.

Murray fought back twice in the second and third set and held his nerve at the end.

Yeah, the only balls he really left short all day happened in the last game when he was nervous.
