Wimbledon time..and Fed already through his 1st round game in straight sets lol.

Murray has pulled out of Wimbledon.
Sucks for him. Seeing Murray, Stan and Novak struggling with their comebacks after injuries sure makes me appreciate the fact that Nadal has had to do that so many times and is still competitive. Darn.

First upset on the women's side today: Sloane Stepehsn outed by Vekic. I'm sad i'm stuck at work and i'm missing Wawrinka vs Dimitrov. Curious to see how Stan looks despite the score. Also, i'd love to see Gasquet vs Mofils. That one should be a fun match to watch.

Edit: and Stan makes a comeback and eliminates Dimitrov! Woa, first upset on the men's side.

I can't believe Fed signed with Uniqlo!

Unreal...
Yeah, the guys from ESPN latin america spoke about that during the FO final. The deal lasts until 2028, no? Do i remember right?

So much FIFA on my mind, didn't even realize this began today.

Only one seeded player upset so far today: Goffin lost to Ebden in straight sets. Muguruza, Nadal, A. Zverev, Del Potro, Kerber are some of the players moving onto the second round. Right now Thiem is 2 sets down to Marcos Bagdhatis though, so keep an eye out for that one.

Still a lot more tennis to come, with Djokovic, Sharapova, Caroline Garcia among the ones waiting in the wings.

Darn, Thiem retired, Bagdhatis moves through. I'm at work and didnt see the match, but hopefully it's nothing too serious going on with Dominic.

Petra Kvitova just lost to Sasnovich, so another seeded player out.

Just noticed the Wimbledon Men's final is on the same day as the (football) World Cup final.

Nadal is like a machine. Yes, sad to see big names not make it or struggle with injury. We really want to see them play each other in their best form at Wimbledon.

The World Cup final is at night so no clash but wow, what a day!

In UK time they are starting 2 hours apart (tennis at 2pm and the football at 4pm), which means there could be a clash if the tennis final is a long game. Quite a shame as many people will switch over and miss the ending.

Agreed. I never wish injury on anyone, even those players that annoy me lol.

Woa, huge upset just now: Pella defeated Cilic. :shock

Can't believe he's out already.

It was 5 sets, but still, i expected Cilic to pull through. One less hassle for Federer, Cilic was on his side of the draw.

Other winners today: Nadal, Djokovic, Anderson, Fabbiano (took out Wawrinka), Kyrgios. On the women's side Osaka, Barty (eliminated Bouchard), Kerber, Gavrilova, Halep, Cibulkova (just took out Konta) advance to the third round.

Did you guys see Wozniacki's comments at the press conference yesterday? What a sore loser :whatever:

How likely is that anyone can upset the chances of a Federer Nadal final?

I didn't even realise Wozniacki was already out! What did she say?

Well, i'd be surprised if Roger lost before the final. Rafa might be more vulnerable, based just on his recent years trend on grass. Rafa has (potentially) Fognini in the 4th (not one to dismissed), Del Potro in the quarters, and i think that would be a huge test for him. Maybe Novak or Zverev in the semis? Still, at the end of the day, who the heck knows. Look at how Roger lost in Halle to Coric when everyone expected him to win lol. You just dont know, maybe someone comes to play inspired and has the match of their lives. The dream final would be Federer vs Nadal though.

Caroline basically said that:
* She played someone who played well above her level and got lucky today, and Caroline doesnt think she will be able to keep that up for the rest of the tournament. She repeated this constantly, which made her sound so condescending.
*Looking at the draw, she could beat 90% of the players there, and the other 10% she had a good chance of beating.
* She was a diva with some bugs flying around in the court during the match lol.

You can find her interview here: http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/video/interviews.html

Darn, Shapovalov and Schwartzman lost today. Zverev is still playing, one set a piece vs. Fritz, third set pretty even so far.

Muguruza out early again.

Geez, just saw. The seeds keep on falling! And Zverev is down 2 sets to 1.

Seems like she has lost earlier than she should more than half the times I've followed her. :csad:

Good luck to all the other guys...once Fed and Nadal have retired. :funny:

That's ok maybe to say once, but to repeat it is too much.

Yeah, big guns falling all over the place.

Another one bites the dust. This time it was Madison Keys, who lost to Rodina. Kevin Anderson just won his match, so he advances to the 3rd round.

Venus out too now.

So on the women's side we basically only have Halep (1) and Pliskova (7) left out of the top seeds.

Getting crazy now.
