The Wolverine The 'The Wolverine' Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 1

Well officaly the Wolverine Is second highest grossing X-Men film worldwide. And while it Is lowest grossing film domesticly It's highest grossing film In series overseas.

It looks great to see The Wolverine being #2 worldwide despite being the lowest grossing X-Men film in the United States.

Wolverine is currently in 11th position as the highest grossing movie of 2013.With the release of Thor,Hobbit and Hunger Games,I think it's safe to say The Wolverine will be among top 15 highest grossing movies of 2013

Yeah probably not. But First Class only reached #18 in 2011. So not reaching the top 15 is nothing new for X-Men movies. And I just noticed Gravity already outgrossed The Wolverine worldwide! ugh!

I'm gonna be so happy next year, when finally a X-Men movie reaches the top 10 again after all these years!

It's nice to see this movie doing that well.:)
Imo, it's the best CBM from this year, by far. Everything else was mediocre.

Wow. What a success! Hopefully, this means more Hugh Jackman as Wolverine with directors that truly care. This is the best of the year and couldd have been the best ever if not for the 3rd act.

Stalingrad posted one of the best weekends of all time for a non-American foreign film in China. The Russian submission to the Academy Awards has already grossed $47.8 million its home country, becoming the most successful domestic film of all time in the Russian box office. Stalingrad expanded to China over the weekend and topped the box office with an $8.28 million bow. The WWII historical epic dethroned The Wolverine’s consecutive weeks atop the box office, with the superhero spin-off sequel settling for a $6.59 million second place finish. The Wolverine has grossed a total of $39.71 million in China.

40 million in China so far? That's quite good.

Do you think it will make it to 50 million in China alone?

To be honest, I don't know. Thats quite a drop for the 3rd weekend, at least 50%. And I think The Wolverine only has 2 weeks left in China theaters.

So the final BO gross would come around 420 million. That's a huge success

Right now the WW gross that is written in BOM is 415M and that doesn't include the 3rd weekend bo numbers of the film in China. If you count the third weekend run, then its now 421M.

So maybe looking like 4 million remaining in China? Assuming a couple mid 50% drops the next two weeks. So i'm guessing it will finish between 44-45 Million. No higher.

Wow. It wont do between 44-45 million in China. It only did 820k in it's 4th week. An 87.6% drop from the previous week. So after 4 weeks in China it is at $40,570,000

Not bad at all! I'm sure DOFP will double that up next year!
