The Thomas Haden Church/Sandman Thread

Well said Ock! I've started reading the comics and he's pretty much identical in the movie, with the exception of not having a wife obviously.

:wow: :wow: :wow:
OMG!!!!. giant Sandman rocks so hard!!.

Well said Ock! I've started reading the comics and he's pretty much identical in the movie, with the exception of not having a wife obviously.
currently in the comics Sandman is like he is in the film but back 40 years ago when he first appeared he didn't have a wife or daughter. he was a normal thug that escaped prison and had to swim to land but what he didn't know was that it was a nuclear military test site. anyways, they have amped up Sandman in this film rather than just throwing him in the film with no story what so ever.
So I'm really happy that Sam gave Sandman a good amount of story that leaves us to feel alot of sympathy for him.

Yeah...if only he had the directing skills to give Sandman story in a way THAT NOT INVOLVE HIM KILLING UNCLE BEN!

OMG! this movie is gonna be soooo good. Giant sandman looks real! they did a good job with the effects.

Exactly!

Ummmm, he's talking about Doc Ock, dude. Not Sandman ;)

But, you are correct on your points on Sandman. So far, Raimi has nailed how all the villains got their powers perfectly.

I'm not going to say I told you so. But, you can't be that surprised by it, man. They did make it really obvious.

If it had all turned out to be a hoax of some kind, it would have weakened the revenge theme. Peter's lesson is that he has to learn forgiveness.

Exactly!

my bad, I thought since he's saying this in the Sandman thread then he must be talking about Sandman lol:woot:. and yes Sam has nailed Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Sandman just like they were in the comic's and he has done the same with Venom as well. tweeking up Sandman's character made him an even more interesting villian in my opinion.

It's my fault. We've steered it off topic a bit :O

Anyway, that gif looks sweet. Sandman looks alot more visually stunning than any of the other villains in this movie, IMO.

He's a monster of visual awesomeness.

isten, if we're going to have a debate, then don't talk rubbish. Back up what you say with some proof, rather than making silly, off hand remarks like that

Listen, you're the one who made silly and childish remarks and flaming me cause I've proved you wrong AND I was criticizing your so beloved sam raimi flick and character, grew up kiddy you need it :o

Oh, I'm sold. If Tom DeFalco says so, then it must be true. Lets just ignore the 40+ years of Spider-Man stories, where the ONLY time Ock seeked out Spider-Man to destroy him, was when he formed the Sinister Six

Now you're definitively biased and I don't have time to lose with someone as fascinating and interesting than a tooth pick :D

You prove otherwise, list me three Spider-Man stories where Ock's primary goal is to get Spider-Man, then we'll talk. Until then, the joke is still very much on you

I have NOTHING to prove to ANYONE here and definitively not YOU so don't try to look foolish even more, the joke is definitively killing you now .

Did you even watch Spider-Man 2??

are you dumb or what ? I'm starting guessing you are man :o

Doc Ock in SM-2 had NO personal grudge against Spider-Man

And If you would have understand what I was SAYING or just READ my words, you would UNDERSTAND than I was talking about Octopus acting like a GOOD GUY in the end and agreeing with Spider-Man to NOT KILL HIM and KILLING HIMSELF instead to save the planet , which is totally OPPOSITE to what Doc Ock IS in the COMICS , but have you ever READ THE COMICS little kiddy ?

Seems not .

So, do me a favor and don't try to argue with me anymore, since you have zero valid argument to oppose to mine and you're making a fool out of yourself on each sentence and new post

Grew up, you need it

Cappeesh ??

Dude, Doc Ock (the poster) > You.

he sure is a visual moster of awesomeness. I mean he completley destroyed the construction site and to be honest I think it's a good idea that Sam doesn't show too much of giant Sandman. I mean he's a huge, visually amazing part of the battle royal that should be saved for the theatre. I am very happy that I got to see this new glimpse of giant Sandman to get me even more pumped to see giant Sandman on film. it's a great spidey comic book moment come to life in all of it's fashion.

The Sandman has never been so massive in the comics , his alliance with Venom should kick ass anyway

oh I know that but it just feels so Comic Bookish even though it didn't happen. and Sandman teaming with Venom will make the fight all the more better and that is a good thing because (Venom is my favorite villian and he's the best:sym: ) and because Sandman is a very powerful villian as well. personally, I don't think Spidey would have survived the fight without Harry's aid. and I realized this especially after I read the novilezation.

You have not proved anything. What did your prove?? You haven't backed up anything you've said with any concrete proof. You've just offered your opinion sprinkled with childish insults.

Now you're definitively biased

Not biased at all.

Defalco is 100% wrong. Do you want me to list Ock's entire comic book history?? Because I will. I shall prove to you that what I'm saying is true.

Anyone who's read Ock in the comics knows that his primary goal is acquistion of power and recognition of his genius. Not killing Spider-Man.

I have NOTHING to prove to ANYONE here and definitively not YOU so don't try to look foolish even more, the joke is definitively killing you now

Translation: "I cannot prove you're wrong, so I'll just keep insulting you to make myself look bigger".

are you dumb or what ? I'm starting guessing you are man

I'm guessing you're dumb, since you can't give me a straight answer. How about you stop throwing insults and actually give a proper answer??

And If you would have understand what I was SAYING or just READ my words, you would UNDERSTAND than I was talking about Octopus acting like a GOOD GUY in the end and agreeing with Spider-Man to NOT KILL HIM and KILLING HIMSELF instead to save the planet , which is totally OPPOSITE to what Doc Ock IS in the COMICS , but have you ever READ THE COMICS little kiddy ?

Once again, you've failed to comprehend the most basic of facts. The movies and the comic books are two entirely different things.

The Spider-Man saga is not all about a girl. Peter does not have organic webbing, he has web shooters. Harry never flew around with a paint ballers mask on a surf board. Sandman didn't kill Uncle Ben. Eddie Brock is not a skinny guy with a crush on Gwen Stacy.

But in the movies, they are. Stuff changes from comics to movies. Any comic book movie.

So, whinging about the fact that Ock was somewhat different to the comics is as pointless as complaining about the weather.

Grew up, you need it

Cappeesh ??

Grew up?? Try grow up. Because, you really need to.

Well Spidey surviving the double teaming of Sandy and Venom is kinda unbelieveable .

As good as The New Goblin is, I still think Sandman is vastly superior to Harry and Venom should own Spidey, any day any time .

Hope the fight will be damn close thought

Someone needs to put up some screen caps of the new scene of giant Sandman at the construction site.

You have not proved anything. What did your prove?? You haven't backed up anything you've said with any concrete proof. You've just offered your opinion sprinkled with childish insults

That's exactly what you've done on this thread towards my posts man .

And you were the one insulting me at first, so what do you expect kiddie ? People being nice and saying "'thank you for not respecting my OWN OPINION and trying to prove your BIASED ONE is the GOOD one at all costs ?"

Sorry kid but it doesn't work that way with me

So, whinging about the fact that Ock was somewhat different to the comics is as pointless as complaining about the weather

Now you're totally lost of arguments .

Ask the Venom smarks here about the size and body muscle of Topher Grace into the movie .

Do you REALLY think they would be HAPPY if Venom in the movie would be a nice Black Spider Man who , in the end, agrees to save MJ life AND peter's one too just because Sam Raimi feels so ?

Be aware, I was totally ready to enjoy Spidey 2 when I've first seen it and I, for one, absolutely ENJOYED Alfred Molina's acting and look into it .

My main complain (if you've read WELL my very first post ab out it), is the ending of the movie and how , all of a sudden, the mega baddie of the comics and the movie becomes a "good citizen guy" .

Ock saving Spidey's life while his whole life of comics he was obsessed with making his life a misery AND killing him ?

Give me a break .

And again he was used a second field to Harry Osborn most of the flick, just a side kick or a lackey .

He brought back Spidey to Harry but couldn't care more about him at all (unlike the comics)

That's my grief towards this movie and the adaptation of a comic book character I grew up enjoying a lot .

Could you RESPECT that ?

Grew up?? Try grow up. Because, you really need to.

Again don't copy my sentences and try to get innovative instead .

You're the one who seriously needs to "grow/grew" up kiddy

End of story this thread is about Mr Church/Sandman
