It's bad enough were getting Ledger as The Joker (Who I'm still not sure why?) The last thing I want is to see Gyllenhaal as spidey .

Yeah, I agree. Christopher Nolan is a very analytical film maker and he always knows exactly what he wants. He wouldn't cast Ledger without good reason.

I still agree with you though. I don't want to see Jake G has Spider-Man. Whoever started those rumors way back before SM2 about Tobey's back and Jake G replacing him should be shot.

Pretty sure it was just a rumor. I remember watching an interview where Tobey said that it was just a huge miscommunication between Tobey's agent and Sony that got blown incredibly out of proportion. Tobey was always planning to return.

Gyllenhaal was never "hired." He was contacted as to interest should Maguire bow out. Maguire was never fired from the role, a fact he has explained only half a million times.

Tobey's great, but is he worth $30 million? Hell, no.

Look, we've had a great trilogy of these films and we are blessed to have had the same core cast and crew for all 3. However, if they are going to make a Spider-man 4, it should be made quite a while from now with a new cast and a new director, and something fresh needs to be done, IMO. That's what I'm looking for.

Think about it. Sam Raimi is ready to move on, I'm sure, and he should. He's been devoted to these films a long time and has done very well. Tobey will be way to old and out of shape. He's a little old to keep playin a college kid and he knows this. Kirsten wants out, we know this. You can just tell that she's fed up with it all.

I agree, I've always felt that Raimi and co should complete the trilogy, finish their story arcs that they have started. Than let a fresh cast and crew enter and head in a new direction, it will be a refreshing experience and will start the excitement again for the Spiderman franchise.

Not sure if he is a turd, per say, but after seeing him act, I'd rather not have him as our next Peter Parker.

I don't think it's true either because Tobey even said himself that if there is a good story to tell then he would be willing to do it. He never said anything about Sony paying him money.

i just dont like him at all, i think he's actually really ugly,ezpecially with blonde long hair, i dont like him at all, plus he is a crap actor,im only going to go see speed racer for the rest of the cast,especially christina ricci

I have no clue who he is, but wow, does that picture frighten me. He looks like he has dirt all over his face, and his lips are purple-ish! Did he just pop out of a grave?!

With that said, I have no idea how good of an actor he is.

Not only could I not see him as Peter Parker, but their's no way on earth could beyond a shadow of any doubt could that little prick be SPIDER-MAN.

I think Tobey does an awesome job and their no need for a replacement .
