I have been saying for years that the Republican party has gone completely off the rails. Some people here, disagreed with me. I have no idea what they have been watching these last 16 years.

This party is dangerous. The Republican party and Bush have done more damage to America than jihadists like Osama Bin Laden could ever dream to do. Two pointless wars, a surplus squandered, and five thousand dead American soldiers, not to mention a million veterans physically and mentally scarred. And for what? Afghanistan is a war zone, and Iraq is coming apart at the seams.

And has the Republican party learned anything from this? Are they going to do anything for these veterans? 8 times they have voted against major bills to help veterans from the wars they started.

Both parties are ****, but the folks chosen for the republican side are bat **** scary to me. Lawd. I choose the lesser evil. Always.

They don't care. They really don't. Remember also their disbelief in manmade global warming, or just science in general.

The Trump candidacy is the greatest thing that America has ever produced. Fact.

He is making this usually boring part of the election cycle somewhat fun to watch. He's a monkey wrench in the political media machine. The RNC and Republicans cant control him. The media cant control him. He is like a wild missle spinning around and bouncing around a weapons depot. Eventually he is going to blow up and no one is going to stop it. Meanwhile the rest of us are watching the chaos with a smile on our face. This was always going to happen. When you pander to the tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy nuts and the uber-"patriotic" bigots, and the uninformed eventually this sort of thing happens.

I have to admit between Trump and the massive amount of people running it's pretty entertaining.

I honestly am having trouble keeping track of who is running.

If memory serves: Bush, Carson, Cruz, Rubio, Santorum, Perry, Paul, Huckabee, Christie, Fiorina, Walker, Graham, Jindal, Pataki and now Kasich

Oh and... Trump. I honestly wasn't sure if he was running as a Republican, or if people just assumed that given his terrible views.

That's sixteen ****ing people.

The media keeps lumping him in with the Republicans and Im pretty sure thats what he said he was going for, but the RNC wont nominate him as their candidate so the best he will be able to do is run as a third-party candidate after the primaries.

He is leading in all their polls though. I'm actually kind of curious how they do those polls...

Polls this early almost never represent how the election will go or which person will be the candidate. If the media wasnt intent on reporting worthless data they probably wouldnt even report these polls.

I don't understand how he plans to get anything done at all via congress if he does get the seat, since he's pretty much dissing everybody and anybody in both parties. People complain about Obama using his powers for EO's. Well with an egomaniac like Trump potentially in office, just prepared for more of that, times 10.

Some will say he's "saying what we're all thinking." :o

I dont understand why thats seen as a virtue. As if there arent good reasons to filter thoughts before we speak them, or that something is valid just because we think it. And those unfiltered types tend to blow a gasket when you're equally unfiltered with them - trump with graham, for example.

Trump is a Birther with a billion dollars. He still believes Obama was not born in America. He is what the base of the Republican Party has become. I thought he would fizzle out, but he is exactly what the rank and file members of the GOP want. He is the man that the primary voters want to vote for. This is the type of person the Republicans have been appealing too since Bill Clinton became President. Now it's time to pay!!!

Basically if you can appeal to that middle America guy that's real military based, against immigrants, and all that there, you have a shot. I suspect he doesn't even believe a lot of the stuff he says but he knows that a lot do.

The problem with a guy like Trump is, that he really isn't a politician. He's an entertainer, jester, businessman with a fortune , so you aren't gonna really be able to beat him in the political realm because he isn't bound by the constraints that politicians and pundits have. You've gotta be able to fight him on his level like Rosie O'Donnell did i. Lol. And a politician won't do that, because that could ruin their own reputation.

He can fight dirty and get away with it , and to be honest, the guy is smarter and sharper than people like Lindsey Graham , Rick Perry, and the other bland Republicans and rightwingers running against him.

He's basically gonna have to either just flame out or lose an election in order for him to step back. Or , he'll just drop out before things get serious .

I really don't think Trump wants to be President. He's in this for the attention and self-promotion. How many times has he pulled this "I'm running for President" stunt now? He never truly takes it seriously. It's all about talking himself up saying how great he is, how successful he is, how rich he is, and look at the crowds coming to hear me talk blah blah blah. I think he's a guy that has all this money, is bored out of his mind, craves more attention than a Kardashian and this is the result.

Trump is visiting the Texas and Mexican boarder today. Oh, the truth he will learn, and I doubt the most of the media will report his findings. Shame on them for omitting the facts. There is 100 or more Willie Horton like stories for sure.

Anyone remember Jessie Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger?!

They were Republicans who won in blue states. Trump is from their school, as he's good on TV, and isn't a politician. With Congress ratings at all time lows, Trump's America first message, I’m not from Washington DC message will resonate

The question is this. Illegals cost ( insert your guess mine is over 100 billion a year ) . Would you rather have a more secure boarder and spend this money on USA citizens or State funded programs for legal residents of the state?

I'm guessing 75% would say yes, and those who don't answer just can’t admit it being politically inconvenient.

Agreed. You can't run a country with no thought filter. Sure he says what "everyone's thinking", but that doesn't make taht right. We could be all thinking Putin's an *******, but if Trump actually says "what we're thinking", we could be in some serious international drama. Do we really want someone who starts war's over petty issues like name calling?

So basically a racist?:whatever:

Now that I think about it, this could be true. Aside from immigration, he hasn't talked about any other issues at all, aside from superficially bringing it up and saying "under my presidency, this won't happen" without ever giving out any plans or how he will accomplish the things he says he would. Most of his speeches consists of him just bashing everyone else and calling his rivals losers 75% of the time. The two major issues that's bringing headlines is him calling McCain a loser and giving out Graham's number.

I think the Ventura and Swartzenegger comparisons are apt , though, in alot of ways, I think he's brasher then even Ventura Swartznegger were.

He knows that if you're rich, can speak in plain simple language, have supreme confidence, can ridicule politicians who people don't like anyway, and stand up for yourself, you can get alot of support. In a particular, he knows that if you're hit , you've gotta hit back twice as hard because A) It makes the other person look like a fool and B)It sends the message to others "Don't tread on me".

The guy is the bull in the china shop.

Donald Trump wealth details released by federal regulators

By JEFF HORWITZ and STEPHEN BRAUN44 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal election regulators released new details Wednesday about Republican presidential candidate and celebrity businessman Donald Trump's wealth and financial holdings, weeks after he estimated his net worth at roughly $10 billion.
Trump, widely believed to be the wealthiest person ever to run for president, holds leadership positions in more than 500 business entities, according to his 92-page personal financial disclosure, a report required of all presidential candidates.

While the documents don't prove or disprove Trump's top-line estimates, even a conservative reading of his annual income — well over $250 million — shows he is more than equipped to personally finance a high-dollar presidential bid. So far, he has lent his campaign $1.8 million and boasted, "I'm not using donors."
The report shows his assets to be worth well above $1.4 billion, including at least $70 million in stocks. Trump carries debt of at least $240 million.

It's impossible to tell from the documents exactly how much Trump is worth because the figures are detailed in broad ranges, with the top category being "more than $50 million." Trump has complained that the forms aren't adequate to reflect his wealth.
The forms released by federal regulators build on documents the candidate put out several weeks ago.

Trump's presidential campaign has affected his bottom line beyond just what he's putting up to finance his run.
His characterization of illegal immigrants from Mexico as "criminals" and "rapists" prompted beauty pageants and television networks to cut ties with him. He's no longer with NBC, where his show "The Apprentice" had generated $214 million for him over its 14 seasons. He said his TV production company brought in at least $4 million in recent revenue.
NBC dropped the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants, both owned by Trump, over his comments. His report says he earned $3.4 million recently from Miss Universe, which he said was worth between $5 million and $25 million.
Trump's self-described net worth would far surpass previous magnates like Ross Perot, business heirs like Steve Forbes or private-equity investors like Mitt Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee.

He could literally buy the election if he wanted. But that would mean people would have to have no moral compass whatsoever.

Its actually $113 billion.

We will never entirely secure the border. We are sharing a border with a country that is failing and being overrun by drug lords and other criminals. The people of Mexico are desperate and the people of central america in general are desparate. And the criminals, coyotes, and smugglers have been getting people across the border for so long that it is an art form. So we can put up a ridiculous great wall and they will still find a way in. Personally Id rather we just not waste money on doing something rhat wont solve the problem.

Id rather we cancel the pointless wasteful $1 trillion F-35 program.
